Experiencing my adrenaline rush left me feeling dizzy and thrilled, all at the same time !
I am proud to say that I have been offered a role as a Quotes and Ad Designer at The Knight Industries, which is undoubtedly one of the biggest and highest-rated companies in the USA. Receiving an acceptance email from them was a dream come true !
This elite company only employs the most exceptional and top-tier talent, and I am humbled to have been selected from such a competitive pool. Joining The Knight Industries is an opportunity that I simply couldn’t pass up, and I am excited to use my skills to contribute to their mission.
As a driven and accomplished individual, I have always excelled in my studies and received top-notch grades. While my academic accomplishments are a credit to my hard work and dedication, there are also some memories that I would rather not dwell on. But, I won’t let these memories deter me from achieving greatness.
As I stood in front of my wardrobe this morning, searching for the perfect attire for my first day at The Knight Industries, I realized that it was imperative for me to make a lasting impression. It’s not often that one has a chance to make a great first impression, and I was determined to do just that.
Though I typically don’t fuss over my clothing, I understood the importance of putting my best foot forward on this momentous occasion. And, after careful consideration and thought, I finally found the perfect outfit that would not only represent my impeccable taste but would also showcase my professionalism and dedication to success.
With my head held high and my clothes perfectly in place, I knew that I was ready to take on any challenge and prove myself as a valuable asset to The Knight Industries. And, I encourage others to also put their best foot forward and strive for excellence in all their endeavors.
I got dressed up in a beautiful white blouse, paired with a black fitted pencil skirt and white heels. For my lips, I opted for just a touch of lip balm. I put on some mascara for my eyes, but decided to leave the rest of my face natural – it just didn’t need any more makeup !
As I was applying moisturizer, Olivia arrived at my place. « Ready, Eter ? » she asked.
« Absolutely ! » I responded, tucking some important documents away in my room.
Olivia saw me and complimented my outfit. « Eter, you look stunning ! » she exclaimed.
I grinned and replied, « Thanks, belle ! »
« If only I was a guy, I’d marry you on the spot, » she joked with a playful nudge, and I blew her a flying kiss as I stowed my documents in my purse.
« Let’s get going so you aren’t late on your first day ! » Olivia urged.
« You got it, » I agreed as I hopped into the passenger seat of her car.
After a smooth 30-minute ride, we finally arrived at Knight Industries, ready to take on the day !
As I looked up, my eyes widened in amazement at the grand skyscraper towering above me – it was the largest and most beautiful one I had ever seen, with the words « Knight Industries » elegantly inscribed on it.
Guards stood outside, protecting the building like they would a palace. I breathed in deeply, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves as I prepared to start my first day.
« Bye Eter, good luck today ! » Olivia hugged me tightly, and I closed my eyes, feeling comfort in her embrace.
But she wasn’t done yet – she handed me a cup of Oreo shake, making my day even better. « Thank you so much, Oli, you always know how to make me feel better, » I said with a smile.
Memories of our childhood flooded my mind, and I couldn’t help but feel grateful for her friendship. « Childhood memories are the best, » I said, nodding in agreement.
With one final squeeze of my hand, Olivia urged me to go before I was late. I smiled at her once more before heading to my new job, ready for whatever challenges lay ahead.
« Sure thing, » I replied as I stepped out of the car.
Approaching the entrance, I was politely asked by the guard for my ID and a letter.
Fortunately, I had the letter readily available from the company email and was able to show it to the guard. With a curt nod, I was ushered inside.
« Thank you, » I said with a warm smile, grateful for the smooth entry.
As I entered the building, my heart raced and my mouth became dry. The interior was breathtakingly beautiful, with an elegance and grace unlike any other place I’d been to before. Lost in awe, I was brought back to reality by someone who bumped into me.
I took a moment to rub my feet on the plush carpet before regaining my composure.
« Hi there, » I greeted the receptionist, a blonde with a stunning smile and dressed in a blue pencil skirt and white blouse.
« Can you help me find my way around here ? » I asked cheerfully, relieved at her welcoming attitude.
« Hey, I’m new here. Just landed myself a job, » I announced confidently.
« What’s your name ? » she inquired.
« Eternity Granger, » I revealed.
Without delay, she punched my name into the laptop keyboard. Seconds later, she looked up to meet my eyes.
« Head to the 27th floor and report to Elena Cary, the Assistant Editor. She heads the department, » she instructed, gesturing towards the lift.
« Thanks, » I replied, feeling a surge of excitement.
