Crossing Paths (1)

Huai Li Qi and her mother sighed knowing that Hua Jun Jie was going to try and get out of marriage with Xu Lin which was always impossible for wealthy families. "Li Qi, no matter what you mustn't accept his feelings. He comes from a higher status and it will ruin us. We mustn't be involved with their type of status and wealth." Her mother told her.

Only agreeing, she didn't love Hua Jun Jie. She only saw him as a friend, not wanting to get involved with his status. It would only bring her the same outcome in her first life. Both walked around, her mother looking to her hoping to bring up something. "Li Qi, I'll be visiting the orphanage. Do you want to join me?" She asked Huai Li Qi. She smiled hugging her mother. "I'll say that's a ‘yes’."

Both walked to a common wooden built house, they had bought food and clothes. Along with toys as well as little lanterns for the children to light for themselves. "Auntie Hui Liang and Big Sister Li Qi is here!" The children were running to them in a hurry with excitement. Huai Li Qi had set down the bags, they had all ran and hugged her. She smiled knowing they knew she couldn't speak, yet they still loved her for who she was. "Big Sister! Come play and light lanterns with us!" They said with over joyous expressions. Tugging her hand, they took her along to the river near their home as they all lit the lanterns.

Her mother was speaking to the granny caring for the children. Huai Li Qi smiled looking to each of the children, they were happily playing and wishing for a home that people would take them into. Huai Li Qi hugged them all, they started playing with her. Until a little girl looked to her flute. "Do you play it?" The little girl asked with Huai Li Qi nodding to her. "Can you play it for me?" Huai Li Qi couldn't say no to a little girl that had such innocent looks.

Grabbing her flute she then took a breath, she was sitting along the river with the children sitting down around her and watching her.

Children listened, they loved listening to her music as it made them listen and fill their hearts with ease. Huai Li Qi loved playing her flute when most people always needed when they struggled or felt a need to have their mind away.

"Siyu, what do you wish to do this time? We've already set everything up to ambush the Minister. He will go through the forest which remains in our territory." Lang Ye said. He was Bao Siyu's greatest comrade and childhood friend. Lang Ye was in his early twenties.

"We'll keep to the plan and ambush them. This time we will take revenge on those who put down the poor." Bao Siyu said. Bao Siyu then heard a beautiful flute being played as he followed the music. Going around, he came across a river and saw a young woman playing a flute across the river to a group of orphans. Lanterns flew around all of them and surrounding them.

He smiled to the view, he saw that there was a kind woman playing to the children on the Lantern Festival. Bao Siyu and Lang Ye saw it. They both looked to the woman playing the flute as she soon ended playing the flute. A little girl walked up and giggled to the woman playing the flute.

"Big Sister Li Qi! You play so beautifully! Can you teach me how to play the flute also!?" The little girl asked. Huai Li Qi rubbed the little girl's head. Nodding, she had then gave her flute to the little girl, showing the little girl how to play with the basics.

The children were laughing and eating the food that Huai Li Qi and her mother had brought over. Soon enough Huai Li Qi then heard her mother. "Li Qi! We have to leave soon!" Her mother told her having her get up.

"Aww!!! Can big sister just stay here also!?" The children said wanting her to stay with them longer.

"We have to go back and make more jewelry because if we don't then you all won't be able to have more of these things." Huai Li Qi's Mother told them as they pouted that Huai Li Qi was leaving.

Huai Li Qi bent down hugging the children, they started crying and hugging her back tightly. "Big Sister better come back soon!" They had snot and teary eyes making her smile knowing that they had good intentions. Yet, she knew it was going to take a long time to scrub her clothes later.

She nodded to them, they waved goodbye to her and her mother. Walking along the path back to their home. "Did you enjoy today with the children?" Her mother asked her. She smiled and hugged her mother. "That's good. We must finish the last piece of the jewelry or else the chief of the town won't be happy." Her mother reminded her. They needed to finish doing it or else the chief would be angered and kick them out of the town.

Making it back to their home, working on the Dragon jade and Phoenix jade bracelet as her mother worked on one piece and she worked on another. Making two pieces were meant for lovers. Both made it, making it was easy for them as they had been doing it for years. Finishing, it became late night as they soon rested in their one bed they shared.

Huai Li Qi couldn't speak a single word, she then got up. Getting up, she went out feeling the breeze against her skin. The moon shined brightly down, gazing up to see it looking down at her. Pushing her bangs covering her eyes as both of her eyes were now revealed out in the night.

Looking out with no person ever seeing her eyes before, she was from a family of a low born. Looking around, going over to an old oak tree, she tied her hair up. Taking out her sword that she kept with her all the time, she loved it and created it herself. Removing the sheath, she struck it around and practicing her fighting skills as she enjoyed doing so when it was the dead of the night.
