Chapter 10

Sunny

"Seriously?! Like seriously?!" Bobby burst into a fit of laughter after I told him my sad story of pretending to be a waiter for Sanaya the whole damn evening.

I, at my own brother's wedding, couldn't enjoy a single thing just because of my single lie to hide my true identity. I could have told her the truth right away but I didn't want anyone to know me. Not yet, at least.

"Don't laugh, man, do you have any idea what she made me do?" I gritted my teeth in complete irritation as I tied the laces of my blue shoes with my phone stuck between my ear and shoulder in an attempt to not let it fall.

"Shit yaar, I definitely missed an amazing scene of Sunny the waiter one." He mocked. I could sense him clutching his stomach in pain of laughter over the phone, "If I would be there I must have ordered you to get me a couple of things by myself."

"Shut up! This is not a joke, I am seriously stuck here!" I complain, "I didn't even want to come back home in the first place." I said, tying another lace of my shoe.

If I hadn't returned, I wouldn't have been facing this.

"Okay, okay, relax, listen to me, carefully, why don't you just run away from your house, from your dictator dad?"

I sighed in annoyance, taking the phone back in my hand, "If it was possible, I would have left home very early." I stated the fact.

"You don't have a reason to stay either." He said, making me think like yeah, what worse will happen if I left the house and decided to live life on my own terms and no one would be there to order me things.

"Yeah...Only you to face mini struggles like what you did yesterday, might have to do it your entire life." He added, mocking me again.

"Keep your fucking mouth shut, Bobby! And Keep your filthy bad ideas to yourself."

"Hey, I was just thinking of your good." He protests.

"I will see my good, don't pressure your stupid brain."

"Alright, no need to be angry."

"Hang up the call, I need to go somewhere."

"Where?"

I rolled my eyes in boredom, "To see, if my work has been done or not, I will get back to you later on." I told him and cut the call as I picked up my jacket and left my room.

Going downstairs, I found Deepak was there like he was waiting for someone. I didn't bother to ask since he is my dad's driver, he must be here for him.

"Khamma Ghani, chote Kunwar sa." He greeted me with a genuine smile.

"Ghani khamma, waiting for dad?" I still inquired to confirm.

He shook his head in no, "I was waiting for you."

My brows furrowed themselves, "Why?"

"If you want me to drop you somewhere." He trailed.

I denied him because, after my biggest lie, I can't go to that village again in my car because, I am sure, I will find Sanaya. Doesn't matter how much I try to avoid her but she always jumps in front of me anyhow and then blames me for everything. It's not that I am complaining about it. I started to like meeting her these days, God knows why even after hearing her taunts.

He nodded to me as I left the house and made my way to the nearby village which is hardly 30 minutes away from my house by a walk. It's good for my health too. Okay, it's just an excuse.

When I reached there, my eyes couldn't stop themselves from seeing the wonderful lighting and since it's evening here I can easily see how happy all these people are, it was like they were celebrating.

A big smile came across my lips when I heard a little girl saying to her dad about me, "Samrath Kunwar sa is so great, he brought lights in the village."

"Of course, he did what others haven't been able to do in years."

"I wanna meet him someday." She said, hopefully.

"I am sure, everyone does."

As I walked further, I just found people talking and praising me. I haven't done anything big, I guess, it was just my responsibility as a prince and the son of a king / future politician even tho, I haven't been paid for my work but the happiness on their faces is the biggest price I could ever get.

I peered at the old woman who was struggling to carry some vegetable bags in her hand. I wasted no time and ran to help her.

"Granny, let me help you," I told her, taking the bags from her.

"No, it's fine, my house is not so far from here." She says, giving me her wrinkled smile.

"Still, don't worry, I will drop them," I assured her.

She gleaned at me, saying, "It's hard to find youngsters like you these days who help old people."

"Not a big deal, I was just crossing this road anyway."

