Crossing Paths (2)

Her sword swayed with the wind making the leaves dance around. Swaying with the wind and leaves as the moon's light shined down at her. Finishing lastly, her body reacted to a noise at the nearby forest, throwing a small dagger of hers. Hitting the tree, but she saw nothing with her hair covering her eyes again after. Going over to the tree, she pulled out her dagger but then heard a man panting in pain.

Following the sound, she saw a man with black robes on. His hair was covered by a hood with his lower half of the face also covered. All she saw was the red eyes, her memories clicked with the boy she met ten years ago. Walking over, she knelt down as he looked to her. Her eyes were not visible, she removed his hand holding his wound. Looking to see it was more severe than the last time they met. Trying to get him up he then pushed her down looking to her.

"What are you trying to do? Are you trying to get me killed?" His voice was more different, more mature but Huai Li Qi shook her head. Not even able to speak, she saw him then fall onto her with a heavy body. Feeling him faint, dragging him with all her strength to her small wooden home in the forest. Laying him on the wooden bed, removing his hood allowed her to see his hair as a silver color but not made of silver.

It was soft then focusing back to see his wound. Ripping his black clothes a bit making it into a hole shape showing the wound, she could judge that his wound could be easily fixed. Grabbing her needle and thread she knew how to help him this time. Applying as much pain relief, she started stitching his wound.

Wiping his blood off, she wiped his face as he was sweating heavily. It was a normal symptom that would occur. Staying up all night helping him, she wiped his face that whole time.

'We meet again bandit leader.' She said in her head, smiling to see him more grown up. Removing his mask, she saw how he really looked like. His features were a good jawline and fair skin. Never had she seen how he looked like in the past, she smiled seeing him now. Wiping his face all night, till morning arose, she found herself asleep and waking up first. He was still asleep, getting up, she then made little herbs that her mother taught her.

Cooking some rice and common simple food, setting them down for him for when he woke up. She had to leave since she had to meet with her mother and give the jade bracelets to the chief. Going back to her mother, her mother was still asleep. Getting a box for the two jade bracelets, both matched finely together. Closing and making sure they were inside, her mother finally woke up.

"Is my daughter ready to take these bracelets?" Her mother asked her as she nodded. Seeing her mother's smile she could never say no to such a happy face. Her mother got dressed while she was already done. Exiting their home they carried the box with the jewelry. Living closest to the forest and further away from the town, they prefer it that way.

Going down to Hua Jun Jie's Manor he was already there, his parents awaited. Xu Lin was there as well along with her parents also there. Huai Li Qi stopped, she looked to her mother outside of Hua Jun Jie's Manor. "Do you not want to go in?" Her mother asked her with a nod in response.

Huai Li Qi was having a bad feeling in her chest, her mother understood. "Alright. Go back home and I'll take these in." Her mother said as she nodded. Walking off she decided to visit the orphanage. Children were happy to see her, they jumped on her back and soon enough they started tugging her to play with them.

Watching them all she loved seeing the children's faces. Soon enough she left after, the children cried seeing her leave, she returned to her home. Deciding to visit the man, she went to her small home in the forest. Entering in he was awake as she then looked to him. He got up and held his sword at her neck. "What do you want from saving my life?" He questioned her as she looked to him only.

Tilting her head to the side she shook her head, only letting out a little small croak that barely anyone could hear. Looking to him but he couldn't see her eyes. Showing him her bracelet after with a lotus on it, she pointed at it and then to herself.

He looked to her a little confused, then his eyes grew wide. "Little Lotus..." He said as he didn't think it was. Then, he rushed up towards her, moving her bangs from covering her eyes, he saw it. The little girl from before with the two different eyes. It was still there with the gold-yellow eye and brown eye. Looking to him she pushed his hand away with her bangs falling back covering her eyes. Her body shook not even thinking he would try to see her eyes like how everyone else does.

She didn't want people to see her eyes, they were nothing but what people were afraid of. Covering her eyes away from him, he had lowered his sword. Huai Li Qi looked to see that he had eaten the food she cooked. Grabbing the plates, she then pulled out a small bowl of herbs. Handing it to him, he stumbled a little but she looked to him smiling.

Taking the plates down she started washing and cleaning it all. Keeping herself busy, she hoped that he was applying the medicine. Cooking again, she had cooked for her mother and covered the food. Soon enough, she even cooked for the man as well. Taking the set of plates to him, she saw his bare chest. Quickly turned around to hit the pillar wood. Feeling her forehead hurt, rubbing it as she still held his food. Behind her she could hear him laughing.
