Chapter 1

"Do we have a paranormal club?" he said while laughing silently.

Chain suddenly seemed to lose her voice. She could not speak. Her ultimate crush, Third Almario, was standing beside her! He was so close to her that she could almost smell the man. And his arm, it’s yummy! Oh my God!

“Why don’t you try the baking club? You are good at baking,” he said.

"Y-yeah… I also thought that." What the hell! The way she answered was so creepy. Why is it that when she faces and talks to Third, she becomes creepy? It was damaging her image!

“I gotta go. We still have practice.”

"Good luck, Third."

He messed up her hair then walked away. Her gaze followed him. One of her palms is holding her hair while the other is placed near her heart. Her heart is beating so fast right now.

Theodore Almario III or better known as Third. He is a member of the baseball club and is the vice-captain there. He was two years older than her. She was able to meet him because of her older sister, Aina.

Chain has been liking Third since she was in senior high. She liked his gentleness, his perseverance, and everything that defined him. But the sad thing is, Third looks at her like a younger sister. After all, she never expected more. It would be impossible. It would never happen. What good hoping would bring is she knew that it will never happen, right?

It's a waste of time, effort, and feelings.

But she could not erase the feelings she has for Third. If only it was that easy. Because, even if you tell yourself that there is no chance, it does not mean that your feelings will disappear immediately. Accepting wasn’t synonymous to forgetting. If it was that easy, many people would not feel hurt. The world would have been full of happiness then.

Chain has already decided to go to the freedom park that she always hangs out when she has free time with her friends. Arriving at the freedom park she immediately looked for the figure of her friends. She first saw Heaven. She approached the woman with large steps and then sat opposite of her.

"Where’s Ayee and Dria?" she asked.

"They are in their class but it’s almost over," she replied. "Have you chosen a new club?"

“Maybe a baking club. For me to learn new recipes and techniques,” she replied.

"It is possible. There are as many clubs here at SBU that are not hungry for time and attendance.”

"You are right."

She has been friends with Heaven since childhood and even Dria. Ayee, on the other hand, became their close friend when they were in Grade School. The four of them became the best of friends since then and they all decided to join the tennis club together. Heaven and Dria are the children of friends of Chain's parents. Maybe that was also one of the factors so the three of them became close (before Ayee came into the picture).
