Chapter 12 They Must Get a Divorce
"Do you think that just because I'm an elderly person now means that it isn't my business?" The Old man grew furious then raised his hand high above their heads slamming it heavily on top of the table causing everything on top to shake violently.
Fletcher immediately scolded Ayan, saying: "How dare you talk like that in front Grandfather! Take those words back right now! Tell Grandpa you're not getting a divorce."
But despite Fletcher's scolding tone towards him; Ayans expression remained unchanged while remaining silent throughout this entire ordeal, leaving Talia feeling quite conflicted about everything happening around them all at once.
The old Simpson sneered, "Well, it seems that the Simpson family is fully fledged, even my words are meaningless to you. If you have to get a divorce with her, then wait until I die. Eileen would never step into the Simpsons family door for half a step as long as I was alive!"
Old Simpson was so emotional that he immediately coughed heavily.
Camille rushed over to him, picked up the warm water in front of her and handed it to him: "Grandpa, take it easy..."
"Ah, Cami, I am sorry to your dead grandfather, if I had known that he was such an ungrateful brat, I would never have let you marry him."
"Grandpa, it's not like that." Camille sank her face and said in a low voice, "In fact, the divorce is also my idea. We have been together for a year without developing a mutual feeling, so we decided to stop wasting our time."
Everyone remained silent.
Camille smiled lightly and said in an apologetic tone, "Grandpa, Mom and Dad, I'm really sorry for disappointing you. Ayan and I agree to separate peacefully. It's only that we don't have the status of husband and wife in the future, but the rest remains the same."
The old Simpson seemed grave, and soon his faical expression gradually turned complicated.
"Cami, Grandpa still needs to reconsider this situation, so I refuse to agree to your divorce." the old Simpson continued in a hoarse tone, "you guys go on, I'm a little tired, now excuse me."
Old Simpson got up from his chair, and Camille subconsciously reached out to help him. Old Simpson smiled lightly and looked at her gently, then left the restaurant and walked with his cane.
Fletcher followed with concern.
Talia glared at Ayan, then looked gently at Camille and said, "Cami, sit down and eat. Grandpa won't be mad at you, only he refuses to let you go."
Camille smiled softly, and her heart overflowed with guilt and anxiety.
She saw Ayan's gloomy face and guessed that he must be very disappointed, right?
After all, if Grandpa didn't agree, he cannot divorce and marry Eileen right away.
She smiled bitterly inwardly.
Later, Grandpa did not come out, Fletcher said that he didn't feel good so he took the medicine and lay down.
He spoke up, "Regarding the divorce matter, think about it carefully. Marriage is not a child's play. Feelings can develop over time. You don't want your old grandpa to worry about you, do you?"
Camille nodded in agreement, but she didn't have much say in the matter.
If it were up to her, she wouldn't want a divorce. But how could there be a perfect outcome when they were constantly tied together?
The ride back from Simpson's mansion to Hanyama Mansion was quiet and tense with no interaction between them.
Camille couldn't help but reminisce about her wedding day and wished that time could freeze at that moment.
Suddenly, Ayan's phone rang and he answered without hesitation.
There came a clear woman's voice: "Ayan , you went back to the Simpson's mansion and talked about the matter, how did it go? Did Grandpa agree to your divorce?"
Camille heard every word of it, and a self-deprecating smile spread across her lips.
He's really in love with Eileen, isn't he?
Why else would he be willing to tell her everything without reservation?
