Never pick up a boy's Cherry
‘I wished I had not squished his cherry’ was what ran through my mind s I walked down the hallway. Nikki kept on ranting, as she tried to catch up to me. Heavy sighs escaped my lips. My eyes were fixed to the floor as I walked twenty miles to the football pitch.
“Don’t you know that?” Nikki said as she caught up with me.
I rolled my eyes, then let out a deep sigh.
“Know what?”
“That in some places, if you pick up the cherry on top of the opposite sex Sunday, you just agreed to have a fling with him.”
“What? How? Is it even real?!”
“Plus you went to the rival’s fest. You were supposed to stay with Jace, because he brought you, but you went to the rival’s fest and squished his cherry.”
“Hold on, hold on, so what did I cause? I mean, is it a bad thing?”
“Yeah, there’s a meeting at nine to resolve all these.”
“What? How do you even know all these? You just came yesterday.”
“I know right. Thank you.”
Nikki threw me a smile, then started to walk upfront.
This girl is definitely from another planet.
How is this even possible? I mean, this is no fantasy world. I just picked up a cherry, and squished it. What’s the big deal there?
I folded the sleeves of my jersey, then sat on the bench in front of the lockers. I let out a sigh, then began to read my novel. I could hear the echoes of the coach’s yells.
“I’m so tired of high-school.” I mumbled under my breath.
“Then drop out,” A soothing voice said beside.
Oh brother. Great idea! Why don’t you use that Jace?
I let out a sigh, then flipped a page. I tapped my right foot repeatedly on the floor while absorbing the novel word for word.
“Anyways, you have to be in the meeting at six,”
I stretched my arms till I was completely satisfied. I yawned, then continued with my absorption.
“Hey! You can’t ignore me. You have no right to ignore me.” I pushed my glasses in, then shot him a look. “I have every right to ignore you.”
“Oh my! Who sold you a cup of confidence?”
That’s true, who did? I can’t believe I’m giving a piece of my mind.
I rolled my eyes, then resumed to my absorption again. “Anyways, save it for our meeting.” “You’re right.” I said sarcastically.
“What? You’re coming to our meeting. It’s going to hold in my home. You’re owing to be helping me with the project.”
“Oh you’re going to see me alright.” I shot sarcastically.
“You are going to come. You made me get the punishment anyway.” He said fiercely. He pointed to my forehead, then strode to the pitch in his shorts with his boots in his hands. And I just couldn’t help but stare at that area again. What about this part that just keeps attracting my eyes? Wait, did he say down my street? How does he know my street? Is that what is trending right now? Knowing people’s streets? I think I need to be more current. And how did I make him get the punishment?!
I absorbed my novel close to an hour before the team started to stroll in. the stench of their sweats hit my nose.
Ewe, boy juices.
“Geez, in so tired.” Josh cried out. He dropped his boots hard on the ground, thyen walked over to the bench. He exhaled louldly with his breaths stabbing my nose. He crashed on the bench landing butt first then moved his arm and places it over my laps, with his armpits making direct contact with my knee. Before I could react in disgust, the coach came in and stood in front of me.
“Annie, are you interested in giving football a try?”
“What? What do you mean.”
“I have came up with a small list of things you can do to be part of this team. You can’t just come here and read novels all day. Someone even said you watch the boys while they change.”
“What? I don’t do that! How will-”
Watch the boys while they change?! Oh I know that someone would be Jace. He’s so on my hate for life list.
“That’s not the point. Now you have to pick between training with the team, being their cheerleader or something, or be the manager or somwthing. I suggest you just be a cheerleader because if they come for club inspection, I don’t think they’ll accept the fact that you’re the club manager.”
“And you definitely can’t train with us. You’re a nerd.” Dave said with a smirk on his lips.
“And a pervert.” Josh added.
I pushed Josh’s arm from my laps, and he hit the floor.
“Stop it! Go take a shower boys.” The coach said with an intense look on his face. “I’ll think about it.”
