- Hi kitten.
Nerdy. And not fun.
I try to get around him but he grabs my arm and blocks me.
I hiss between my teeth:
-Let me pass ...
-You didn't say hello to me, I think.
-I don't remember having wanted to, do you see? Now if you could have the kindness to clear, that would be very...um...sympathetic.
He slams me hard against the locker, pressing me under his body. I almost laugh at the absurdity of this scene but the tone of his voice makes me jump:
-Never talk to me like that again
that... I'm an Alpha! You owe me respect, you dirty Omega female dog!
I give you ten seconds to look down and beg my forgiveness.
Seriously? Alphas really need to calm their dominant urges. It's extremely ridiculous and this kind of thing would happen less often... Nevertheless, a dilemma arises for me. My whole body is screaming at me to stand up to him, yet looking down seems like the most obvious solution. A secret to protect is worth much more than a simple glance at the ground...
Just as I'm about to look down, a teacher arrives.
Alleluia...
-Mr Jones and Miss Connors, may I know what you are still doing in the hallways five minutes after class starts?!
"We were leaving," I snapped, breaking free from Aiden's grip.
I walk towards my class, delighted with the reversal of the situation, but my pleasure is short-lived when I see Aiden following me.
I open the door and am immediately stared at by the professor.
-Connors and Jones, you will meet me tomorrow evening at 6 p.m. for a detention given the absence of a valid reason for your delay...
No valid reason? I would like to shout to him that the degenerate behind me has decided to take himself for the king of the world but instead, I stretch a hypocritical smile and after a dark look at my dear friend Aiden, I will join Maeva at the back of the class.
She questions me and I quickly explain to her what happened.
Maeva is aware of my anomaly. I trust her completely. I didn't need to explain it to her. She had deduced it on her own by seeing my behavior towards the Alphas. That, too, was when she was still a bit thoughtful.
I try to focus on the math class in front of me but find that math will never be at the top of my favorite subject chart.
After two exhausting hours, the class ends and we leave to join Kelly and Amber in the dining hall.
I grab a tray of peas and go sit down with the girls who are already at the table. They are already gossiping.
-Have you ever seen the Alpha of the city? Kelly asks.
-It seems that he will soon give way to his son, adds Maeva.
-His son? Who is he? ,I question.
-You still don't know?! Amber wonders.
-It's Aiden Jones!
-Aiden Jones...Well it's not like...Wait what?!
-Yeah.
- And shit...
-For what ? What's wrong with him?, wonders Kelly.
-What he has ?! Girls, let's pull ourselves together here, we're talking about Aiden Jones, Oscar nominee for the greatest prick in history!
They all explode with laughter but I can see that Maeva is worried too.
She knows what would happen if He found out...
She knows what would happen to me...
She knows I'm not an Omega as I claim.
She knows I'm a Delta.
