Chapter 7: Kiara

The next few weeks all Zaylee does was head to school or the office, she either gets schoolwork done or get Lilith’s schedule done and it was hell. Lilith was very different from the past soft Lilith she knew a couple of days ago. She was very strict which made Zaylee fear making any mistakes. Her blood needs to be lukewarm, always and must be in her desk before she arrives. Once she’s inside she must recite her whole schedule, she also needs to be with her in every meeting and as in every meeting. Tired would be an understatement to describe how she feels.

Her wound healed faster than humanly possible, she thinks that it was because of her now new vampire blood, she also grew paler than normal. This actually caused for Fleur to get suspicious on how the girl was threating herself, she just brushes it off and insisted that she was healthy, in which she really was, she felt better actually.

Every Sunday she would just take a rest for the day and laze around. They still eat together and that’s the time when soft Lilith comes back, but even though the older girl is pushing her at times she knows that it was for the better. It helps her improve in studying and memorizing in some way she also can’t understand.

Like right now was a Sunday and she was just lying in her bed enjoying the music that’s coming from her phone. She suddenly remembers when Lilith was teaching her about her new game. The vanilla scent that just pulls you in and the warmth that makes you miss it so much.

She remembers the godly side profile that she has. Her sharp nose, plump pink lips to her Razor-sharp jawline. She unconsciously held her lips as she remembers that serious look on her face and how her lips look so kissable.

She shook her head once she realized what she was thinking. I’m straight, she keeps saying it in her head like a mantra, but am I straight? She asks herself. She never really liked anyone before, not guys not girls just no one. As a kid she grew up to always focus in her studies.

That’s what her parents told her, always be the best, so that’s what she was doing. Her parents died in an accident; they weren’t really close, so she felt nothing when the news reached her. She was 12 that time some people in her age may still be naïve about the world but she sure was not.

She stared blankly at the ceiling letting random thoughts and memories drown her. She released a sigh before deciding to stand up and stop her music. She made her way to the bathroom to take a quick bath and change into comfortable clothes. Her phone lit up as she was dressing so she grabbed it and saw a message from her best friend.

“Hey, wanna go out?” it says. She contemplated whether to accept the offer or not, she misses her, but she also wants to just not move and stay in bed the whole day. She chooses to see her best friend. Kiara goes to a different university that’s why they don’t see each other that much.

She grabbed a brown hoodie and some pants and changed. She made her way downstairs while fixing her hair in a bun. She saw Lilith in the dining table eating her lunch alone, the older girl woke up late so she’s having her very late breakfast.

“Where are you going?” Lilith asked as she saw that she was dressed to go outside. “Just gonna meet a friend” she said and made her way outside. A car was waiting outside the door making her race her eyebrow. A vibration from her pocket got her attention so she picked her phone out and unlocked it.

She saw a message from Lilith. “Take the driver with you” it said. She released a sigh before boarding the car. This will raise some questions she says to herself as she said the location of the mall they agreed to go.

Zaylee got off at starbucks and was immediately engulfed in a hug from a girl wearing a button up shirt and a plain pants just like her, by the strawberry scent she immediately knew that it was her best friend Kiara. She returned the hug and they stayed like that for a few seconds.

“I missed you” Kiara said with a pout and squished her cheeks. “Sorry, I was caught up with a lot of things right now” Zaylee said with a smile. Kiara Blake, majoring in law at Willow Academy she’s 5’4 a little smaller than Zaylee who is 5’6. They made their way inside the café with Kiara ordering for them. Once she comeback she looked at Zaylee like she was examining her.

“What?” Zaylee asked. “Spill everything that keeps you from texting me” she said with narrow eyes. Zaylee gulped and thought back to what happened in the past weeks. She became a vampire and now her boss is a vampire, totally normal. She released a sigh before telling her lie.

“Well, first off I got a job” She started. Kiara’s eyes widen at what was mentioned “No way, where?” she asked. “Kaos?” she answered honestly. Kiara’s eyes widen more if it was humanly possible, but it did. “THE FAMOUS GAME FUCKING COMPANY?!” she shouted causing for people to turn their way. “Yes and shut up people are looking” she said thru gritted teeth.

“Spill how the fuck did you get there” she said “Well, I got in a deal with their CEO so basically now I’m her secretary” she said in one breath. “You are a secretary at Kaos? The most famous gaming company in the world?” Kiara asked still not believing what she just heard. “Yes?” she answered quite unsure of what to say to her friend. “I thought you don’t like games?” Kiara asked. Zaylee suddenly remembers her encounter with Lilith as she instructs her on her new game. “I thought so too” she said with a smile on her face.
