Chapter 12: Robin-Sophie Group Is Mine

After Elise left the conference room, so did Robin. He went to Jeff.

“Hello, Miranda.”

Once leaving Lands Corporation, Elise called a person.

Miranda Levis was Elise’s bestie. She was from Stillwater and used to be Elise’s neighbor. They went to the same middle school, high school, and university. They were classmates for 10 years, so they were indeed close.

After graduating from university, they separated. Miranda moved to the capital and worked for the Robin-Sophia Group, which Elise knew about.

“Hello, Elise. How did you know I returned to town? I was about to call you,” a woman’s pleasant voice chirped on the other end of the line.

“Call me? Did you come back?” Elise asked in surprise.

“Right. The Robin-Sophia Group moved to Stillwater. I’m the manager of the PR department, so I also moved back. I’ve just arrived in town earlier. Before I went to you, you called me.”

“Wait for me, Miranda. I’ll go to see you.”

After ending the call, Elise went to the Robin-Sophia Group and met Miranda. She told her about the cooperation.

“Well, I cannot guarantee, Elise. I’ll try to help you.”

Miranda worked for the PR department, so she was a pretty woman. The black dress on her made her look enchanting. However, different from Elise, she was slightly like a university girl.

Then she dialed a number. “Hello, Mr. Jordan.”

“Yes?” a man answered in a deep voice.

Usually, a company’s president was never a young man. After all, the Robin-Sophia Group was an enterprise, so the president must be experienced.

“Mr. Jordan, I have a business plan from Lands Corporation. It’s about our project in Stillwater. I like the plan very much. Lands Corporation’s project manager, Elise Houry, is downstairs. She wants to discuss it with you,” Miranda answered gently.

“Lands Corporation? I’ve never heard of it. What’s its ranking in Stillwater?”

“Uh... It’s a small company in Stillwater but with large potential. I believe...”

Before Miranda finished her words, Jim interrupted her unhappily, “Don’t introduce such small companies to me in the future, Ms. Levis. I’ve never heard of Lands Corporation before. I only want to talk to the top 10 companies in Stillwater. That’s all.”

“I see, Mr. Jordan.”

Miranda had to hang up the call helplessly. Looking at Elise, she apologized, “I’m sorry, Elise. I...”

“It’s alright, Miranda. I heard it,” Elise answered, feeling disappointed.

She had thought she could take the opportunity to talk to the Robin-Sophia Group easily. However, it didn’t work. She even couldn’t meet the company president.

After discussing for a while, Elise left in disappointment. She failed to let Miranda help her, so she couldn’t do anything now. This time was different as it determined if she would return to be the chairwoman of the board.

Once failed, she couldn’t bear the consequences at all.

Especially, Gordon said he would kick her and her family out of the Houry family.

Elise believed her father would go nuts.

Miranda was also angry as she failed to help her bestie. When she returned to the company entrance, she saw a man.

“Robin Bailey?”

Miranda looked at the man and stopped him from entering the company lobby. Disdain was written all over his eyes.

“Who are you?”

Robin stopped.

“I’m Elise’s bestie, Miranda Levis. I grew up with Elise. I have the right to mind your business with her. I disagree with letting her marry you. Let alone the things in the past. You still don’t deserve to be with her now.”

The more she spoke, the angrier she became.

Earlier, Elise told her what had happened. Miranda was riled up and thought Robin was a liar and rascal. She believed he returned to town to rely on Elise, so she didn’t think he deserved Elise.

Seven years ago, she hated Robin to the core.

However, she didn’t expect to meet him in person.

“Are you here looking for a job? Oh, right. You have an agreement with Elise’s father. In six months, you must earn 400,000 dollars, right? We’re only hiring security guards here. Do you want to apply for this job?”

“Ah, Elise also told me you’d joined the military and resigned. You can be a security guard. I guess you should know the Robin-Sophia Group is from the capital. After all, it’s an enterprise, and the security guard is paid higher than other companies.”

“Since I saw you today, you would never be able to join our company. Humph!”

Miranda looked Robin up and down. He looked decent, but she felt sickened. She could let go of the things in the past, but Robin was a poor man right now.

She didn’t think such a poor guy deserved to be with Elise.

Therefore, Miranda decided to separate him from Elise, and the first step was to stop Robin from becoming a security guard in the company.

Immediately, she looked over at the security room and yelled, “Wallace! Stop him. This man is a spy from our component.”

“A spy?”

Several security guards gathered, and the man in the lead was tall and sturdy. He was the captain named Wallace Thomson.

“Wallace, this guy wants to become our security guard and steal our confidential documents.”

Miranda pointed at Robin.

“You do have balls, brat. However, it’s your bad luck to meet me today.”

Wallace pulled out an iron bar, grinning at Robin fiercely.

However, he knew what was happening as he witnessed the scene. Miranda detested the man, so she wanted to trick him. Wallace knew Miranda was the manager of the PR department, so he didn’t mind helping such a pretty woman.

“Wallace, I’ll leave him to you. I gotta go.”

Miranda didn’t want to watch the bloody scene, so she entered the elevator.

However, she knew Robin wouldn’t be beaten to death. Mostly, he would get injured as the security guards would understand what they were doing. Miranda only wished to teach Robin a lesson on Elise’s behalf.

“Haha... Brat!”

Wallace flicked his hand. The next second, all the security guards surrounded Robin. Waving the iron bars in their hands, they threatened him, “It’s not your day today, brat. You’ve offended someone you shouldn’t. I’ll let you decide which arm to be broken.”

He didn’t mind breaking the spy’s arm to delight Miranda.

However, Robin pulled out his phone and dialed a number. “I’m downstairs. The security guards stopped me and threatened to break my arm.”

After he ended the call, Wallace laughed. “Did you call your helper? Haha... How hilarious! Do you know where you are? This is the Robin-Sophia Group from the capital. We’re number one in Stillwater. No one dares to offend us. I’m afraid your helpers will never come here. Haha...”

In his opinion, the Robin-Sophia Group was the king of Stillwater’s finance circle.

Shortly, a man appeared at the entrance.

Seeing Jim, Wallace and his team members put away their smiles and became tense.

“Good day, Mr. Jordan.”

However, Jordan bowed at Robin politely and greeted him, “Good day, Mr. Bailey.”

“The Robin-Sophia Group is the number one in Stillwater, but it’s mine.”

Robin walked up to Wallace, looking at him playfully.
