Chapter 18 Too Naïve

Lyra furrowed her brow and glared at Stacy. "Miss Kim, watch your language. My position was personally approved by Mr. Lloyd. If you have any issues, you can take it up with him."

Stacy had nothing to say, only staring at her with resentment.

Unfazed, Lyra took a sip of her coffee and smiled. "Indeed, I may lack experience, but I doubt you have the qualifications to question my education."

Stacy chuckled and crossed her arms, mocking her. "Oh? Which third-rate university did you graduate from? Did you even complete your undergraduate studies? For positions above manager at Angle Group, we require at least a graduate degree. Are you qualified?"

"I didn't attend university. I was bored at the age of 14, so I casually obtained a Doctorate Degree in Manchester. I'm not sure if you consider it a third-rate university."

She spoke casually, as if narrating an ordinary event.

Stacy looked at her in astonishment, her face filled with disbelief.

Getting a Doctorate Degree from Manchester at the age of 14, was she even human?

If Manchester was considered a third-rate university, what did that make Stacy's alma mater?

Stacy's expression turned sour, and she forced herself to maintain her composure as she sarcastically remarked, "Even if you have a degree from Manchester, so what? In our line of work, we value work experience the most. Miss Carroll, whether you can hold this position is still uncertain."

After speaking, she swayed her hips and left.

"Hold on."

"What else do you have to say, Miss Carroll?"

Lyra looked at her coldly, raising an eyebrow with a meaningful smile. "Whether I can hold my position is not something you should worry about. This stack of materials contains outdated documents from several departments in the past five years. I request that Miss Kim carefully sort through them and provide me with the correct ones."

Stacy's pupils widened.

How... How did she know?

When she arrived, Stacy deliberately selected a stack of materials with complex formats, some of which were entirely in Spanish, making it impossible for a newcomer to understand.

She was skeptical, but still went forward to take the materials.

"And..."

Once again stopped, Stacy was starting to get annoyed, glaring at Lyra with clenched teeth.

"What else do you want, Miss Carroll?"

Lyra looked at her sharply, her smile full of meaning. "Just a reminder, it's Director Carroll."

Stacy's face turned incredibly ugly as she slammed the door and left.

Lyra chuckled and shook her head. She had learned these tricks when she was just a teenager. If someone wanted to play mind games with her, they were still too inexperienced.

[The Freeman Group, President's office]

"Mr. Freeman, we've located Miss Carroll's position."

Melvin had just finished a meeting when Fred entered, handing him a stack of documents.

"Our people traced her through Angle Group. She suddenly joined Angle Group yesterday, and it seems... her position is not insignificant. Today is her first official day of work."

Melvin's face darkened terrifyingly.

Divorced hastily, quickly found a job—was she being kept by Keith?

And she claimed to have a clear conscience?

She said it wasn't infidelity within marriage?

Thinking of this, anger surged in his eyes, and he suddenly realized he became a cuckold.

Dare to play with me? She was the first!

"Send me the address of Angle Group."

"Huh?" Fred was momentarily stunned before he reacted. "Yes, Mr. Freeman."

Sitting in the office, Lyra was familiarizing herself with the materials when she suddenly sneezed.

Someone was cursing at her?

That was probably Sheila, who she had made suffer yesterday.

She quickly refocused her mind and immersed herself in her work.

In just one day, she memorized the materials that would take others three days to read. When Stacy saw that she could leave on time, it infuriated her to the point of breaking a lipstick.

Lyra rubbed her sore shoulders and took the elevator down to the garage.

But... she came in Keith's car in the morning, and the new car was just placed in the garage in the afternoon. She forgot to ask for its location. How was she supposed to find it?