I grabbed my potato chips, then sat on the stool in my room. I had a lot of homework and some thinking to do. I wonder the look that’s going to be on Jape face when I don’t show up in his home.
A knock on my door gripped me from my thoughts.
“You are needed downstairs honey.” My mum shouted. What again? I let out a sigh, then went downstairs.
My heart skipped a beat, and my eyes widened open.
“So, this young lady said there is a meeting holding fir your class and you are absent,”
What is she doing here?
“Why aren’t you going? I thought you like school stuffs.”
“I thought it wasn’t important.”
“But she said its important stuns that are going to be discussed. I suggest you go.
Go freshen up if you want. But I would suggest you leave immediately.”
“Alright.”
Firstly, Nikki never told me about any school stuff. Secondly, how does she even know my house? Thirdly, I’m sure there’s no school stuff.
I let out a sigh, then turned around to head to my room. Then there was another knock on the door.
“I’m get it.” Nikki said as she laced over to the door. She opened it, and just like everyone in the living room, my eyes opened wide.
Now what exactly is he doing here?!
“Oh hello Jace,” My mom said walking over to Jace.
My mom knows him?!
“Oh, I forgot. Annie, you have to get my allergy drugs from the pharmacy for me. You have to get that first before you go to your school stuff with Nikki.” “Alright.” I said still with a shocked expression on my face.
“Jace you brought your motorcycle right?”
“Yes ma’am.”
Ma’am? Oh my goodness, what is really going on here?!
“Great, you can help Annie at the pharmacy. So she can be back on time for her school stuff.” “Okay, let’s go Annie.” No thank you!
“Please be quick, in already having a headache.” If not because of my mom, I would have rebelled.
“What about you Nikki?” my mum added.
“Don’t worry, I’ll wait for you here.”
I groaned as I walked behind Jace.
“You can walk faster.”
I rolled my eyes, then groaned loudly in my head. It came out rather as a squeak. He stopped at the front of a motorcycle, then picked up and helmet. He smirked, the stretched it out to me.
There is no way I’m going to get in that with him. Only if I could float. I shook my head to the side slightly.
“Have it.”
“No.”
“You want to ride without n helmet? Like, I can totally do that, but you? You will get hurt.”
“I don’t want to ride with you.”
“What? You have the chance to have all these so close to you. Like, you are literally going to touch it.”
“I still don’t want to ride with you.”
“You have no choice anyways. You have to get you mom’s allergy drugs on time.
So hop on.”
“But I don’t want to.”
“You have to! Do you have any other means? You have to hop on.”
“But-”
“But nothing! Hop on!”
The rope holding my heart up snapped, and my heart fell flat, shattering into a billion pieces.
“You know. You’re a big meanie. You just want things to go your own way.” His eyes opened wide, then continued to stare at me. He blinked twice, then his eyebrows sunk in.
“How? We’re running late, and we have no other way to get to the pharmacy on time. What do you want to do? Invent another motorcycle for yourself, or a car?” “No.” I said looking at my feet.
“Then hope on.”
“But I can just walk down to the pharmacy.”
“No you can’t. Your mother instructed you to follow me, so obey her. Plus, it would take you more than an hour to get back.”
“But-”
“Just hop on and quit being stubborn.”
He let out a loud groan, then looked at the blinking golden watch.
“See, we’re already running late, and your mum needs the drugs now. And Nikki…
Why am I even explaining? Just hop on.”
I let out a soft sigh, then walked over to the motorcycle. I grabbed the helmet, then wanted to hop on.
“Wait, I’ll get on first. And put on your helmet.”
I place3d the helmet on my head, then tried to fasten in the helmet. What is wrong with this thing?
“You ready?”
“I’m putting on my helmet.”
“What? Be quick.”
I pulled the ropes harder, then tried to fasten it.
“You done?” He turned around, then looked at me. He let out a loud groan, and his eyebrows sunk in again.
