Chapter 19 At Least The Bitch Is Poorer Than Her

Lyra held the car keys and pressed the unlock button layer by layer.

Finally, after twenty minutes, she found her new car.

Looking at the green spray-painted color scheme, she rubbed her chin and made two clicking sounds.

Although the style was somewhat outdated, it was still practical and decent-looking. And the color... so cool!

She liked it!

She couldn't wait to try out the new car.

Suddenly, a woman's sharp voice came from behind her.

"Oh, isn't this our amazing Miss Carroll? Let me see what car she's driving."

Stacy approached with a smile, taking a look at Lyra's ride and pouting in disgust.

"I thought it would be a good car, but it turns out to be a Volkswagen Santana. Miss Carroll holds a significant position, why not buy yourself a better car to treat yourself?"

Lyra smiled, seemingly unconcerned. "A car is just for transportation, practicality is all that matters."

Stacy rolled her eyes.

What practicality or impracticality, it was just an excuse. Isn't it because she's poor?

In an instant, her vanity burst forth, canceling out all the grievances she suffered from Lyra in the morning.

Regardless, at least this bitch is poorer than her!

She adjusted her wavy curls and approached Lyra, casually hooking her arm. "Director, I just recently got a new car. How about you take a look and give me your opinion on it?"

Without waiting for Lyra to speak, she pulled her by the arm and walked to a nearby parking space.

Lyra turned her head to look and saw a convertible BMW Z4. At a glance, it seemed quite stylish, but not very practical for commuting—it was purely for showing off.

Stacy noticed that Lyra only glanced at it briefly and quickly withdrew her gaze, wearing a disdainful expression. She coldly snorted and mocked, "Miss Carroll, I suppose you've never seen this kind of sports car before? This is the latest model, the BMW Z70. It costs 200,000 bucks even without any additional features. I really splurged on this one."

Lyra furrowed her brow.

How could this car be a Z70?

Stacy caught her expression and thought her words had provoked her. She even raised her chin, looking superior.

"Seriously, as someone in a director position, don't embarrass yourself. Our entertainment company often has celebrities coming back to visit, and your cheap car is a disgrace to Angle Group's reputation."

"Heh..." Lyra coldly chuckled and shook her head. Her face, lightly made up with red lips, looked incredibly enchanting when she smiled.

Stacy, on the other hand, was displeased. "What are you laughing at?"

"I'm laughing at your stupidity. You can't even tell the difference between a Z4 and a Z70 and yet you're here showing off."

Stacy was dumbfounded, looking at her with a serious expression.

Lyra walked behind her BMW and grabbed her hand, reaching into the exhaust pipe.

"What are you doing?"

Lyra held up her hand in front of Stacy's eyes. "Take a good look. The dirt on this exhaust pipe is old, not the color of fresh dirt."

Stacy quickly took out a wet tissue and wiped her hand clean, still not believing her words. "What are you trying to say?"

"It seems like you're really dumb. This car isn't a Z70 at all. It's an old model of Z4 from three years ago, and it's even the lowest trim level of a second-hand car. At most, it costs 50,000. If you don't believe me, find a professional second-hand car appraiser and you'll know."

Stacy's pupils widened in shock, but she shook her head. "Impossible! This can't be a second-hand Z4! You're just jealous and trying to defame my car. Do you think I'll fall for it?"

With the conversation reaching this point, Stacy still thought Lyra was talking nonsense. She was truly hopeless.

"Based on what you're saying, I guess you didn't buy this car yourself?"

Lyra paused, thinking of something, and her tone suddenly became serious. "Stacy, which executive at the company are you sleeping with?"

Stacy's face turned pale instantly. Burning with anger, she pushed Lyra away.

"I don't understand what you're talking about. It's nonsensical!" Then she quickly drove away.

Lyra watched the direction she hurriedly left in and became even more convinced that her guess was correct. She narrowed her eyes.

If there were such despicable high-level leaders in the company, whoever he was, he would face dire consequences!

She withdrew her gaze, turned around, and returned to her little Volkswagen Santana.

Just as she was about to open the car door a crack, a pair of hands with prominent knuckles pressed against the door.

A man's cold yet familiar deep voice came from behind her.

"Why doesn't he buy you a good car?"
