come with me
"I don't think so. They will welcome me." Richard said.
"Don't be stupid. You are my family. Besides, I owe it to you after everything Lucy put you through. I will help you stand, and then, you can go back to your family." Sandra offered.
Richard was confused. He knew deep down that he won't be going with her because of help. He was more than what they think he was. He looked at Sandra and saw that she was so determined and concerned even though she was facing a hard time in the family.
"Okay, Fine. I will stay with you." He said and Sandra smiled and put her hand on his arm. "That's all I'm asking for. Now let's get out of here and leave Lucy and Richmond to their games."
As Richard and Sandra reached the door, they heard Lucy's voice from the back, "Hey, Richard! Are you sure you will be very comfortable in Sandra's house.... as her new little maid! You will probably be doing chores for her soon. That's what you are good at after all and I'm sure it's the reason she wants you to go with her."
"Why won't he be comfortable." Richmond added. "He will make a perfect little servant for her. I'm sure Sandra will appreciate his.... cleaning skills."
Richard's face burned in anger and Sandra grabbed his arm. "Don't listen to them. They were just trying to get into you."
"I'm just saying the truth, Sandra." Lucy objected. "I mean, think about it, Richard. You will be living in Sandra's house, eating her food and doing her laundry. Nothing goes for free. You will be her personal house boy."
"I'm not like you. I'm different and I'm going to take good care of him." Sandra said.
"You know, Richard, I might even consider hiring you as my maid. I will pay you better than susan could ever. What do you think?" Lucy smirked at him.
"Hey, I've had enough of your insults." Richard growled. "You think money is everything? If money is everything, i won't find myself here. Wealth is not the real deal. I have something you don't have. Dignity!"
"Oh! He's talking back at me! I'm terrified!" She laughed. "You know what Richard, I find you cute when you are angry. But dignity? No wretched scumbag have dignity. You are a poor loser and I'm sure you will transfer it to Sandra."
"Let's go." Sandra urged. "We don't need to listen to her anymore. And with that, they walked out of the house, leaving Lucy's mocking laughter behind.

When, they got home, they find Sandra's mom, Mrs. Elizabeth, sitting and watching what seemed like an interesting movie.
"Mom!" Sandra Announced as she entered along with Richard. Sandra's mom was surprised when she saw Richard with a large four wheels luggage.
"What is happening? Why is your step sister's husband coming with a luggage." She stood up from the couch.
"She kicked him out." Sandra answered. "I went to pick something and saw him with the luggage. Lucy fired him and forced him to sign a divorce paper."
"Why? I thought they were living fine? Why will she kick him out?" Sandra's mom asked. "Did he commit anything?"
"Mom?" Sandra stared at her mom, "Why will you ask that? Richard had always been a good man to her."
"Then why will she kick him out when he hadn't done anything?"
"She found another man who she thinks is better than him."
"Good morning ma'am." Richard greeted when he came close.
"Sandra had told me what happened. What is your plan now?" Sandra's mom asked.
Richard opened his mouth to say something and Sandra spoke instead, "He will be staying here with us."
"In this house? For how long?" Her mom asked.
"Until he gets back to his feet." Sandra replied and her mom raised an eyebrow questioningly. Sandra and Richard could see that she wasn't happy with the idea idea.
"How long do you think it can take? I don't think that's a good idea. You and I know what we are passing through at this moment. I'm sick and our textile company is struggling." Mrs. Elizabeth complained. "Having another mouth to feed will only add to our expenses."
Richard nodded in agreement. "You are right. I understand your concerns, ma'am. I don't want to be a burden. I can find another place to stay."
"No, Richard." Sandra insist. "You're welcome to stay with us. We have enough room, and it's the least we can do after what Lucy did to you."
Mrs. Elizabeth sighed as her expression softened slightly. "Sandra, I don't want to be seen like a wicked woman. You know I want to help, but we have to tell our self the truth. The company is on the verge of bankruptcy. We can't afford to take on any more expenses."
"I know, Mom, but we can't just turn our backs on Richard. He's family. Remember how he served my father. He won't have been in this condition if father is still alive. We need to help him. And besides, I have ideas. I can help him find a job. He won't be staying idle."
"Fine." Mrs. Elizabeth sighed. "He can stay for a week or two, but then he need to find his own place once you find Job for him. And Sandra, you need to focus on your own life, not try to fix everyone else's problems." Sandra nodded. She knew her mom was right but she can't just abandon Richard.
