Chapter 2

These three friends of hers are the ones she could run to whenever she was frustrated with her life. They listened well and they gave real talks as well. They are very annoying but they are always ready to support her. She knows she can count on them whenever and she will always have their backs when it was them who needs her. She was so blessed to have them in her life. They are small in number but she prefer them than any other people out there.

"Are you okay?" Heaven suddenly asked that made her return to the present.

Chain sighed. She refers to the fact that she did not pass the ranking game of the tennis club. Add to that her sister Aina who she fought and defeated her. Chain thought she would be able to do well that time. That she would be able to make a change. That finally, she would be able to do better than her older sister.

But she was wrong.

As always.

Her sister Aina would always be better than her. Should she still be surprised? Should she still be hurt? She was expecting it but it still hurt. She was still disappointed at herself. She was also the only one hurt in the end.

Chain forced a smile. "I'm fine. It’s done. I can do nothing about it. Better luck next time.”

Of their four friends, Heaven and Dria entered the Regulars. She and Ayee did not. Is she a bad friend if she says she feels better when she doesn't seem to be the only one failing?

Chain shrugged as Dria sat down next to her. Her face was frowning while Ayee was smiling. Ever since Ayee had a boyfriend, she never lost her smile.

Chain is happy for Ayee. She knew that Ayee had wanted Drei (Dria’s brother) for a long time and when her feelings were finally reciprocated, she was one of those who celebrated. Her friends deserved to be happy and to be loved by the one they loved. If anybody deserved happiness, the first in the list would be her friends. They were the bestest people in the world.

Seeing Ayee’s glowing face, Chain could not help but envy her. What about her? Will the time for her to be happy like this way ever come? Will the person who can make her smile like this also come?

"Why is Dria frowning?" Heaven asked.

"I actually don’t know. She’s been like that for a while,” Ayee said.

“Don’t mind me. I just saw something annoying,” Dria said bluntly but soon her face adjusted and she turned around. "How's the club hunting?"

"Maybe I'll join the baking club," she said.

Ayee frowned. "I was banned there. Is it my fault for breaking the oven?! ”

The three of them laughed when they remembered Ayee's failure in the kitchen.

Sometimes, being with her friends would help Chain forget her worries, her insecurities, and her problems.

But she was just forgetting those. She wasn’t facing them at all.