However, upon reaching the lift, I found myself surrounded by a sea of business suits and blonde bombshells.
Yet, I could not help but be drawn to another elevator, which stood out with its platinum border and luxurious aura. Despite its obvious grandeur, it seemed to be abandoned.
As I approached it, I couldn’t help but think, « What if I took this ? » I giggled with excitement and made my way towards the restricted area.
However, my eagerness was met with disappointment as the guard stopped me in my tracks. « I’m sorry, ma’am. This area is for private use only, » he explained, offering me a sympathetic smile.
Despite his polite tone, I couldn’t help but feel my face turn red with embarrassment. « Why do I always have to stick my nose where it doesn’t belong ? » I scolded myself, turning to leave.
But before I could take a step, I stumbled and nearly fell to the ground. My heart raced as I braced myself for impact, but to my surprise, I felt a strong arm wrap around my waist, saving me from the fall.
Though initially startled, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the stranger’s quick reflexes. Their touch caused my body to tense up, but the warmth of their presence quickly put me at ease.
With a lazy flutter of my eyelids, I blinked into existence once more. Suddenly, like a shining beacon in the desert, there they were again…those crystal-blue spheres of wonder that could steal a girl’s heart.
But then it hit me like a semi-truck : that’s the same guy who almost ran me over yesterday ! And here I was, wanting to swim in those pools of blue. Talk about confusing !
I glanced down at his hand, hoping for a wedding ring to solve the mystery. But nope, the man was swathed in a fancy-schmancy Armani suit, hiding any clues to his personal life.
As I lifted my gaze back up, I caught a glimpse of his profile. And lo and behold, it was none other than Aaron Knight – the owner of Knight & Co. The man who probably owned companies worth more than my entire existence.
Well, there goes my plan for a bright-colored funeral. I think black is more appropriate now that I’ve come face-to-face with a corporate giant. Wait…wasn’t he in all those magazines and newspapers ? How did I miss that ? I guess my brain was too busy processing the near-death experience to recognize his face.
Life’s ironic like that, isn’t it ?
« Again, it’s you, » he uttered through clenched teeth as his muscles tensed up. I sensed his grip around my waist getting tighter, and his eyes grew darker.
Why does he always have to be so angry with me ?
Suddenly, he withdrew his hands from my waist, causing me to sway slightly as I regained my balance.
Ignoring me completely, he strode towards his private elevator with his guards as his loyal entourage.
« Well, someone certainly woke up on the wrong side of the bed, » I muttered under my breath, feeling my body sway from side to side as I made my way towards another elevator filled with people.
At last, when I reached the 27th floor, I headed straight towards the department head’s office with bold determination.
As I arrived at the office, I gently knocked on her door. « Good morning, Ma’am. This is Eternity Granger, » I greeted her. »Well, hello there, honey ! Please come in, » she replied with a joyful voice. »Thank you so much, » I expressed my gratitude as I sat in the chair across from her. »Your grades and art design certificates are impressive. Moreover, your performance during the interview was wonderful. I truly hope you won’t let me down, » she spoke softly. »I won’t, Ma’am. I promise to give it my all, » I assured her, and she couldn’t help but chuckle.Suddenly, Mrs. Elena called out, « Nancy ! » in a friendly tone.
After that, a girl whom I can see named Nancy comes to the cabin.
« Absolutely, Mrs. Cary, » I replied cheerfully, flashing a smile at her.As I settled in, Mrs. Cary offered some kind words. « I hope Knight turns out to be a great experience for you, » she said.I nodded enthusiastically. « Thank you, ma’am. I’m really looking forward to it. »Moments later, Nancy popped out of her office and gestured towards my new workspace. « This is where you’ll be stationed, make yourself at home, » she said with a warm grin. »Thanks so much, Nancy, » I exclaimed happily.
« What is your name ? » she asked me.
« Hey there, it’s great to meet you ! I go by Eternity, » I introduced myself cheerfully. »Oh, Eternity is such a beautiful name ! I’m Nancy Martin, and I have the file for the report you’ll be working on, » Nancy greeted me warmly as she handed over the documents.I quickly skimmed through the file with Nancy’s helpful explanation before taking my seat at the desk. As I began working, I couldn’t help but think about Aaron and how grateful I was for his help that one day. But I also couldn’t shake off the feeling that he was always angry with me. I wondered how his hand was doing, and realized I never even got the chance to say thank you properly. I wish he had been more straightforward with me, but oh well. »
