Chapter 5

* Chapter 5 Her life now *

After an hour, was she still traveling to her new home? Gigi preferred to refer to it as a residence.

The idea that a woman transforms a house into a home is improbable. What if she thought of it as more of a side job, similar to a bed and breakfast? only momentary.

What kind of a home is it if she doesn't consider it a house?

"Wait," gasped Gigi. She rolled down her window quickly and frantically groped for her pocketbook. " Wait. Stop the car"

The car slowed down somewhat.

"Do you need to use the restroom once more? It is concealed. Just wait for the next one while inside the car. '' Graham focused on his phone while dictating.

She had three toilet stops throughout the ride because she had to urinate a lot while pregnant. Moreover, it was pouring heavily.

Instead, Gigi defied his commands. She scrambled outside in the storm and unlocked the door because she saw a homeless man battling to keep his belongings from getting soaked.

Only a radio, a mat, and a few items of clothing in a sack were present. They were all he had, though. Gigi assisted him in gathering his belongings before they could be carried away by the runoff.

She turned when the automobile honked and saw Graham staring at her with a clouded expression. She disregarded it and carried on assisting the man.

Later, she gave the man some money and an umbrella so he wouldn't get soaked by the rain anymore.

Tears were overflowing the banks of the pool in his beautiful eyes. He stroked her cheeks and grinned in appreciation. "God bless you, my dear."

The automobile sounded its horn once again. " Give me a minute, '' she screamed as she turned.

Graham could read her lips even if he could not hear her words above the rain in the automobile. His jaw became set, "Get going."

The driver didn't understand. Graham's patronizing repetition of "I said to get moving" made him realize he had heard correctly.

The driver took a deep breath. He turned to see Gigi talking to the elderly man.

He and she were now sharing the umbrella. She would have to walk in the rain if they left. But because he knew Graham, he stomped on it.

"My dear, your ride is leaving you behind."

When she saw the automobile go, Gigi was astounded. Unintentionally, her hand twisted into a fist. She shouted for the automobile and started running after it.

Paul, the driver, noticed Gigi in the side mirror and was deeply saddened. She had just left the hospital, and Graham intended to send her back.

He said, "Boss, she's going to get soa__," as he said slowly.

Graham cut him off coldly, '' I am not deaf. I see that. ''

Paul tapped on the steering wheel and asked "What about the ba__"

Graham made a more vehement interruption this time. "If you're that concerned. Go with her. ''

Then, from the side mirror, he saw Gigi chasing the car. She entered his life and tried to make them on his terms.

He was never able to forgive that. Graham had to make her learn a lesson. He wanted to watch her break down before letting her inside because he knew he would have to at some time.

She was unfortunately persistent. He would have told the driver to drive away if it weren't for the baby. He told Paul to stop the car when he noticed she was having trouble breathing. '' Get her now. ''

Paul unlocked the door and went outside to retrieve her. " You believe you have me wrapped around your little finger," he murmured as the edges of his lips curled up to reveal a mischievous smirk. " I continue to be in charge and always have.

She entered the car dripping wet once the door opened. She was dressed in a gray dress with a single strap round neck that exposed her back and arms due to the unseasonably rainy weather. It was considerably worse now that it was wet.

Her clothes and hair still dripped inside the car even though she had squeezed so much water out of them outdoors.

She gave Graham a furious glance. By chance, he did too, and their eyes met. She wished she could remove the smirk that hung on his lips.

He was having fun with it. prevailing over her.

She rubbed her hands as she breathed in them to keep them warm. '' Why did you have an issue when I did, if you don't want to help him? '' she let her curiosity take over.

When he turned to face her, Gigi choked on her saliva due to his glare.

He would occasionally get so terrifying that she would lose her ability to breathe.

She locked her feelings away and controlled them while putting on a brave face. In reality, she longed to flee outside into the drizzle. It wasn't the cold that caused her hands on her thighs to start shaking. It was him!

He smiled instead of devouring her as she had anticipated. "He has both hands and legs but still begs. Giving him money wouldn't be helpful on my part. ''

She fought in her rage for a moment before asking, "You think he is stuck there because he is lazy? "

Graham furrowed his brow and said, accompanied by a grin. It was his 'exactly!' expression.

'' I guess that's how all wealthy people think, '' whispered Gigi as she felt a twist in her gut. '' You can't criticize him since you don't know his story. I don't blame you because you succeeded by chance. ''

Graham's smile faded when he heard this. As the temperature in the vehicle decreased, his eyes suddenly turned dark.

Anyone listening could tell that he was extremely offended by the stillness, which was lethal. He could only sigh helplessly, "Luck?" as he rubbed the area between his eyebrows. '' The difference between me and the man you just assisted would not have existed if I had relied just on luck. '' he scoffed.

'' I rely on my talent, perseverance, and hard work, while he leans on luck and suckers like you. ''

Gigi had a lot to say but remained silent. She didn't think everyone living on the street was there merely out of laziness. Some people, like her family, were merely the victims of their environment.

They weren't made lazy by it. People with money, like him, held this belief.

'' Have you ever considered the possibility that you've been wealthy for so long that you've forgotten what it's like to be poor? I suppose that many people are unscrupulous because of money.'' She abruptly blurted out a conversation she was having in her head.

'' You ought to be the last person to tell me that. Just because you assist that man doesn't automatically make you a nice person. Keep in mind why you are here. '' Graham muttered with contempt in his flaming eyes.

Paul sped along, nonchalantly oblivious to the conflict in the vehicle.

He was accurate. She was the dishonest one among them as well.

She wasn't expecting Graham to raise the temperature in the automobile by adjusting the temperature. She shook when she first entered because the room was frigid, but now it is warm.

He smirked as he picked up an essential document to quickly scan over, "I guess I'm not that heartless after all. ''

She would never dare to assume that he did it for her. Or perhaps he wanted to demonstrate his ability to do good.

Better he only cared for the baby in her tummy.
