Library Fest
I slouched into biology class, then picked a seat. The first right corner seat is where I always sat. You get to follow on the class, and also not get noticed. The stares from everyone was leaving goose bumps all over me.
‘I heard she went for the training yesterday’ is probably what would be spreading around now.
I never knew I would be a high school celebrity this fast.
I pulled out my books and placed them on the table. I let out a sigh, then began drawing abominable creatures on my notebook. Then everywhere went silent.
Girls began to gasp hard, and murmurs increased. I had the urge to look up, but I had to fight it. What if it was all those pervert guys? I really can’t risk this morning.
Then I felt the seat beside me shake. The warmth of someone’s hands landed on my shoulder.
“Did you hear the news? What’s going on?” I shivered in shock, then looked to my side.
Is she talking to me? Probably not.
I looked back at my notebook, and continued drawing creatures.
“Hello?”
“Are you- are you talking to me?”
“Yeah, you haven’t been hearing me? I said what’s going on? Some news is spreading and I want to know what it his. I just came yesterday.”
“Um, I- I have no idea too.”
“Oh, you’re new too?”
“Um, no, not really.”
“Oh, how come you don’t know? Not worry, I’ll find out. I’ll be right back.”
She brushed her long red hair with her fingers, then applied a lip balm to her small pout lips. She threw me a smile that exposed all her dentition, then walked over to the OMG group. Such bravery.
The OMG group is the top leading female group in my scho0ol. It consists of Olivia, Mia, and Gracie. They were indeed worth screaming OMG when you see them. Everyone would expect them to be fake blondes that fixes false nails and eyelashes, but they are not. Each carried black hair, and rock black all they time. They are cool and good at almost everything. They gave no attention to guys until Jace came. Jace came up with his own group or rather gang. He called it the ‘CHC’ which stands for ‘Cool and Hot Champs’. The abbreviation is not nice to say, but the meaning was quite good.
So, the CHC started to date the OMGs which I think shouldn’t be right.
You see, in life, there’s always going to be the cool and cuter ones, and there are always going to be the less cute ones. The cuter ones are supposed to date the less cute ones so the world would be balanced. It’s just a theory I came up with. The theory of balanced cuteness. I know the name is horrible, but will come up with a better one when I’m famous. Just watch out of it.
The sound of the chair shaking beside me drew mw from my thoughts.
“Oh my goodness, I’ve heard it all,” she said with a surprised look on her face. She blinked her brightly brown eyes, then moved closer to me.
“You know Olivia? Well, Jace just broke up with her,” She said fidgeting up and down. My eyes widened.
“Why aren’t you screaming? Aren’t you surprised?”
“Um, yeah, I am surprised.”
“I know girls like you. You girls don’t know how to express your emotions. You just keep them all in there. You have to let them all out girl. That’s how to live life.” She opened her books, then glanced through her notes. She had a smile on her face. I kept staring trying to process what just happened.
First of all, she is like on the OMG girl’s level, and she’s talking to me?! Why? She’s even sitting with me. Secondly, Olivia and Jace broke up. Is it connected to what happen yesterday? Oh my goodness, over-thinking here it comes.
“So, have you done your assignment?” she said still staring at her notes.
“Obvi, you would have done it. Let me see.”
“Um, sure.”
“So, you’re Annie. Nice. I am Nikki.”
“Nice to meet you.”
Then the murmurs started to increase again. The classroom was filled with the girls cheer and screams. The smell of strawberry circulated around the class. I neck twitched to rise up, but my brain pushed it down.
“Oh my, look up Annie.” Nikki whispered beside me.
I wanted to ignore her, but her constant pinches on my lap was getting unbearable. I forced my brain to raise my neck up, and then wished I never did.
The ceiling fan squeaked with a rhythm. Anticipation was written on everyone faces. Everyone’s eyeballs glued to the moving bare chested male throwing poses as he walked down the class like a fashion model. He stopped in the, middle of the class, and caught everyone’s attention by climbing to the top of the table. He stood there for about five seconds, then began flaunting his muscles. He kept changing poses while making quick glances at me. He wanted to get to the calves but our Biology teacher, Mr. Simpson, walked in with his coffee mug. There’s only one person in this school that would walking into a class bare chested, and pose like a runway model early in the morning. Like it was so early. Everyone would be missing their beds right now and he thinks it’s my seeing a man half naked that would cure them right now? For some people yes, but for me, it’s a big no. That he, was Jace.
“Oh my, are you mad mister?!”
Mr. Simpson’s face was all worked up in surprise. Jace just stood there with that smirk on his lips. Ugh, that smirk.
“Will you come down from there? The class is about to begin. Oh, and you are going to get punished for this disgusting behavior,”
Jace came down from the table still with that smirk on his face. He put on his shirt, then took a seat.
“FYI, you still need a little work on the pacs.”
Jace shot Mr. Simpson a look, then wore that smirk.
Okay, I need to point out a lot of things from this. If it was one of the random dudes, he would have probably been sent to the principal’s office by now. Also, Mr. Simpson totally savaged him back there! And no one laughed. If it was another random dude, he would have been so embarrassed right now. Ugh, such injustice.
“Mr. Jace, you’re going to present a project in the next two days. You’re going to present a digital presentation on all the topics we have treated since the beginning of this semester-”
Everyone gasped, and the room filed up with murmurs again.
