Chapter Nine

Gray's POV

Once she showed her mark on her face and explained what the meaning was behind hers and mine I was in shock. I couldn't believe that I was the one chosen to be the next Alpha King and that she was my protector. She said that she had a very special and rare wolf and she wanted to show me her wolf instead of trying to explain it to me. I mean it makes sense that it's easier to show someone something then to explain it considering it can be very hard to put some things into words or it could just be perceived wrong. I grab her hands and tell her to come outside with me so she can show me her wolf and I knew she was concerned about other people seeing her so I mentioned that we could go to a nearby hidden clearing that only my Beta knew about. I only use the clearing for some extra training and when I need to blow off some steam. It's a beautiful clearing with a nice deep pond at the far end of it which is nice for a swim and to just cool off after a long vigorous training session.

Once we get to the middle of the clearing she gets me to sit on the rocks that are there and made sure that my back was to her completely so I couldn't see her. I make sure to not look behind me as I hear her walking to the edge of the clearing to strip off her clothes so she can shift. No matter how much me and my wolf would like to catch a glimpse of her naked body we respect our mate too much to try right now since we are the first person she has trusted since the day she shifted and then her pack was killed. The clearing is so quiet that when she starts to shift the sound of her bones breaking and repositioning themselves sounded like gun shots. As soon as the sound stops I know she has fully shifted into her wolf and I'm so caught up in my thoughts I didn't hear her approach me until I felt a large snout nudge me in the back.

After feeling her nudge me with her snout I turn around to look at her and when I do I swear I could feel my jaw hitting the ground. I stood there with my mouth agape as I took in every inch of her wolf. She was absolutely gorgeous with her snow white hair with golden highlights throughout it, she had the same metallic blue eyes, and the same crown like mark on her face but the one thing that really caught my attention and took me by surprise was her tail. Well actually I should say tails since she didn't have one tail no she had two making her the most unique and intriguing creature on this planet. The moment I laid eyes on her lovely wolf I instantly fell even more in love with her wolf and her. I walked over to her slowly and placed my hand on her head as I ran my fingers through her oh so soft fur making a loud purr erupt from her throat in approval to my approval of her. I was doing my best to keep my wolf at bay since he was getting jealous at me for meeting our mates wolf first since he just wanted to come forth and meet her as well.

"Nina your wolf is gorgeous, my wolf would like to come out and meet her as well if that's alright with you?" I ask her wolf. I watched as she thought about it and then she finally gave me a wolfey grin and nodded her head saying that it was alright for me to let my wolf Hunter out. Excited I started to strip my clothes off on the spot and placed them at my feet and I could see Nina's wolf intently watching me as she checked out every inch of me until I started to take my boxers off and that's when she closed her eyes before she saw all my girth in all of it's gory. I got down on all fours and shifted into my wolf and normally an Alpha's wolf is big but mu wolf was much bigger then any other male Alpha's wolf. As soon as I was done shifting into my gloriously big black wolf who had the same two-tailed wolf mark as me but his was white instead of black.

I stood up and shook out my fur before I walked over to Nina's wolf and nudged her face with my muzzle. She opened her eyes and they went wide at seeing my wolf for the first time since he can be a little intimidating but she wasn't scare of intimidated by him she was curious. When she finally stood up I noticed that she was almost as big as I was but just a little bit smaller. Our wolves circled and sniffed each other getting to know one anothers scent before Nina pounced on me pinning me to the ground before she dashed away. I get up and chase her and pounce on her pinning her to the ground making her huff at me. We played wolf tag like this for a while until we are both exhausted as we make our way to the pond to each take a nice long drink and as soon as we are full Nina goes and lays down in the nice warm sunshine to relax. I walk over to her and curl my body up to hers from behind, once I am laying down behind her curled into her she rests her head on my paws and I rest my head on her shoulders and soon we both fall asleep basking in the nice warm sunlight.

Nina's POV

I awoke on the ground in a very pretty clearing still in my wolf form. I stand up and stretch out my limbs and shake out the dirt and leaves from my fur when I see Alpha Dark's black wolf laying on the ground still asleep. I sit there and admire his wolf for a little bit before I ask me wolf Brea a question.

'He looks so peaceful don't you think Brea?' I ask her

'Yeah they do wanna pounce on them and wake them up?' Brea asks me chuckling mischievously

'Hell yeah sounds like fun' I say back to her grinning and laughing evilly

We stand up slowly and crouch getting ready to pounce on him and then together we count. '1,2,3' and once we say 3 we pounce on him waking him up with a jolt as we lay there huffing and laughing but it sounds more like grunting. Alpha Dark glares at us before he decided to try and pounce on us but we move out of the way just in time to see him hit the ground and stumble. We take that chance to headbutt him in the side making him stumble and fall over before he gets up and chases up around the clearing before he finally is able to pounce on us pinning is on our back. He lays on our stomach so we can't move before giving is a look that says 'I win' making us huff and roll our eyes.

He nuzzles his snout against ours making us purr from the affection. I finally push him off and head to the spot where my clothes are and shift back into my human form. I don't want him to see me naked yet. Once I was done shifting and getting dressed I walk out and see him dressed and sitting on the rock waiting for me. I walk over to him and he grabs my hand in his as we walk back to his house. We don't do anything to one another we just enjoy each others company. Back at the house I head into the kitchen to grab a light snack for me and him as I set it out on the island in the kitchen when he comes in and asks me a question.

"So you're a two-tailed wolf which makes you not only my gorgeous mate but my gorgeous protector as well right?" He says as he sits on a bar stool across from me.

"Yes I am, we were destined to be in each others lives. I think that the fact that we are also mates is what drew me here even though I had no idea at the time." I reply

"I'll understand if you don't want me here seeing as there's someone out there looking for me and will hurt anyone in his path. I don't want to put your pack in danger and I'll understand if you don't want me as a mate." I say looking down at the marble island top as my eyes start to water at the thought of him rejecting us.
