Chapter 6: Marriage contract

On seeing what the documents entail. She was shocked. Her mouth was wide agape, she didn’t react for a long time. Suddenly she started laughing.

Raymond was surprised at her reaction, he had imagined how she would react, but what was happening was not within his expectations. He had been staring at her since she started reading the documents.

Lina laughed until tears started streaming from her eyes. She clutched her stomach while laughing because it hurt.

“Mr. Raymond, is this a joke? Why would you bring a marriage contract to me, stating I should be your acting wife for a year? That’s crazy, you know that.”

Raymond didn’t speak for a long time, he continued staring at her before saying,

“I know today is supposed to be your wedding day with your fiancé.” As he said that, he felt bitter. “No one is supposed to be called her fiancé except me.” he thought.

Lina looks at him deeply. Even though most people know about her wedding, someone like Raymond shouldn’t have been following this update unless he had investigated her before. Someone like Raymond who controls the country's economy shouldn’t care about a small fry like her.

Even though her fiancé family, ‘the Fredrick family’ is still considered wealthy, they are not considered rich near the Waltons. Their foundation is also not solid like an aristocratic family like the Walton's. Who doesn’t know that the Waltons are the leaders of the top five aristocratic families in the country?

“Since you know that, why would you present something like this to me on the day of my wedding? Don’t you think it’s funny?” She said with an angry expression.

“Why is all this happening today? Have I not been heartbroken enough?” She sighed.

“Even though today is your wedding, you and I know that you won’t be getting married to that Daniel guy today unless you don’t want to deal with him and your step-sister with all that they did to you.” Raymond reminded her.

Lina was shocked when she heard this, she hadn’t even told anyone about what she saw and how painful what she was going through right now was, but this guy knew about it all.

On remembering his identity, she isn’t surprised anymore because there is nothing he wants to know that he can’t get. Who is Raymond? He is one of the richest billionaires in the country, and his social network is also wide. Knowing about this small information is just a small task.

“Since you have investigated me and know about how messed up my life is, why choose me? Of all people? You can get any woman you want with a flip of your finger.” She said while staring at him.

Yes, that’s true, Raymond had asked his assistant Lucas to investigate her this morning before coming to her place. After he left the hotel, he told Lucas to find all the information about the woman he had the one-night stand with.