“Alright, alright, that’s too much for him. But it is a punishment isn’t it?” “That’s awful! You’re awful!” Mia cried out.
“Alright, alright. He can get to pick only one person to assist him only out of goodwill. Who would even want to help someone outing their punishment? Anyways, kids of nowadays are something else. Just make sure you get it done in two days Jace.”
Mr. Simpson kept his mug on the table, then began to stare at us.
“In two days.” He said pointing to Jace. Jace still had that smirk. Doesn’t he feel pains?
I walked down to my locker with all my books in my hands. Nikki borrowed my backpack. I don’t know what she borrowed my backpack for. I couldn’t hear what she said, I just handed it over to her because I couldn’t ask her what she wanted to use it for the third time.
People in the hallway turned around as I walked down. Some even stopped. I could feel someone walk behind me. My neck wanted to turn around, but my brain wouldn’t let it as usual. I let out a sigh, then tried to turn around. Then my books were smacked hard to the floor.
“You made Jace get punished.” Dave said walking from behind. He had a sneer and a smirk on.
“It was not my fault.” I said with my eyes on the floor.
“Stop it Dave,” Josh said before standing in front of me. He put on a smirk, then folded his arms.
“You perverted nerd.”
He moved closer to me. His breath hit my forehead.
“Stop it Josh.” A soothing voice said.
Oh you’ve got to be kidding me.
Jace walked from corner to corner with his bright green eyes focused on my dark brown eyes. He halted, then walked over to me slowly. My ears followed to the rhythm of his breath. He paused then touched his chest. He began to move his fingers in a circular motion.
Where are people when you need them in the hallway? If they were here, Jace won’t have the courage to do all this stupid stuffs.
“You can leave.”
“Thank you.”
Thank you?! Why did I say that?! It was like I was intimidated by him. Or like he is the boss of me. I’m such a poop head.
I bent down to pick up my books. Then the warmth of Jace hands touched my shoulder.
“Not you, Dave and Josh.”
Oh my goodness. Earth, you know I’ve been begging you.
“Alright Jace. We will be in the spot.”
Dave and Josh strode down the hallway without looking back.
“Come with me.”
I walked behind Jace. He kept on walking without even looking back. My eyes followed the rhythm of his masculine backside. I can’t help but stare at his backside. It just kept catching my eye.
“We have library now, don’t we?” he said without looking back.
“Yes.”
“Ever heard of a library fest?”
“No.”
“Well you have now. Just don’t embarrass me in there.”
Embarrass him?! So he’s calling me an embarrassment. Stupid perfect butt boy.
“Embarrass you?”
“Yes.”
“What?”
“Shh, catwalk in.”
Who does he think he is? Ordering me to catwalk?
The colored lights pierced my eyes.
“What? The library has colored lights?”
“Ugh, just do me a favor. If someone asks you who brought you here, don’t mention my name.”
He gave me a pat on my back, then walked into the circle of his gang. He’s ashamed of me? I did not ask to be here. He brought me here but himself! Ugh! I can’t believe.
“Oh, he doesn’t want anybody to know he brought me right? Well they’ll not know, they’ll see.”
“Hey, why are you here talking to yourself, the main is in there.” Someone said beside me.
“Main? In where?”
“Sure, first of all remove these,”
He stretched his hands forward ten took ohh my glasses.
“I’ll guide you.”
He held my left hand, then started to walk towards a door. But halted when a Josh pulled him in the arm.
“What are you doing here?” Josh said with a sneer on his face.
“Last time I checked, my father owns this establishment.” He wore a smirk on his lips, then walked towards the door, pulling me behind him.
“Where are we going to?”
“We are going to the theatre room.” He whispered into my ear.
“What? We are going to get in trouble. They are supposed to be renovating it.”
“Yeah, but they haven’t showed up yet. Relax, let’s have fun,”
We walked through the door leading to the theatre room. He led me over to what looked like a bar, then pulled out a seat. He gestured for me to seat, then sat down beside me.
“Is this a front bar?” I said tapping a table in front of me.
“Oh you geeks,”
He sipped out of a glass, then stared at me.
“Yeah, it’s a bar.”
“A bar? In a theatre? How? Is it-”
“Hint, my father owns this establishment. Now, stop the questions and let’s enjoy this moment.” “So, can you see me?”
“Yeah.”
He chuckled, then continued to sip out of his glass.
I have seen this guy around before. Does he even go to our school? He doesn’t even look like a student here. I’m going to ask. Just take a deep breath and ask. Why am I even scared?
“Um, are-”
“Bring me a Sunday please,”
“So, you were saying? Wait who brought you here?”
“Um, um, Ja-Jace.”
A guy placed the Sunday on the table, then left.
“Jace? How would he bring-”
“What? How would he bring me right? You guys are so annoying! What’s wrong with me? Am I too nerdy? Not pretty? You knew what? You guys are poop heads. Stupid perfect popular boys. Let’s see how you like your Sunday now.” I picked up the cherry on top, dropped it on the floor, and then stepped on it. I snatched my glasses from his breast-pockets, then wore them.
“Thanks for shaming me. Good day.”
I marched down to the door, ten entered the library slamming the door behind me. I marched toward the door, and everyone turned.
“Wait! What have you done?!” A voice said behind me.
