Chapter 8: Artificial Blue Diamond

“A stone?”

Others looked over at the necklace. It was a cheap chain with a cobblestone, looking pretty ordinary. It was different from other cobblestones because there was a hole and a dried bloodstain.

“Jesus! I thought it was something valuable. You look so serious. It turned out to be a broken stone. That’s hilarious!”

Reginald was solemn earlier. However, after taking a closer look, he confirmed it was a common cobblestone and worthless, so he laughed loudly.

He had thought Robin was a component, but it turned out Robin was still a loser, an idiot.

“Robin Bailey, I thought you made some achievements and would give Leslie something valuable. It’s a stone. Compared to Reginald, you are indeed nothing. My daughter was so unlucky to marry you.”

Karen shook her head. She liked Reginald more.

Robin stared at the stone, lost in thought.

The first time he joined a battle, he found a small cobblestone to keep as a souvenir. It was a battle that only he survived because he had put the stone in his chest pocket.

It blocked a bullet from shooting into his chest.

Since then, Robin had kept it as a pendant. It witnessed all battles that Robin had experienced in the past seven years and how he became a well-known general, Primus of Kisia, from an unknown soldier.

Therefore, this stone was essential for Robin. He had never put it away in the past seven years.

“Keep it, Leslie. This is the only valuable thing for me besides you and your mother,” Robin said to Leslie gently.

“I will. I like this. Thank you, Dad.”

Leslie nodded joyfully.

“Robin Bailey, did you find it from a dessert? How shameless you are to give it to Leslie!”

Reginald was enraged while seeing Leslie play with the stone and ignore his blue diamond.

Robin turned to look at him unkindly. “I did find the stone from the desert, but your necklace will kill my girl. Isn’t it much better than your gift?”

His words were like a bombshell. Others gaped at them.

“Bang!”

Karen pounded the table and snapped, “Robin Bailey, what nonsense are you talking about? Kill her? You can’t afford a good gift. How dare you slander Reginald! You villain! How despicable!”

“You are just a failure, Robin Bailey.”

Elise’s father looked away to avoid looking at Robin.

A trace of disappointment flashed through Elise’s eyes. She had thought Robin had a good personality, although he didn’t have any achievements. However, he was indecent.

She didn’t mind that Robin couldn’t afford a gift, but he slandered Reginald out of jealousy.

She thought he was indeed a scum.

“Haha... Robin Bailey, look at you. You suffer in poverty and can only afford a stone. How dare you slander my gift!” Reginald burst into laughter, pointing at Robin.

However, he stiffened the next second because of Robin’s retort. “The real necklace from the Blue Heart series has the functions, but the fake doesn’t.”

“What do you mean, jerk?”

Panic appeared in Reginald’s eyes. Pointing at Robin, he snarled, “How dare you hint it’s fake! Because you couldn’t afford anything valuable?”

“The blue diamond is rare in the market, so it has no fixed price. It cannot be seen in a regular market, but only appears in some high-end auctions.”

“In an auction, LV & Co. spent two million dollars buying a blue diamond with a crack. Then it was split into 500 pendants for the Blue Heart series under ASD. For the cracked blue diamond and increase the value of this series, every pendant has a crack.”

“Where is the crack on your so-called Blue Heart necklace?” Robin questioned.

Blood drained from Reginald’s face.

Elise pulled out her phone and looked it up. Then she raised her head and said with mixed feelings, “He’s right. Every Blue Heart pendant has a crack.”

“LV & Co. is a high-end luxury company, so everything is open to the public. Your necklace is bluer than the regular blue diamond, and the pendant isn’t a blue diamond. It’s an artificial one. Probably it costs only six bucks.”

“The artificial blue diamond’s color is changed through the radiation. If a woman wore it for a long time, it would harm her. Let alone you want a six-year-old to wear it. The consequences are beyond imagination.”

“Do you hate my daughter that much?”

Robin glared at Reginald with a murderous look. The latter flinched in fear. Finally, he collapsed on the sofa, shook his head, and denied it, “I... I spent 600 bucks... I didn’t know it was harmful...”

“You!”

His admission sent Elise into a rage. Leslie was not physically strong. Once she got sick and wore that artificial blue diamonds, she would probably be killed.

How dare he harm her daughter!

“Get out!” Elise yelled at Reginald.

The latter ran out of the house immediately, having no guts to stay. Somehow, he felt suffocated when Robin questioned him earlier.

He couldn’t breathe until he had escaped from Houry’s Villa.

After Reginald was gone, Karen stared at the blue diamonds in embarrassment. She kept bragging about the diamond and hoped Reginald would become her son-in-law. She personally invited him to join Leslie’s birthday party. However, he gave a fake blue diamond as a gift.

In this aspect, he couldn’t be compared to Robin.

“Think you are awesome because you’ve recognized this fake blue diamond? I’ll never accept you to be our family,” Karen said to Robin fiercely.

With mixed feelings, Elise looked at Robin. For seven years, Robin didn’t return. No one knew how much she and Leslie had suffered. She was unwilling to forgive Robin just because of this point.

Robin didn’t retort.
