Chapter 4: He's Getting Married

After a brief moment of dizziness, Sean caught Janet as she fell.

He offered to take her back to the hospital but Janet refused. After divorcing Louis and starting over from scratch with nothing but what little money he had given her over the years (which all went towards taking care of her sick sister), there wasn't much left in her bank account and she needed to save every penny possible.

She had only felt dizzy because she was exhausted - nothing serious.

Sean saw that Janet was determined not to let him help any further so he suggested driving her home instead: "I'll drive you home first?"

"No need," replied Janet. "Emma is waiting for you..."

"She'll understand," said Sean reassuringly. "You're Emma's only sister; she wouldn't want me turning a blind eye on your wellbeing."

Janet fell silent; feeling weak in body and mind, it seemed like all that kept her upright was leaning against Sean's body as they left the hospital together.

Sean came from an average family background with an ordinary job as an air conditioning repairman earning a moderate salary - which explained why his car wasn't anything fancy; just an old second-hand sedan car."

He opened the car door and helped Janet into the car. Seeing her pale face, he touched her forehead and asked worriedly, "Are you running a fever?"

"I'm really fine..." Janet chuckled. "You don't have to be so nervous."

Sean also got into the car. Before driving off, he pulled out a lollipop from somewhere and insisted that Janet eat it, saying it could replenish sugar levels and fight weakness.

Janet had no choice but to take the candy from him and eat it.

"Zhinya loves this kind of candy." Sean recalled some funny stories between him and his girlfriend as he shared them with Janet.

Listening to her sister's embarrassing stories, Janet couldn't help but laugh. Perhaps because she was in a good mood, her complexion also became slightly rosy.

Sean finally breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that Janet was gradually recovering. He started the car and left the hospital.

Meanwhile, across from the hospital in a black luxury sedan sat Louis unexpectedly.

Audrey had been injured while filming here, so he came over to visit her but unexpectedly ran into Janet hugging another man at the entrance of the hospital.

From their familiar way of speaking to each other, they seemed to have known each other for quite some time already.

That man even gave Janet an obviously cheap lollipop which she happily accepted before they continued chatting away with bright smiles on their faces

All these scenes played back vividly in Louis's mind as his hand clenched tightly while uncontrollable anger boiled inside his chest

Louis closed his eyes tightly trying hard to dispel those strange feelings inside him after all she was just another cheap woman.

After a while, Louis regained his composure and coldness, opened the door and got out of the car.

When Audrey was working, she scraped her leg on a tree branch and had to be sent to the hospital for stitches. Thanks to this accident, she was given three days off.

As soon as Louis arrived at the hospital room, Audrey pulled him aside and started talking about wedding procedures, wedding dresses, wedding rings...

She spoke excitedly while Louis just lowered his eyelids absentmindedly.

"What's wrong?" Audrey gently asked. "Louis, have you been busy lately? You seem... tired."

Louis remembered what happened at the hospital earlier and felt his anger rising again. He pinched his fingers and said in a low voice: "Yes, I've been busy lately."

He stood up with a cold tone: "There's still work to do at the company. I'll come see you another day." Without waiting for Audrey's response, he left the hospital room in big strides.

He still had to find that woman.

At least he needed to find out when she hooked up with that strange man.

Was it during their marriage...

In the hospital room, Audrey watched quietly as Louis walked away. Her face gradually darkened.
