Chapter 5: Billionaire at my doorstep

After Lucas left, the man sat on his seat for some time, deep in thought before he suddenly stood up.

He took out his phone and made a call. After two rings, the phone was picked up.

“Hey Raymond,” said the other speaker across the phone. “I need you to find some information for me. I want complete and well-detailed information about Lina Robert in the next twenty-four hours,” said Raymond.

The man on the other side suddenly stood up from where he was sitting, it was as if he had been struck by lightning. “What did you say?” Nicolas roared from the other end. “You heard me right.” Nicolas changed his facial expression, “Even though you are my respected brother, you are still ordering me around as if I’m one of your subordinates. It’s not fair.”

Raymond did not even have time to listen to his nonsense, before cutting the call. “What the fuck?” Nicholas shouted as he listened to the beep sound of the call being hanged.

“Who is this girl that makes Raymond want to know more about her? I have to find out. I’m not the only one that will hear about this.” He said as he brought out his phone to call the remaining brothers.

After Raymond finished his call with Nicolas, he left his office for the parking lot. The driver has already prepared the car.

“Take me to the Palm Grove district,” Raymond said as he entered the car.

“Yes sir!” The driver replied as he made his way to the car. Lucas, his P.A. could also be seen following him behind his back. He rushed to occupy the front passenger seat beside the driver. The car sped up to Palm Grove district in less than thirty minutes.

As Lina was planning on going out of the house, she heard the doorbell ring. She was surprised because no one knew about this place except for her late mother and her. Even her best friend Rihanna doesn’t know about this place. “Who could it be?” She questioned herself.

Lina glanced at the monitor to check who it was. She saw it was a man putting on a formal dress, a suit which was black like some tycoon.

Another man could also be seen beside him holding some files with a serious face. She can see his face clearly, but she can’t see the second man's face.

“Ding dong!” The door rang again which brought her back to her senses.

She opened the door with a jerk. She was surprised by who she saw on her doorstep. Her eyes widened once they landed on the man’s face, with those souls capturing dark eyes shimmering with intensity. “Have you seen enough?” The man asked with a cold voice that brought her back to her senses.

She still couldn’t believe her eyes. “Who can tell me what Raymond Walton is doing in my house?” She asked no one but herself.

Even though she isn’t a fan of listening to the news, who didn’t know the richest billionaire in town was Raymond Walton.’

“Hi,” she said awkwardly. He didn’t even ask for her permission or reply to her greetings before he strolled into her house. It was the other man who was following behind him who replied to her greetings with a smile. Lina does not have a choice but to follow them inside.

Raymond sat down after walking in. He looked around him and saw that the house was not decorated luxuriously but it was cozy. After looking at his surroundings, he glanced at her and saw that she was also looking at him with a puzzled look.

He didn’t say anything to her, he just stretched out his hands and some files were passed to him by Lucas, his assistant Who came together with him.

“Sit!” He commanded. She was not happy at his commanding tone, she pouted her mouth and sat down across from him. All her actions were being watched by Raymond, he found her cute as she pouted her mouth and he smiled.

After she sat down, they kept staring at each other for some time, before Lina broke the silence.

“Mr Walton, the last time I checked, I knew we didn’t have anything to do with each other and we hadn’t met each other before. What brought you to my humble aboard.”

Raymond Walton was surprised because no woman had talked to him with so much confidence before. They are always looking at him with eyes filled with infatuation and lust.

But looking at Laura, he saw that she was calm, even though she was surprised when she first saw him for the first time at her doorstep, aside from that, she was very calm. Seeing this, he started having a good impression of her. He was even doubting that she was the woman he spent the night with.

Yes, that's right. The man Lina had spent the steaming night with was Raymond Walton, one of the richest billionaires in the country.

But seeing that gorgeous face of hers, he knew that she was the proactive person who made his blood boil throughout the night. He was even doubtful that she knew the person she spent the night with. But looking at her guarded attitude towards him, it's like she didn’t know he was the one she had sex with last night.

Seeing this, he can’t wait to see her expression after telling her that he was the one that she spent last night with.

Raymond stared at her for some seconds before putting the file passed to him by his secretary on the table in front of him. He brought out some documents and passed them to Lina.

She started thinking about what could be written in the document. On flipping through the documents, she was shocked by what it entails.