“You expect me to help you? Give me that,” He pulled the ropes, then fastened the helmet.
“You need to work out. I can give you a pass in my gym. Now hold me.” I stretched out my hands, then wrapped them around his waist. “Tight.” He added.
Stupid. I’m sure he has that smirk on his lips now. Perfect butt boy.
He started the motorcycle, then zoomed off.
I can’t believe I’m on a motorcycle with Jace. And my hands are around his waist. Earth, why this long?
The motorcycle pulled up in front of the pharmacy. Jace pulled off his helmet, then let out a sigh.
“You can get off now.”
I got down, then handed my helmet over to him. I smoothened my hair with my hands, then pushed in my glasses. Jace got off too, then stood behind me. I looked at him, then continued to stare. “What?” He said shrugging.
“Why are you getting down?”
“To go in obviously.”
“You don’t need to follow me. I can go to the pharmacy on my own.”
“Why are you so stubborn? Just go in.”
I rolled my eyes, then walked over to the door. Jace chuckled, then walked behind me.
I walked over to the pharmacist, then handed over the prescription to him. He stared at it for a while, then looked at me.
“So you need some allergy drugs?” he says with a smoky voice.
“Yeah.”
“I thought you need some pills for you boobs.” He chuckled loudly, then pointed over to the drugs on the shelves.
“Oh geez!” Jace shouted. Tears dripped from his eyes, as his body rhythmically danced in laughter.
“I’m giving you a poor review.” I said before walking over to the shelf. I grabbed the drugs, then went back to the counter to pay. I grabbed the drugs, then headed out.
“Dang! I need that dude’s number.” Jace said behind me.
“Just take me home.” I said stopping beside the motorcycle.
“Alright little pervert.”
I rolled my eyes, then grabbed the helmet. He fastened his helmet, then started the motorcycle. I tried to fasten mine, then Jace grabbed my hand.
“You really need to work lil perv.”
He fastened it for me, then I hopped on the bike, then the motorcycle zoomed off.
The motorcycle pulled up in front of my house. I removed my helmet, then got off.
“You are welcome.” Jace said shooting me a look. I rolled my eyes, then walked over to the door.
“Mom, I’m home.” I said immediately I walked through the door.
“Great, let’s go.” Nikki said getting up. She collected the drugs from me, then ran upstairs to give my mom.
She must really mean business.
Jace walked in, then cleared his throat. I turned around, then stared. Then it hit me.
What is he even doing here? How does he even know my house? How does he even have the guts to walk into my home?!
“What are you even doing here?” I said.
“Calling you to our meeting.”
“I told you I’m not coming.”
“You have to, you made me get the punishment.”
“How?! I didn’t tell you to pull of you shirt and pose half naked early in the morning.”
“Our teacher said one person can help me, and I chose you.”
“Your luck. I’m not helping.”
“I’ve already submitted you name to him.”
“What?! Now I have to help you,” I hit my forehead, the groaned loudly.
“Let’s fix it another time. I have to go out with Nikki now.”
“Alright. See you soon perv.” Jace said before walking through the door. The door slammed behind him.
Nikki ran down the stairs, then stopped in front of me panting.
“What took you so long?” I said patting her back.
“I had to watch your mum take her drugs. Had to be sure she doesn’t throw them away.”
I stared at her for some seconds, then moved closer.
“She’s a grown woman.”
“I know right.” Nikki said before bursting into laughter.
Wow, she indeed is from another planet.
“So, what school stuff are we going to? You did not mention it earlier. And how do you know my house?”
“No need for all these now,” she moved closer to me, then placed her mouth beside my ear.
“We are going to that meeting.” She pulled away, then leaped while clapping her hands.
“Why are you so excited? I’m not interested in this.”
“Come on, it would be fun,” She laughed hard, then pulled me toward the door. “You need to crack you shell sometimes.” She said as the door slammed behind us.
Oh, my goodness.
