Chapter 15: On Your Knees!

This was one of the rare occasions when Jamie compromised. Georgia never imagined there would come a day when Jamie would speak to her in such a humble manner.

Seeing this, Old Mrs. Adams quickly said, "Georgia, you see, Jamie is young and ignorant, but he's sincerely apologizing now. You're his elder sister, so please be a little more forgiving. Forgive him, won't you?"

Before Georgia could speak, Kayden emerged from the room and said, "Not good enough! There's not an ounce of sincerity in this apology. How can a simple 'sorry' suffice? If he's going to apologize, he should be on his knees!"

These words drew astonished looks from all three. But Kayden remained as calm as ever, his face not betraying a hint of emotion.

"You idiot, what's it to you? If you know what's good for you, get lost before I teach you a lesson," Jamie vented his pent-up anger at Kayden, his eyes looking as if they could devour Kayden whole.

But Kayden stared straight at Jamie and said, enunciating each word, "I'll say it again. I am not an idiot!"

At that moment, the atmosphere in the room noticeably chilled. Even the worldly-wise Old Mrs. Adams couldn't suppress a shiver. Jamie, backed down surprisingly, quickly averting his gaze, unable to meet Kayden's eyes.

Seeing Kayden like this, Georgia hurriedly said, "Kayden, maybe we should-"

Kayden raised his hand to cut Georgia off. He said decisively, "He must kneel! If he doesn't, you won't sign the contract. Otherwise, you'll never have any standing in this family. My wife will not be bullied by a good-for-nothing."

His words were like pearls of wisdom, each one hitting like a cannonball, leaving Jamie speechless.

Old Mrs. Adams saw Kayden's determination. She could only clench her fists. For the sake of securing the contract, she had to go along with Kayden and Georgia's wishes. Moreover, this "idiot" seemed to have regained some of his memories. She turned to Jamie and said, "Well? Aren't you going to kneel?"

"Grandma?" Jamie looked up at Old Mrs. Adams, his face full of shock.

"Kneel!" Old Mrs. Adams spat out the word forcefully.

Despite his extreme reluctance, Jamie fell to his knees with a thud.

"Georgia, can you forgive Jamie now?" Old Mrs. Adams asked, her tone somewhat displeased.

Georgia looked to Kayden for guidance, as if seeking his opinion. Kayden nodded slightly, indicating it was enough. Only then did Georgia nod and say, "Alright, I forgive him."

"Now, what about the contract?" Old Mrs. Adams quickly changed tack, getting to what was truly important.

Georgia looked to Kayden again, as if she had completely lost her own judgment and Kayden was now her compass. Seeing that Kayden didn't object, she said, "I'll go talk to Mr. Robinson about it."

"Good, Georgia. I'll be waiting for your good news. Once the contract is signed, I'll throw you a celebration party at Royal Hotel." With that, Old Mrs. Adams and Jamie left Georgia's home.

Once outside, Jamie let out an angry snort. The rage in his heart was enough to kill a bull. One day, he swore, he would make Georgia and Kayden pay.

After Old Mrs. Adams and Jamie left, Georgia voiced her confusion, "How did you know only I could sign this contract? Do you know Mr. Robinson from the Atkinson Group?"

Kayden shook his head and said, "I don't know him, but I know the head of the Atkinson family."

Georgia's eyes widened in shock. The head of the Atkinson family was one of the most prominent figures in the Southwest, said to wield enormous power. Kayden was just a simpleton - how could he possibly know such a person? Could Kayden have a powerful background? Just as Georgia was reeling from shock, Kayden continued, "He used to be my subordinate."

Georgia was completely speechless.

She had thought Kayden's previous statement sounded reasonable, but now he was talking nonsense again. Clearly, he hadn't fully regained his memories and seemed to have fallen into another state of extreme arrogance.

"Actually, the gift sent earlier was from one of my subordinates. It was meant to be a belated gift for you," Kayden felt there was no need to hide anything from Georgia, so he explained about the gift sent by Greedy Wolf earlier.

But as soon as he finished speaking, Georgia quickly said, "Alright, Kayden, I know you have thoughts about the gift Tony sent, but I won't accept it from him. You should rest well. I hope you won't talk nonsense in the future. It's fine to say these things to me, but please don't say such things in front of others."

Kayden was instantly rendered speechless. Clearly, Georgia didn't believe what he was saying.

Kayden didn't bother to explain further. It would only make things worse. Perhaps only time could prove everything.

Early the next morning, Georgia went to the Atkinson Group to sign the contract.

As soon as she arrived at the entrance, Beckett was there to greet her. Besides Beckett, all the company's employees were present, standing in two rows facing each other at the entrance, each with a beaming smile.

At first, Georgia thought someone important was coming for an inspection, but then she saw a curved banner over the door that read "Welcome Miss Georgia to sign the contract."

Seeing the name, Georgia was still half in doubt, knowing there could be many people with the same name.

As she stood there in amazement, Beckett approached her. "Madam, I sincerely apologize for the incident last time. I failed to recognize your importance. Please accept my apologies."

With that, Beckett bowed deeply at a 90-degree angle to Georgia, appearing genuinely remorseful.

Georgia swallowed hard, unsure of Beckett's intentions. This was Beckett, after all - a renowned figure in Hiphia, not only wealthy but also influential. And now he was bowing and apologizing to her.

Feeling overwhelmed, she asked, "Mr. Robinson, what's this about?"

"Oh!" Beckett quickly said, "I've prepared the contract for you. Please, come with me."

He gestured for her to enter. Georgia looked at the rows of people, feeling as if she were in a dream. The scene before her was too incredible to believe.

Nevertheless, she cautiously walked in. As soon as she entered the company, Beckett immediately started serving her coffee, acting with utmost care. Then he placed the contract in front of Georgia and said, "Madam, please review it. If there are no issues, you can sign it. If you find any problems, feel free to cross them out and make changes."

Georgia was completely bewildered by this scene, feeling a bit at a loss.

However, she composed herself and read through the contract. Its contents were entirely in her favor, with seemingly no benefit for the Atkinson Group. As for making changes, there was simply no room for improvement!

"Mr. Robinson, isn't this contract too disadvantageous for your company?" Georgia asked, puzzled.

Beckett exclaimed, "Madam, how can you say that? It's the Atkinson Group's honor to collaborate with you."