Sanaya

I was in the kitchen, cooking something for myself because Mom has gone to meet her friend and won't return until tomorrow morning. I still couldn't process that Samrath is actually a man of his words, I doubted him at first but now I am sure, he is worthy of being the next king. And since we villagers are super happy today we decided to do a mini celebration by arranging a carnival in the night.

So, I am doing my best to complete all my work and go there on time, enjoying everything.

"Sanaya dee!" I felt like I heard Latika's voice, "Sanaya dee!"

"I am in the kitchen!" I replied to her as she came to me, running yet panting hard, "What happened?" I questioned, baffled, seeing her sudden look.

"I saw him." She said, panting.

"Saw who?"

"Sunny."

His name was enough for my anger and irritation to raise themselves at the same damn time. I instantly turned around with the knife in my hand.

"What? Where?!"

This bloody stalker!

"I saw him roaming in the village while I was there to get some things!" She said, suddenly I sensed the excitement in her voice and amusement on her lips, "He must have come to enjoy the carnival too!"

My lips parted in shock, "No way! If it's true, then I am not going there!" I told her.

"But why? We'll get a chance to see him again!" She spoke like a girl who has a crush on a guy and is dying to meet him.

"That's what I want to avoid; meeting him! I can't tolerate his shitty flirting. "

She rolled her eyes at me, "C'mon, Sanaya, you know, flirting is a part of his daily behavior but deep down, we know, he is a nice guy with a kind heart who is handsome as well." She spoke, already daydreaming about him by looking up at the ceiling.

I snapped my fingers on her face to get her attention, "Don't forget you are just 10 and he is double your age, stop hitting on him!"

"Why? You wanna hit on him?"

"Yes-" I stopped when I realized what I just said in haste. I immediately changed my words but I was kinda late, "No, No, No, No, No!"

"Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes!"

"That's not what I meant!"

"Maybe, but that's exactly what your heart meant, you can't always hide your feelings…" She trails off in satisfaction.

Now, it was my turn to roll my eyes. I can never like that guy even in my dreams, let alone life; he is worse than anything in this world.

"Sanu! Are you there?!" It's my granny's voice, I think she returned from the market.

"Yes, coming!" I told her and left, after giving Latika a dead glare, "Yeah, Granny, you returned-" my words get cut in the middle when I saw the person, I decided to avoid with my granny, carrying the bags in his hands with the confusion yet more happiness and excitement expression was on his face of seeing me, standing in the front of him. And I was more likely shocked.

"Hey, it was surprising to catch you here." He said with an amused smile on his lips.

"You came to my house as well?" I inquired, annoyingly, walking up to him as he took a few steps back with a plastered fear on his face.

"Woah, Woah, Woah, girl, if you want I will go but you don't need to kill me!" He said, pointing at the knife in my hand as my granny came in between us, or else, I must have used this knife to slice him.

"Sanaya! He helped me, so at least, behave nicely to him." Granny scolded me, making Sunny giggled silently.

"I am sorry," I said, trying to control my temper.

"So, it seems like you kids have met each other before." Granny examined and we both nodded; me with frustration and Sunny with his usual flirty manner.

"Unfortunately," I mumbled under my breath.

"Most definitely." He replied, winking at me and granny didn't notice this since he was standing behind her.

"Okay, Sanaya, go and make two cups of tea for us." She ordered me.

"What?"

"Yes, Two cups, one for me and one for Sunny." She clarified, my mouth hanging wide in disbelief.

"No, I am fine, " Sunny protested and I was about to get happy before my happiness got ruined by my granny.

"C'mon, Sunny, you are just like my grandson, and since you helped me alot, at least, have some tea, Sanaya is good at making it."

His brows furrowed up in amusement, "Really?"

"Yes, Son,"

"if you are insisting."

I flashed him dead glares through my eyes only to get his wink again. I should put rat kill in his tea so he won't dare to bother me ever.

"And without Sugar and rat kill." He spoke my thoughts aloud in a mystic voice like he read my mind.

"I'll try." That was all I said, giving him a forced smile, getting his chuckle in return. I shrugged and left.
