Chapter 5

Mu Shao Qing decided to take a look at herself, looking around as best as she can. Her entire body was almost covered in bandages which had her quite amazed by how she was still alive. She could move her body a bit but her legs somehow were being a little complicated to move around. She had been staying with Lord Yi for almost half a year which she now wondered about how Mu Zhengsheng was without her.

"Just have her walk little by little to have her muscles back and so this can ensure her ability to still walk but the chances of her walking normally is very slim." Mu Shao Qing heard the physician tell Lord Yi who had summoned him to check on her.

From there on out, Mu Shao Qing would walk daily and move her legs while laying in the bed but unable to even walk on her own. Having to drink medicine every day but she hates bitter flavors of medicine which had Lord Yi add sweet flavors inside to make it easier for her.

Lord Yi would help her along with moving her legs when she couldn't even move them well anymore. Her body had been completely damaged with the impact of being tossed onto the hard ground which the physician had told him that Mu Shao Qing had little chance to be able to walk or run normally.

Mu Shao Qing didn't even know though if she could ever walk or run normally when she didn't even have a human form but just a fox form. It wouldn't surprise her if she just became crippled then she could easily be killed like a regular fox in the mortal realm. Laying down on the bed, she whined looking to her paws that laid in front of her. "You'll be fine." Lord Yi came over petting her head which she didn't feel like being in the mood for scratches at her favorite spot. "If your going to wallow in your grief then I suggest you think again. I will surely help you be able to walk more correctly again. Do not lose hope." He said having Mu Shao Qing look up to see his maroon eyes telling her no lie.

'How will I know you are not just saying it? Throughout the years, I've only ever had my older brother. How can I believe what your saying is real?' Mu Shao Qing laid her head down looking away. Letting her sleep take over while feeling Lord Yi pet her.

Mu Shao Qing remembered her mother kindly talking to her. She was born as a little fox with her mother remaining in her nine tail fox form. "Shao Qing, you are special. Your fur may not be what one thinks or your form may not appear but it does not mean that you can change who you are. No matter what, always be kind and generous. Do not let the evil take over your heart. Mother loves you." Remembering her mother's words, she was still a young newborn pup feeding off her mother.

Mu Shao Qing started whining and crying in her sleep having her flinching in the bed with Lord Yi awoken from her whining. Lord Yi looked down to see her unable to stop as he laid his hand onto her head. His crimson red power shined into her which she started to sleep more soundly after. "Little fox, what is going on now? I had you sleep more deeply to rest better. Are you having a nightmare?" He questioned seeing how soundly asleep she was in his bed now.

Laying down beside her, he saw how difficult it would be for her. Having to go through all the abuse, pain, and starvation had done a huge effect onto her. "Little fox, you are not alone. I've been there before." Wrapping his arm around her, he had her snuggled close to his chest which she whined lightly rubbing against his chest.

Mu Zhengsheng sighed seeing how annoying it was to find clues about his little sister but it was more annoying that he had to start from her secret hideouts. Looking in all the places she could have been. He stopped to rest and sighed looking up to the dark night sky now. "Shao Qing, where are you?" He asked looking up to see how dark it was now.

The quick passing days were saddening him to know that his little sister was out there far from him. He couldn't even protect her for one day when he had gone to the meeting. Thinking back now, him and his father were out and gone while he heard that his step-mother was out shopping but he still couldn't let his suspicion of her go. She would be the only one who would target her all the time.

"Lanying." He called out having a small falcon appear which had a small figure bow.

"What does Prince Zhengsheng command?" He Lanying was his personal helper and a private spy that he kept by his side.

"I want you to look into Madam Chyou. See what she had been up to and see where she has been going. I want to find out if she had anything to do with my sister's disappearance." Mu Zhengsheng said having to turn and look to He Lanying.

"Yes, Prince Zhengsheng." She bowed which he then patted her shoulder which had her flinch. She never allowed anyone to touch her since she did not want to be exposed. No one has ever known that she was dressed as a man but she preferred that they did not know.

"You still flinch if anyone touches you. You are quite the type who hates germs." Mu Zhengsheng said having to know He Lanying for a long time but not even knowing that she was dressed as a man. "Alright, go ahead and do your duty. I'll await for your information." Mu Zhengsheng said having to send her off which she bowed leaving with a red face.

Mu Zhengsheng went back into his room and opened his scrolls. Having to hear someone trying to have him sleep deeply. He threw his sword having it hit the person on the other side of his door. Going outside, he saw a dark dressed figure man who started running having to pull his sword out before running. The man created a few flames trying to hit Mu Zhengsheng. Mu Zhengsheng dodged it all but he had lost the person or being. He had a clear idea that the one who aimed for him was likely the one who kidnapped his little sister. They were among the fox clan which had him be sure to prepare and find any leads.
