Ruined
They came on time and rushed her to the hospital with their ambulance. They tried to revive her on their way but all effort were futile.
The more they tried, the more they see that she was going. They did all they could until they almost gave up, but she came back to consciousness before they got to the hospital.
Donna woke up to the sharp smell of emergency clinic clean, attacking her noses. The room was quite separated from her heavy breathing and the signal blare sound frequently heard in medical clinics that shows someone is alive.
She gradually woke up, squinting in endeavor to hone the obscured pictures before her. She looked around,
'How long have I been here?' She shut her eyes, attempting to recall what had happened. Then everything hits her with a bang. The memory, began to flow in like a stream of water in a tremendous rate.
All her effort to stop herself from crying was wasteful. Her emotions took a toll at her as she breath heavily with stream of tears lingering over her eyelids.
Her best friend backstabbed her and took the only man he dreamt of spending the rest of her life with, and now her company that gave little hope had been shut down, why has life be this unfair to me? She questioned herself as tears kept dropping from her eyes continuously.
She immediately clean her face with the gown she wore when she saw someone coming towards her direction. She forced a smile on her face instantly.
The handsome young man walked in radiating a smile at her, his knee length overcoat accentuated his unfathomable smile which flaunted his modesty.
"Good Morning Miss Donna, how you doing?," He asked with a wide grin extended all over his face.
"Hello ma'am, can you hear me?" He asked, jolting her from her self-absorbed thinking. She couldn't cry anymore, nor even the slightly sadness was found. It was like the doctor's presence brighten her mood in many ways she can't even imagined. But there was nothing that can be done that will take away the lingering pain within her.
"So....sorry, I, uhm... I'm good, just a slight headache." She answered with a jiggling voice. She hiked her head up and found that this tall and handsome doctor was staring at her unblinking.
It was her beauty that made her stand out in the crowd, but Robert was blindfolded with whatever Alice fed him with.
The doctor mustered courage and introduced himself.
"I'm Nicholas Logan by name, Yeah, Doctor Nicholas," He said forcing a smile on his face, trying not to be nervous. He stared at her like he knew her from somewhere.
"Why does she smell like the girl from the bar?" He was lost in thoughts, but he had to keep his composure.
"You've been treated by our great doctors here, but I'm here with your scan results since I was the surgeon assigned to your case, we have to be sure that there's no internal bleeding and all seemed to be fine. Miss Donna." He said, pronouncing the Donna with a more sweeter tone.
She was a bit relieved that she doesn't have to go into surgery. So, she went on and ask about how she got there since she doesn't remember everything. Doctor Nicholas related everything to her and when they were done talking. Nurse Alice and Donna's Sister, Janet, walked into the room. Donna's mood changed instantly.
Why will Alice come with my sister? She must have told my family everything and maybe that's why they didn't come to visit me even after hearing about the accident. She was filled with frustration and an unending pain.
The thought that her company and everything she had worked for all these years had been duked into the pool, tears almost streamed down her cheek. But Alice presence there couldn't let it out. She doesn't want to appear weak in front of them, especially Alice.
"Sis, the accident, how did it happen and..." Donna didn't allow Janet to finish, before she interrupted, like she knew the exact question she was about asking.
"I don't want to talk about it. okay?" She said, putting on a neutral face that doesn't give any sad meaning. But Nicholas could still see that there was pain and sadness lurked beneath.
"Hey darling.... You had an accident, Oh, I didn't know. I'm so sorry. Let me check your vitals," Alice tried coming close to her, pretending to be the good friend they thought she were, but Donna stopped her politely.
"Doctor Nicholas already did, so there's no need for that." She lied and Nicholas nodded instinctively. It was at this point Nicholas noticed something wasn't right, but had nothing to say.
"Yeah, I already checked her vitals and all seemed to be fine." He hand-over the scan results to Alice, but before Alice could finish observing the scan, a young man who happened to be Robert walked into the room.
Oh my god...What the hell is he doing here? Donna was confused why he was there. But she felt an unbearable distress when Robert walked up to Alice and kissed her on the lips.
"Ahhh, this is too much!" She voiced out with tears all over her face, placing her hand beside her stomach, pretending the pain was coming from there.
"Hey? You are okay?" Nicholas rushed towards her patting her shoulder gently, calming her down, this was the second time a random stranger actually cared for her even without knowing her, the first was Robert and that was brought about their closeness, but everything she thought she was building with Robert is all gone.
"Where do you feel the pain?" With a concerned expression on his face, he asked.
"My stomach," She yelled in pain. Nicholas brought out his stethoscope, checking for any irregularities.
"It's fine, if you don't want to see me. I actually came in here to see Nurse Alice," Robert said, and forced a smile on his face as he kissed Alice again.
Donna felt more pain and scream in agony each time Robert kissed Alice.
"This is an hospital please!!" Nicholas spoke out when he noticed what was happening.
So, they walked out of the room giggling. Meanwhile Janet just stared at Donna with disdain while smiling in pleasure. "This is just the beginning, you ugly asshole," she scowled at her without voicing out her ill-mannered thought against Donna.
"You're fine? " Janet asked in pretense. She hated Donna right from time and everything was part of her plan. She had to conspired with Donna's best friend in getting her man and planting hard drugs in her company just to tarnish her reputation. This was the only way she could get back her revenge over the properties of her late father that was shared equally between them. But Robert coming to the hospital was something Alice never told her about.
"I will be right back sis," Janet said and walked towards Alice at the entrance of the hospital.
"Why did you allow him here? That wasn't part of the plan," Janet spoke at the top of her voice, attracting too many attention.
"Hey, hey, hey, keep it cool, yes, it wasn't part of the plan, but..." Alice held her hand and dragged her into one of the rooms in the hospital and locked the door.
"But what?" Janet asked in a rush, immediately they were inside the room.
"Robert is going to marry me and you will have your revenge, so it's a win for both of us." Alice said, chuckling.
"The plan was to ruin the relationship and not get married to Robert, but you decided to..." Janet didn't finish before Alice cuts in,
"You took her company down, that wasn't on me, you ruin her reputation, and you got me on your side by blackmailing me with my past. I have nothing to gain from all of this and the only thing I have to benefit from it all, is marrying Robert and becoming wealthy. Do you have a problem with that?" There was silence in room until Alice's phone lit up to a notification. She glanced at it and her eyes widened in shock
"What have you done? Janet... What have you done?"
"Done what?," She asked with a stern face. Alice immediately showed her the notification she received and it was about Donna's company being publicized and how she got involved into illicit business.
"You've completely ruin her!!!"
