Chapter 2

Liam and I met when we were in college, and he began pursuing me fervently not long after we met.

At first, I didn't take it seriously.

After all, we were strangers to each other, and I assumed it was a whim on his part.

But he persisted, so much so that I began to waver.

Who wouldn't be moved by a handsome, outstanding, and somewhat arrogant young man who followed you around, appearing whenever you needed help?

And indeed, I was moved.

It was a sunny day when I went out to a part-time job. Due to my family's modest means, I always chose to work part-time during my spare hours.

Even though the job location was far, the pay was good.

I worked until seven or eight in the evening and chose not to take a taxi back to school to save money.

As a student who had never encountered such a situation, I was terrified.

I thought I was going to be harmed that night, but then Liam appeared.

At that moment, he might as well have been a superhero to me.

Without a word, Liam stood in front of me. He then started fighting with those people, getting slightly injured. The commotion probably alerted the security guards.

That incident passed, and Liam and I officially started dating.

After graduation, we got married and had a wedding. Our relationship was always good.

I couldn't understand why Liam would cheat on me, as our relationship had never soured.

Moreover, there hadn't been any girls around Liam.

If someone else had told me Liam was having an affair, I would never have believed it.

But today, with my own eyes, I could no longer convince myself there was no affair or I was wrong about him.

I remember asking Liam shortly after we started dating why he pursued me right after meeting me.

He said it was love at first sight.

Yes, if he could fall in love with me at first sight, naturally, he could do the same with someone else.

Perhaps he had fallen in love at first sight with that girl who looked like me.
