When all four of my paws were over, it felt my head was being squeezed together. I didn’t belong here. I stood up straight and walked towards my dad who was waiting with the rest.
He nuzzled his big head into my neck.
« You did great ». He informed me. I nodded in return.
« Let’s keeping moving, Alpha Tristan is expecting us soon », Mike notified us.
Again, I felt a tingling feeling start inside of me at the mention of Tristan’s name.
‘What does this mean ?’ I asked my wolf.
She was quiet at first, but then spoke, ‘….you’ll find out soon enough’.
What did she mean by that ?
I shook my head clear of thoughts and began to dash through the forest with my pack mates, towards the awaiting Alpha Tristan.
Never in my life have I felt as if something bad is going to happen. But right now that feeling is consuming me.
Alpha Mike halted at the fringe of the forest and told us to shift.
I did as I was told and shuffled to a near by tree and focused on my human legs and arms. Once I was in my human form, I untied my clothes from around my ankle and changed quickly.
I walked towards my father who was waiting for me. He put an arm around my shoulders and squeezed.
« How are you feeling ? » he wanted to know.
I gave him a small smile.
« I’m fine » I exclaimed.
Alpha Mike choose this moment to speak.
« Okay, so everyone follow behind me. Do not speak to anyone unless you have been spoken to ». He ordered. Mike began moving towards the the exit of the forest, but then turned back to us.
« And also do not look anyone in the eye ». He commanded.
He turned back and made his way out of the forest.
« Especially the Alpha ».
As we made our way over rocks and through a few more trees, we finally reached the Dark Moon packs village. No one was in sight.
« Welcome », a deep voice greeted. I jumped back in surprise.
There standing in front of us was a broad muscled man. No older than twenty-three.
I examined his dark almost brown, auburn hair that reached his ears. He had piercing ice blue eyes, that held no emotion. His skin was an olive tone color.
« Thank you », Alpha Mike replied politely.
I lowered my eyes to see them both shaking hands. Mike pulled back his hand and gestured to each of us.
« This is my Beta Will, third in command Joe, my best worrier Tim », he paused and turned to me.
« And this is Lucia Miller. Wills daughter ».
I looked to see surprise show in the mans eyes. He must recognize my name from being the daughter of the women who was murdered by their past Alpha, ten years ago.
He quickly masked his expression and introduced himself.
« My name is Noah, and I am the Beta of this pack ».
I took a deep breath and breathed in his scent. It was musky, and sure enough he did smell like a Beta. I breathed in his scent once again, but found another scent of someone else on him. It smelt of woods and something sweet. It was mouthwatering, all I wanted to do was roll in it.
My eyes widened. Could my mate be here ? I began to panic. No, no, no please. Please make my mate not be from here.
Noah began talking again.
« I hope you all had a safe journey », he stopped and looked at me, then looked back to Mike.
« The Alpha is waiting for you, follow me ».
With that he turned around and began walking to a clearing up ahead, leaving us to follow after him. I moved my legs forward and followed after Noah.
I looked around to see a few houses scattered about. They all looked beautiful and well built. Off in the distance I could see some more houses, but the house that stood out the most was the huge cream colored one that was isolated by itself near the woods. It was three stories high, with a balcony coming off the two French doors on the top story. I guess that this is the Alphas house.
We continued to walk a bit more before arriving at a massive clearing, where a big boulder was carved into a stage, where I’m assuming the Alpha stands.
Light wind whirled past me and I was bombed by that sweet, woodsy scent I smelt earlier. It was so much stronger here in the clearing.
My wolf started stirring inside of me, but said nothing.
As we continued to walk I noticed that the whole Dark Moon pack was seated in the clearing, some staring at us in wonder, while others looked at us in disgust. I keep my head down, not making eye contact like my alpha said.
You wouldn’t like to make the Dark Moon pack your enemy.
Noah lead us past the pack and up to the front. He stopped then turned to us.
« Stay here, the Alpha will be here soon ».
I lifted my head to the massive boulder in front of me and noticed Alpha Tristan was no where insight. In fact I haven’t seen him at all. I turned to my dad, who was standing patiently next to me.
« Dad ? » I asked quietly, only so he could hear. My dad faced me with his eyebrows raised, waiting for me to go on.
I leaned in a bit. « Where’s the Alpha ? »
Just as I asked, I heard footsteps echoing towards us. My father turned his head back and looked at the newcomer.
« Coming », dad replied as he faced the front again.
I knew who was coming. Alpha Tristan. I knew it was him as I smelt the powerful Alpha scent radiating off him. But what caught me most as he walked past me to the boulder was his scent. That sweet, woodsy mouthwatering smell, that wrapped around me like a blanket.
This is bad. This is very bad. I still haven’t looked at him yet as I still kept my gaze directed at my entwined hands. Alpha Tristan is not my mate. He can’t be. Fates wouldn’t pair me with such a cruel man. Would they ? Alpha Tristan wouldn’t want me anyway. I mean I’m just..plain old Lucia. Nothing special, and definitely not Luna material.
Oh what am I saying, Alpha Tristan isn’t my mate, he would notice and smell me as he walked past me before. I relaxed a little. But still didn’t look up at him as I could hear him now at the stop of the stage.
I waited for him to speak.
