Chapter Ten

Gray's POV

Once we were done having fun in the clearing we shifted back and headed back to the house. Back at the house I went to the bathroom as Nina headed to the kitchen and made us a snack. When I walked back into the kitchen I sat across from Nina and as we started to eat she spoke up breaking the silence.

"I'll understand if you don't want me here knowing someone is out there looking for me and who wouldn't hesitate to hurt anyone in his path. I'll also understand if you don't want me as a mate either." She says to me as she stares down at the marble island top.

I sit there staring at her in shock at what she just said to me. I would never ask her to leave, I want her to stay here with me because I want her. I will protect her from everything and anything and anyone who tries to hurt her or who tried to take her away from me will first have to get through me. After I get myself under control I finally find my voice.

"Baby I would never ask you to leave you are my mate and I want you here with me. Earlier when I told you that there was something I wanted to talk to you about, it was about me asking you if you would like to stay and join my pack. I don't ever want you to leave my side I will protect you forever until my very last breath." I tell her as I get up and walk over to her and lightly grab her chin and lift her face so that she is looking at me. I could see the tears in her eyes as she thought I was going to reject her. I wipe away the tears that spilled over before I leaned down so that our faces were mere inches from each other.

"You are mine Nina and I will always want you by my side baby" I say against her lips before closing the gap and kissing her. The kiss started out gentle as our lips fit together perfectly, I gently nibble on her bottom lip making her gasp. I took my opportunity when she gasped to intertwine out tongues together as we both fought for dominance over the other until Nina finally gave up and let me take control.

She wrapped her arms around my neck deepening the kiss as she knots her fingers into my hair and slightly pulling them making me moan into her mouth. I put one hand on the small of her back pulling her into me as she wrapped her legs around my waist as I put my other hand in her hair grabbing lightly tugging on it making a slight moan escape her lips. We stayed like that for a little bit longer before we both pulled away before things got too heated and carried away. She set her head on my chest as I nuzzled my face into her hair as we are both panting hard trying to calm our breathing and our erratic heartbeats.

"That was.....just........wow" she says

"Yeah that was amazing" I say staring back into her bright blue eyes.

"So Nina will you stay and join my pack?" I ask her nervously

"Yes Alpha Dark I would love to stay here with you and join your pack. It's not like I have anywhere else to go, plus I like it here." Nina says back to me with a big sad smile. She leaned up and gave me a quick peck on the lips before we finished eating the snack she made for us and lounging in the living room cuddling, talking and watching movies for the rest of the day. I eventually had to go and do some work so I left her in the living room watching some TV show about vampires, witches, werewolves, and hybrids.

After about 4 hours of doing work I eventually call it quits and head to the living room and see if my mate is hungry. As I walk into the living room I see my perfect mate fast asleep on the couch. I walk over to her and put a blanket over her and give her a soft kiss on her forehead before I went into the kitchen to make us dinner. I walk over to the fridge and grab out the breaded chicken cutlets, I take out everything I need for a salad, and I also take out some cheese before I go to the cupboard and take out some macaroni pasta and some sauce. I had the sauce in a pot simmering with some spices I had added to it and I was currently frying the chicken cutlets when Nina woke up and walked into the kitchen.

"Smells good what are you making?" She asked groggily

"Thank you and you will have to wait to find out. Everything should be done in about 45 minutes." I tell her as I walk over to her and give her a light pack on the lips before escorting her back to the living room. I head back into the kitchen and finish up with the chicken and then I make the pasta and once all that is done I combine it all with the sauce and put it in a glass dish with a ton of cheese layered throughout it and put it in the oven to bake.

Once everything was done I set everything on the table before going into the living room to get Nina for dinner. I told her to dig in and she gladly did as we ate in silence for a while just enjoying the delicious meal and each others company. As soon as we were done eating the sun had set and it was already 9pm. We ventured upstairs and once we were at the top of the stairs she stopped and stood there shifting her weight from one foot to the other nervously.

"What's wrong Nina?" I ask her

"Umm.....I was wondering if I could sleep with you in your room. I sleep better with you then I do by myself since when I sleep alone I tend to have nightmares." She asks as she stared at her feet.

"Baby girl I wouldn't have it any other way of course you can sleep with me in my room since it's also going to be your room as well from here on out" I tell her as I grab her hand and bring her to our room to get ready for bed.

Once in the room we both got ready for bed, Nina made her way to the bathroom to put her pj's on which was a tank top and some booty shorts and I just stripped off my clothes until I was in my boxers before crawling into bed and cuddling up to her. I let Nina pick whatever movie she wanted to watch and as she scrolled through them she finally decided on Warm Bodies. As we watched the movie I couldn't help but focus and admire my mate as she cuddled up to me in my bed. She was so perfect and gorgeous I couldn't help wanting to mark and claim her as mine forever right then and there but I knew I would have to take my time with her knowing she wasn't ready yet. I want her to trust me and want it and me just as much as I want her, I don't care how long it takes I would wait for her to be ready for as long as it takes whether that's a few days, a month, 5 years, it doesn't matter I just want her to want it and being like this with her right now is enough.
