CHAPTER 9

Naina'a POV

This week went in a blur. And it was Saturday which means that tomorrow is Jia's birthday I need to buy a gift for her and a dress for myself because I don't have anything to wear.

I will be going for shopping today. Maybe! No I need to get something for Jia. Oohh goddd. I think I'll take mom with me for shopping. Perfect.

I did my morning business and then went downstairs.

"Mom" I screamed.

"Hmm" she hummed while reading the newspaper.

"I need to buy a gift for Jia" I said while sitting on the chair.

"So go why asking me" she said.

"I need your help" I replied.

"Hmmm buy a nice outfit for her I sure she will like it" she smiled.

"Ohh right and you know what that I am pathetic at that thing" mom knew about it that I can't do shopping and that too dress shopping I get so confused I need someone to help me. I would have taken Kabir with me but I am angry with him for past week. So won't ask him.

"Mom please come with me na. We'll have lunch at your favourite restaurant" I pouted.

"Okay get ready fast"

Ha ha restaurant thing always work.

"Where are you people going" dad ask while coming out of his bedroom.

"I need to buy a gift for Jia so I am taking mom with me" I replied.

"Okay, but be safe"

"Of course" I replied with a smile.

We were now on inside And. There were a lot of clothes.

"Nai you go there if you find something there. I'll see here"

"Okay" I replied

"And don't get lost," she said.

"Why not" godd why is my family so annoying.

This shopping thing is not my cup of tea. I have realised that.

"Nai come here," mom said.

"Yeah coming" mom was holding two dress.

One was a blue colour dress simple but yet elegant.

And the other one was a white dress with black embroidery

"I think Jia will like the white what do you think," I asked her

"I think Jia will like the white what do you think," I asked her.

"Me too, she will like the white one do wanna buy the other one," mom asked while looking at me.

"Should I?" I asked her not so sure about the decision.

"It will look good on you let's go and buy it," mom said with a smile.

"Nai you go and pay for the dresses I'll go and wait for you at the restaurant," mom said. And then she laughed.

"Okay," I said and then headed for the billing counter.

The queue was quite long.

At last, I finally reached the billing counter.

"Ma'am card or cash," the cashier asked.

"Card" I replied.

"Thank you, ma'am, for shopping. Please do shop again" The cashier replied.

Suddenly there was chaos. Soon I realised that a customer had left their card on the counter. I had seen that lady so I offered my help to give it to her. I think that I have seen her somewhere. I picked my bags and raced towards the lady.

"Ma'am ma'am," I said and she turned.

"Yes" she had a very sweet voice. She also smiled at me. left

"Actually you left your card at the counter. Here is your card" I said while giving her her card.

"Oh thank you so much" she thanked while taking her card. I was still trying to remember where I have seen her. soon I realised that she was Mr Rai's mother.

"Excuse me, ma'am, by any chance related to Arjun Rai?"

"Yes, I am his mom. How do you know?"

"Well, I am Jai's psychiatrist" I sai with a smile.

"Ohh so you are the one who is the centre of attraction in Jai's life right now," she said with a smile.

"Maybe"

"ooh you are"

"ma'am would you like to join us for a brunch," I asked. I don't know why.

"You and..... and please call me Jaya" she left the sentence hanging in the mid-air.

"Okay... me and my mum" I replied.

"Won't there be a problem?" she asked not so sure of joining us.

"Not at all"

"Okay let's go"

We reached the PBN. Well yeah, that was my mum favourite restaurant. Weird I know.

"oooo I love this place" Mrs. Rai was really excited. Mr Rai can never be like her. They were poles apart.

"The mall?" i asked.

"No PNB. Swadarsh and I always come here" she said. I gave her a questioning look.

"uummm Swadarsh my husband" she said.

I saw mom sitting on a vacant table.

"mom this is Mrs. Jaya Rai. I told you about Mr. Rai the CEO she is his mother.

"oooo hello I am Uma Bhardwaj" she then pointed towards me "Naina's mom" se said with a grin.

"yeah I know about it"

"My grandson talks a lot about her on the phone. Actually me and my husband we live in Mumbai. So we are not able to meet him often. In fact, we just landed today to give Jai and Arjun a surprise. Naina if you meet Arjun don't tell him it's supposed to be a surprise" she said with a smile.

"yeah sure"

We then ate our food and mom and Mrs Rai talking like they were old friends. suddenly my phone started ringing it was from the hospital. i excused myself and then went outside.

"Hello," I said.

"Naina can you please come to the hospital now," Pia asked.

i"Why what happened," I asked.

"Actually there are some files that need to be signed urgently"

"Can't it wait"

"Then I would have never called you. Please come"

"Achaa okay I am coming" I was really annoyed.

I went inside the restaurant. Mom and Mrs. Rai were sitting and talking and laughing.

"Mom I need to go to the hospital urgently," I said while my picking my bag up. "I'll call Kabir he will pick you up.

"Okay but be back soon," she said.

"Okay bye. Bye Mrs. Rai"

"Bye," she waved her hand at me.

"okay it should be done before Monday and the give the reports to Dr. Kabir" now I was doing Kabir's work. Great!!!!!!!

"yeah sure," the nurse said.

I then went to the reception and then signed my register.

Finally, this day was over.

When I reached home I heard waves of laughter.

When I entered the drawing-room I saw Mrs. Rai and an unknown man maybe her husband. What's happening.

"Oooo Naina you finally arrived," Kabir said.
