Sunny

I was having a hard time, guessing whether she actually poisoned the tea or not, I can't trust her because of the pissed-off smile she gave me while handing me the cup of tea.

"Sunny, why are you not drinking?" Her grandmother asked me.

I flashed her a smile and pretended to drink with my shaky hands which went unnoticed by Sanaya as an evil smile reached her lips.

"So, Sanaya, when are you going to the carnival?" She inquired seriously.

"I…" Sanaya was trailing off.

"Sanaya dee said, she is not going anywhere," Latika rudely replied on behalf of her as she folded her arms on her chest.

"What, why?"

"I...Am...going, Granny, Latika must have got some misunderstanding." She replied, hastily while slapping Latika on the back of her head.

"Great, because I want you to take Sunny with you, give him a tour around our village, " Granny ordered, and my facelifted in a grin, "Since, he is new here, so he must get familiar with the surroundings."

Yes, I lied to her, it wasn't the thing I had decided but, I can't tell them I grew up playing around. Besides, I am indeed new in this village.

"Ohh, Granny, No need for it, why bother Sanaya because of me? I'll handle it." I spoke even though I knew she would stop me, and the same thing happened.

"No, you are not bothering anyone. The girls are going there anyway so they won't mind one more company, right?" Granny showed her eyes to Sanaya in a warning for her not to say no. I wanted to laugh but I controlled.

"Yeah, right," Sanaya confirmed in a low voice.

And that's how this monkey also joined us. I don't know but I always got a vibe inside of me to kill him so I can get rid of him for the rest of my life.

"Wanna eat ice cream?" Sunny offered, indicating at the ice cream stall.

Latika jumped in excitement, "Yeah, I want to."

I rolled my eyes to the other side before he could move in my direction to ask me but he did, anyway.

"And you, Sanaya?"

"Save your money, Sunny, remember, you left- I mean, your dad threw you out of the house and you are working here and there for the money." I taunted, turning around only to find that they had both already left to buy ice-creams, leaving me alone to talk to myself.

I shrugged and went in their direction, "How could you dare to ignore me?!" I asked, irritated.

"So you expected me to stand there to hear your bakwas? (Nonsense)" He retorted.

"No, but it wasn't bakwas-" he cut me off, by raising his right hand.

"Whatever matter I have is my lookout, so just say, which flavor do you want?"

His words almost shut me up, he's right, it's his matter, why would I advise him not to waste money. Alright! I was taunting him instead, "Mango." I said, biting my lips.

He bought three ice creams for us, he and Latika had chocolate and I took the mango one, we were silently finishing it up when Latika spoke again in excitement.

"I want to sit on that ride!" She pointed at a scrambler.

"Sure, let's go, " Sunny took her hand in his and led the way. I quietly followed them behind, noticing that Sunny must have left his house for his self-respect, unlike the story I made randomly, assuming his situation.

"Three scrambler tickets, please, " He told the man who was selling the tickets for the rides here. I wasn't gawking at him but I mistakenly peered at his wallet which was filled with a good amount of money, and while giving him his charges, he dropped his Identity card on the ground, and before I could read his whole name, he immediately picked it up.

I am only able to read, 'Sam' Is it his real name?

But who cares?

We made our way to the ride. I was about to sit with Latika when she refused me, saying, "Dee, I want to take the entire seat."

"Why? What would happen if I sat next to you?" I asked, putting my hands on the sides of my waist.

"What would happen if you sat along with Sunny for some time?" She retorted, she was almost there to get scolded when a man loudly told me, "Oh, Madam sits now, the ride is about to get started."

Sunny shifted a bit, giving me space to sit. I sat with him, frustrated by her childish behavior. We applied the seatbelts on us as I suddenly sniffed a good perfume smell, coming from none other than Sunny since I am sitting so close to him, I can easily say this is not an ordinary scent you can get at a local store, it was a perfume for which you need to save your monthly salary to buy.

"I smell good, no?" Sunny asked, amused as he caught me, sniffing his perfume.

I instantly composed myself, saying, "No, you smell like a shit."

"So, you smell shits as well? That too deeply?" He joked, laughing at me.

"You-" before I could say something back, the ride started and so did my anxiety, headache, and giddiness. How could I forget that I hate such rides which make me feel weak in no time?

However, I somehow managed myself, finding Sunny and Latika were shouting in utter joy, and here I was in the condition to fall anytime soon even if I dared to see from the window.

Suddenly, Sunny almost came on me, first, I thought it was a mistake until he did it multiple times.

"What the heck are you doing?" I questioned, trying to push him away.

"Sanaya, I am not doing it for any purpose, I didn't wear my safety belt right that's why it's happening." His explanation seems fake to me.

I struggled to get him away from me as I said, "You are a bloody liar! You are just taking advantage of the situation."

"No, I swear-" The ride stopped, cutting his sentence in the middle, I wasted no time and sprinted off, saying, "Goodbye, I am going home now!"

"Sanaya, Listen to me! Trust me, please, I had no bad intentions!" He shouted, coming behind me.

"You and your intentions both are bad!"

"You misunderstood!"

"No, now, I understand you."

"Sanaya!"

"Don't call me!"

Sanaya, don't go further, stop right there!!"

Who the hell is he to give me orders, huh? I increased the speed of my walking. Sensing him running after me.

"Sanaya, stop there for god sake!!"

"Stop giving me orders, you are not my boss! I told you not to call me either-" I got interrupted when I felt his strong arms enclosed around me as we both rolled to the other side on the ground, feeling the small pebbles and dust hitting our bodies before I could process what the hell he just did. I witnessed the giant wheel fall on the ground only a few inches distant from our bodies as people began to scream and started to run here and there.

I was having a hard time processing this.
