Chapter 2: The Bailey Family Is Nothing
“Elise...”
Robin couldn’t help but stride to Elise, reach out, and want to touch her.
It had been seven years.
However, Elise slapped him across his face.
“Pak!”
Robin didn’t dodge. Jeff’s expression changed, and a dagger slid from his sleeve to his palm. However, Robin stopped him.
“How dare you return, Robin Bailey! How dare you!”
Elise’s voice sounded like crying.
That night, she had been set up by her competitor and had sex with Robin. Later, the incident raised an uproar in the town, so she had to marry Robin. After taking Robin to the Houry family, she found he wasn’t good for nothing.
Since they registered for marriage, Elise had to admit it and accept her fate. She prepared to teach Robin to become a man matching her, but much to her surprise, he ran away the next day.
He didn’t only take away her dowry and money, which cost 40,000 dollars but also borrowed 20,000 from her mother to deal with the so-called urgency.
Later, Elise found herself pregnant. No one knew how she had spent the past seven years. She was mocked and aggrieved, and finally, she overcame the difficulties. However, the bastard returned to town today.
She’d instead that he never came back.
“Elise, back then...”
Robin wanted to explain to Elise, but she didn’t want to give him such a chance. She interrupted him sternly, “Are you explaining? Save it! I don’t want to hear any explanation. Leslie, let’s go home.”
Then she took Leslie’s hand and walked away.
“Mom, why don’t we take Dad with us?”
Leslie held her hand, looking back at Robin in a daze.
“Dad? As I told you, you don’t have a father. I went shopping in a supermarket one day and got you for free. You can’t call that man Dad because he doesn’t deserve it. Let’s go,” Elise replied coldly.
After Elise left, Jeff complained angrily, “General, she slapped you. You are the top-ranking general in the military, the general of Eastern Kisia. You are a national hero. How could she have done that?”
He was irritated as he knew what Robin had done in Eastern Kisia and the border. He had seen the scars all over Robin’s body before. Without Robin, let alone Stillwater, the capital would have long gone.
Robin was indeed a hero.
However, Robin flicked his hand, apologetically looking in the direction where Elise had gone. “I owe them.”
When he heard Elise coldly deny Leslie had a father and tell her she was a free gift from the supermarket, Robin felt a sharp pang in his heart.
Before Robin ran after them, a black Rolls-Royce with a car plate “RICH” was pulled over. An old man with gray hair got off. Any passerby seeing the scene would be shocked.
It was the butler of the Bailey family, an influential family from the capital.
However, he walked to a young man and bowed at him respectfully. The butler said humbly, “Master Robin, I’m Patrick Bailey, the butler of the Bailey family from the capital. I’m here to pick you up. Master Robin, you are the next master of our family.”
“The next master of the Bailey family? Isn’t my father so superior and arrogant? How shameless he is to say those words! He should have told me bluntly if he wanted my money or power.”
Robin sneered at Patrick. Then he added sullenly, “Since that jerk kicked my mother and me out of the Bailey family, I had nothing to do with him. Nor do I have anything to do with the Bailey family from the capital. Please send my message to that bastard. If my mother hadn’t stopped me from taking revenge on him when she passed away, I would have been on the way to slaughter the Bailey family.”
When Robin was only seven, his father married a woman from an influential family on a snowy day. Then he kicked Robin and his mother out because his mother was from a humble family.
Later, Robin’s mother passed away when they were wandering around.
Robin also became homeless.
Patrick heaved a sigh and bowed at him. “The Robin-Sophia Group will move to Stillwater soon. Your mother named the company in the combination of your names. She also started from scratch to establish the company. Your mother has passed away, so you should take over the Robin-Sophia Group.”
“Patrick Bailey, let me ask you a question. If I were still homeless, would you give it back to me?”
Patrick was rendered wordless.
He knew the answer must be negative.
After Robin and her mother were kicked out, the Bailey family took over all the companies and properties in their names and never considered returning them.
However, much to their surprise, Robin had become so influential.
“Humph! Get out of here! Tell that bastard to stay away from me. Or I don’t mind doing something to the Bailey family. As you know, Robin Bailey is always a man of his word.”
Robin flicked his hand to scare Patrick away.
The latter was so scared that his legs weakened, almost crawling back to his car.
Robin was no longer the poor boy in the past but the general of Eastern Kisia. He had become a national hero, Primus, who protected the country’s eastern border.
He was powerful, leading millions of soldiers.
“General,” Jeff called him.
“Please call me Mr. Bailey. I’ve left the military camp. You can’t call me general. All right. Go ahead and find a place to stay. I’m going to return home to take a look.”
Robin hinted at Jeff to not follow him.
“Yes, Mr. Bailey,” Jeff answered.
Later, Robin arrived at the villa that he had left for seven years. However, he sensed something wrong with the house, as it was too noisy.
“I must take Leslie Bailey away. As I said, I’ll get my son a child bride. It should be your honor. You call her bastard, anyway.”
‘Child bride? Bastard?’
A crazy murderous look flashed through Robin’s eyes. He clenched his fists tightly.
