Chapter 6: Office

Once Lilith dropped off Zaylee she drove off to her office with a smile in her face, why she was smiling is a mystery to her or maybe it was because of how cute Zaylee was while munching her sandwich or her little thank you, she totally didn’t know why.

As she arrived at her office she put on her usual expressionless face, she’s usually like this but why she’s all soft and mushy to Zaylee is a question even for her. She made her way to her office and head straight to her chair.

She turned on her computer and stared blankly at it. She finished all her work yesterday and as far as she knows she doesn’t have any meetings today. She pressed one of her prototype games and started playing and adjusting needed things.

A few hours passed and a knock on the door broke her concentration making her groan. “Come in” she said before closing her computer and focused at the door, what it reveals is far from her imagination, Corinne Red—her obsessed fling.

She furrowed her brows and looked at her angrily. “What the fuck are you doing here?” she asked and opened her computer again to go back to her game. “Is it bad to visit my baby?” Corinne asked as she made her way to her and sat at her desk.

“I told you our fling is over, go home” she said not taking her eyes of the computer and continued programming it. “We will break up when I say we will” she said and slammed her hands in the desk. Lilith didn’t even flinch at that and continued doing her work.

“Pay attention to me baby” Corinne said as she held Lilith chin to make her look at her, but the latter just looked at her phone that lit up because of a notification. She immediately grabbed it and smiled at the notification, Zaylee texted her.

“I don’t have anymore classes I’ll go there” it reads. “My girlfriend is coming here right now, and I want you out before she gets here” Lilith said as she looks at her coldly. “Ugh! FINE” she said and stomped her way outside.

She grabbed her telephone that is connected to her receptionist. “I don’t want to see Corinne here ever again” she said before hanging up and continued doing her programming. A few minutes passed and another knock on her door interrupted her. “Come in” she said and stopped what she was doing to look at the door.

“Hi” Zaylee said as she pokes her head inside the room before fully entering, Lilith smiled at this. “Hi” she replied with a smile in her face “What are you doing?” Zaylee asked as she made her way towards her. “Just programming my new game” Lilith said as she pointed at her screen. “Can I try?” Zaylee asked “Yeah, sure, also give me feedbacks” She said and started the game so that she could play.

She got of the chair and offered it to Zaylee which she gladly accepted. Once she was settled down Lilith told her the mechanics of the game and what to press. Her arms were around Zaylee making it look like she was hugging her.

Zaylee can smell the vanilla sent that Lilith has making her feel intoxicated and couldn’t focus on what was going on, her mind was only filled with the scent and the warmth of her. “Did you get it?” A voice broke her from her trance, she started panicking and looked back at the screen trying to hide her blush. “Yeah, it was easy” she answered, how she manages not to stutter? She also doesn’t know.

She started playing the game with very much difficulty. You should have focused on what she was saying and not on what she smells like. She scolded herself internally. Lilith was just standing there enjoying the difficulty Zaylee was experiencing. She knows that the other girl wasn’t listening at all.

She grabbed her phone and silently filmed Zaylee struggling to fight a dragon because she always dies. She stopped the video once she realizes that it was enough for her to laugh at later. She made her way to the girl and wrapped her arms around her to teach her again.

“You have to get some good gears first before you attack a boss monster, and by that you need to kill the weak once first to gain coins” she said and made the character attack a slime. She felt eyes on her, so she looked at the girl beside her who was staring at her the whole time. She smiled at her causing for the other to blush and look away.

“Yeah, uhm thank you” Zaylee said as she avoided eye contact and focused back on the game. A few hours passed and Zaylee successfully killed the dragon after numerous tries causing for her to cheer loudly. Lilith just smiled at her. “Congratulations” she greeted and made her way to her computer.

“But it’s late and we have to get dinner” Lilith said. Zaylee came by at around pass noon since she doesn’t have an afternoon class, she also doesn’t have anything to do that time so why not go to her work right? Right.

“Yeah sure” she said and grabbed her things before waiting for Lilith by the door. They walked together towards the elevator while making small talks. “So how old are you exactly?” Zaylee suddenly asked. “In human time or vampire time?” Lilith asked back. “Both” The door opened as they made their way towards the car that was already parked outside.

“I’m 20 thousand years old in human time while 20 in vampire time, pretty young right?” she joked

“Geez you were alive during the world war?” She asked

“I sure am, dark times I must say” she said and opened the door for Zaylee. They drove off the who knows where. Once they finished eating at a casual restaurant in request of Zaylee, they made their way home.
