Chapter 17 Disaster Emanates from Careless Talk

On hearing his words, the girls exclaimed, "My goodness!"

What a prestigious status Tony had! He seemed to be only in his twenties, yet he had made such remarkable achievements. It was truly astonishing.

A few women commented enviously, wishing that it were them that he liked instead.

Old Mrs. Adams couldn't have been more happier. With the contract signed, and the new gain of such an excellent son-in-law. The Adams family was not only on its way to become a top-tier family, it was only a matter of time that it become the most powerful family in Hiphia.

Everyone was so excited that no one noticed one pair of eyes that remained indifferent to the situation. Instead, they were staring at Tony with extreme disdain, as if looking at a freak. Kayden had never seen such a shameless man before. Today, he finally saw Tony's true nature. He really was just a clown who only bluffed.

And then, he took out his phone and dialed a number. While everyone was praising Tony, he coldly said into the phone, "I want Tony Scott's name removed from the military district's list in five minutes!"

His voice was not loud, but everyone heard it. They all turned to look at him.

"It's that fool again. Did you hear what he just said? He said Mr. Scott's name would be removed from the military district's list in five minutes. The screen was not even turned on when he made the call. Is he being funny?"

"Ha! Who said he was better a few days ago? He seems to have gotten even worse. Did that fall make him even more stupid? Hahaha."

"I think he's been triggered. Will he hit his head against the wall next?"

Kayden glanced at those who were mocking him and asked, "What? You don't believe it? Just wait and see what happens in five minutes."

Tony looked Kayden up and down, smiling. "Are you sure I'll be dismissed in five minutes?"

"Sorry!" Georgia suddenly walked up. She grabbed Kayden's arm and said awkwardly, "What are you doing?"

Kayden looked at Georgia and said to everyone in the Adams villa seriously, "I just don't like it very much when someone uses the things I've done to show off. Actually, I owed Georgia those gifts, so I had someone bring them over. As for this contract, the head of the Atkinson family was once my subordinate, and I had him give it to Georgia to sign."

All the people in the entire villa fell silent, and everyone stared at Kayden with extreme shock.

Georgia felt utterly embarrassed. One can be poor or not have anything, but why say such outrageous things? She had already told Kayden once before, yet he still dared to speak like that.

Maybe it was out of jealousy. Seeing how Tony had given Georgia so much made Kayden so jealous that he started to brag ridiculously. But this wasn't what Georgia needed. She just hoped Kayden would keep his feet on the ground and be a normal person.

"Enough!" Old Mrs. Adams was furious. She stamped her foot and said to Kayden, "Get out! I don't want to see this useless person on such a happy day. What a buzzkill!"

Kayden was speechless. No one believed him when he spoke the truth. This family was indeed stubborn and foolish.

Suddenly, Tony's phone rang. He took it out and saw that it was from his superior. He quickly answered, "Hello, Commander!"

A strong, authoritative voice came from the other end, "Tony, you are to be permanently removed from the military district. Starting today, you are not to set foot in my district again. If you defy this order, you will be executed!"

Tony gasped. He was so scared by the word 'executed' that the hair on his back stood up.

He asked in confusion, "Why, Commander?"

The man on the other end said, "Don't ask too many questions. You've offended a wrong person. That powerful man wanted me to teach you something, disaster emanates from careless talk!"

The call ended abruptly.

Tony had entered the military district in the Southwest after his retirement only because his father used many connections. If his father knew about this, he would probably break his legs!

Just one sentence made him lose his position. Who had he offended?

Could it be him? Tony looked at Kayden, who just warned that he would be removed from the military district in five minutes. Things went as he said.

No, no, no, it couldn't have been him. He was just a fool!

Seeing Tony's grim expression, old Mrs. Adams asked, "What's wrong? Mr. Scott, who was that?"

Tony forced a smile and said, "It's nothing. It was my superior calling to tell me to go back next week, he had a task for me."

As the banquet began, Jamie and some others cast disdainful glances at Georgia's family. Only Scarlett, Georgia, and Tony were now standing close to old Mrs. Adams, while the others were sidelined. Old Mrs. Adams' attention was solely on them.

It could be said that Georgia had made a great impression in the Adams family this time. And her family was likely to rise to prominence in the future. The thought of Georgia could soon step on him made Jamie furious.

Kayden didn't miss the banquet. Since it was a celebration for his wife, how could he not be there? Although he was present, he was seated far from old Mrs. Adams. She was at the innermost, the main table, while he was seated near the door, at the corner table, where the atmosphere of celebration was barely felt.

But none of these really mattered to Kayden, for everyone here was nothing more than ants in his eyes.
