The News

While Doctor Nicholas was still surprised on why Donna acted like that,

I thought Nurse Alice was her friend and that young man, who might that be? He was confused, but he was more confused when he was seeing the girl from the bar in her. She smell like her, but doesn't talk like her maybe she was talking because she was tipsy that night.

He looked for ways to ask her, but all wasn't going through. So he mustered the courage and asked her if she was at Gabs yesterday night.

"Miss Donna, where you at uhm..." He didn't finish asking before the TV in the room lit up with Donna's picture being displayed. It caught his attention and he stared frantically at it.

"You wanted to ask a question?" Donna asked, looking at the Nicholas, who was already glued to the TV. She hiked her head and turn towards the direction of the TV. It was a news broadcast and it was about her company.

"Can you please turn up the volume?" She asked in a deplorable tone. She was shivering already with different thoughts roaming in her mind.

Nicholas turned up the volume and Donna's name was the first thing they heard.

"Miss Donna Sylvester, the owner of the renowned pharmaceutical company has been found getting involved in exporting hard drugs and many more illicit medical tool. Her company and all her assets has been frozen, while she is being investigated." The reporter said, and her picture was being displayed the while the female reporter was blabbering about her.

She was breathing faster than before, a sharping pain plunged her and she felt like her heart was about to fall off.

She breathes morphed into a panic one and couldn't control the tears rolling down her cheek. Her head was throbbing like she was about to lose her mind.

"Ahhh!!!" She gave a bloody screaming hoping the heavens will move and bring justice to her enemies. "I didn't do it, I didn't do this, I'm innocent," she said as tears rolled down her cheek nonstop. She couldn't control it one bit.

Nicholas felt pity for her, he saw innocence in her eyes, but he doesn't know how to calm her down. He was also confused about what to say to her to calm her down.

"I think you should take some rest and don't bo..." The words got glued to his mouth and the words refused to come out when Donna interrupted him,

"Can I be discharged now?" She asked, cleaning stray of tears from under her eyes. She looked embarrassed crying in the presence of Nicholas, but she couldn't help it. It was too much for her to bear.

Doctor Nicholas made it clear to her that she can't be discharged considering her current state and the news, but she pleaded with him to discharge him.

"The board will love to hand you over to the police if they get the news, I'm really sorry." He said as she looked down confused.

"But I can let you go!" Nicholas said and removed all the drips connected to her when he was done talking. He urged her to leave before the news gets to the board.

"But I haven't pay my bills," she said with a broken voice, "a minute please," she added, as she unzipped her handbag and brought out a necklace. The necklace had a heart-shaped blue diamond surrounded by a smaller white diamonds.

"I don't have any money on me now, could you please pay with it?" She requested with a polite tone, praying the doctor accept it.

Doctor Nicholas finally accepted the necklace and urged her to leave before the news spread all over the hospital. And if the board gets to find out that a patient admitted in the hospital was being broadcast and accused of being involved in illicit business, they will love to give her up to the police to avoid staining their reputation with blemishes.

She stood up with ease, but her head was so tired and she was frustrated. Doctor Nicholas requested to take her home, but she refused politely and decided to get a taxi. She doesn't want to drag Doctor Nicholas into any of her problems. He have done enough and she doesn't want repay her with dragging her down.

Finally arriving at the address she gave the taxi man, the taxi man waited for Donna to step out of the car. He pressed the horn, but it seems like she wasn't in the car with her.

He looked through the rearview mirror and saw Donna lost in thoughts. Tears were streaming down her cheek and was shocked in distant thoughts.

"Hello ma'am?" He called out to her by turning towards her after multiple times of pressing the horn.

"Oh... Uhm, sorry!" She quickly clean her teary eyes. She looked embarrassed as she stepped out of the car.

She doesn't know how long this Taxi man have been calling her and she felt really disappointed, but she couldn't control herself. Her emotions were taking a toy on her.

The Taxi man felt pity for her, whatever that was eating this beautiful lady was something big. He wanted to ask, but she looked so classic and beyond his class, so he doesn't want to stress over it. But he really felt pity for her.

Despite putting just one clothes for more than one day now, and still looking beautifully made in it, she looked restless and confused beneath. Sooner or later the police might come looking for her. She might not be able to elude her arrest.

The Taxi man got paid and zoomed off.

She was afraid before now, but she became more afraid when she walked closer to the door of their family house since she can't go to her house after the news.

Her stepmother didn't bother to visit her at the hospital and who knows if she heard the news about her.

Mustering courage and stepping in, but got the shock of her life when she heard her stepmother's voice followed by her Alice's voice.
