Chapter 6 Visiting Graves on Phoenix Hill

"Flynn drove his Lamborghini down from the top of Plenilune Mountain?" Kimber couldn't help but chuckle. "Miss, did you strain your eyes on Demon Island?"

"A stinky convict who can't even find a job, how could he afford a Lamborghini and live in a villa?"

"This is the most expensive area in Niarak, even the cheapest villa costs 50 million!"

"He can't even afford a brick, let alone live in a villa."

"You just called off your engagement! Why are you feeling so guilty about Flynn?"

Layla also laughed at herself.

How much money could Flynn have just gotten out of prison? How could he afford a villa on Plenilune Mountain?

...

The next day, Flynn woke up early to go to Phoenix Hill to visit his mother's grave. On the way up the mountain, he noticed an old man and young boy also making their way up.

The old man was wearing a traditional clothing and hunched over with each step accompanied by coughing sounds from his throat. The young boy supporting him had sharp eyes and was well-built.

Flynn quickly surpassed them, and as he brushed past, the young man seemed to sense Flynn's aura and turned to look at the old man as if seeking permission.

The old man cleared his throat and shook his head. "It's nothing. He's probably just here for a spring outing."

Flynn had only climbed halfway up the mountain when Edwin caught up with him. Yesterday, Flynn had told him that he was coming to Phoenix Hill today to visit his mother's grave, so Edwin had come early to catch up with him.

"Adrianna?" Edwin murmured in surprise when he saw the name on the tombstone. "Could it be such a coincidence?"

Flynn heard Edwin's words and asked, "What do you mean?"

"Oh, nothing," Edwin laughed. "Your mother shares her name with a woman who was involved in a big battle ten years ago."

"Ten years ago? A big battle? Tell me more!" Flynn furrowed his brow.

Edwin began recounting the events of the battle from ten years ago, his eyes filled with deep dread and astonishment.

"I've only heard fragments of it from others. Over a hundred grandmasters gathered in Niarak to kill a woman named Adrianna."

"The two sides clashed in the southern outskirts of Niarak, and in the end, hundreds of grandmasters perished while the woman in white left, severely injured."

"What's strange is that everything calmed down overnight after that battle," said Edwin with deep fear in his eyes. "There were no news reports or anything like it. It was like it never happened at all."

"It seems someone blocked all information about what happened."

Flynn looked serious now, "When did this battle happen?"

"It seems like the night before the Ghost Festival," Edwin thought for a moment.

"What? My mother was also injured that night!" Flynn's face was full of shock.

The incident happened in the middle of the night, and Flynn was sound asleep and unaware of what had happened.

When his mother returned, she was already seriously injured and passed away the next day.

They had the same name and were both wearing white clothes when they were injured. It was undoubtedly the same person!

But in his memory, his mother didn't seem any different from other ordinary women. How could she have such terrifying combat power?

Flynn furrowed his brow tightly.

His mother's identity was definitely not simple!

"Ah! It's really the same person?! Boss, did your mother ever mention that big battle?" Edwin also furrowed his brow tightly as he spoke cautiously.

Flynn shook his head, "No, I didn't even know my mother had such terrifying combat power."

Then he muttered to himself, "With the Clark family's abilities, it is impossible to gather hundreds of grandmasters or block such big news."

"Could it be that besides the Clark family, there are other forces pursuing my mother?"

Edwin nodded and added, "And the mastermind behind it all must have connections everywhere, with a terrifyingly vast background!"

Flynn's eyes narrowed and his rage exploded.

An overwhelming force enveloped them, making people's scalp tingle and their bodies tremble.

"Find the person who spread the news about that big battle!" Flynn commanded. "Whoever was involved in the assassination must die!"

His body was filled with an unquenchable rage!

Suddenly, Edwin felt a sharp drop in temperature around him, as if he were in the dead of winter.

Under Flynn's oppressive presence like a mountain peak, he lowered his head heavily.

Suddenly, a voice of complaint came from nearby.

Flynn frowned and looked over.

"Dad, why are you here again?"

"You're too weak to go out. Can't you ask your younger relatives to visit my mother's grave?" The voice was full of concern mixed with reproach.

"Owen, you too! How could you not inform me when he came out?" Another voice full of concern mixed with reproach sounded from nearby as well.

Not far away, a middle-aged man in military uniform helped an old man who had just climbed the mountain and sat on a huge rock. The old man's face was already pale, his mouth wide open, and his throat gurgling.

The sturdy young man stood beside them with his head down, apparently very wary of the middle-aged man.

"The elder is General Elis Pearce, and the middle-aged man is his eldest son Brandon Pearce with a colonel rank."

"The second son is Jasper Pearce, president of Aisino Bank."

"The Pearce family has a very loud reputation in both military and political circles in Niarak."

"The bald guy next to him is his personal bodyguard Owen Sharp. He has excellent martial arts skills," Edwin whispered.

"Aisino Bank's president?" Flynn murmured as if he had thought of something.

"Don't blame Owen. I didn't let him say it," Elis waved his hand slightly to indicate not to pursue it.

Brandon sighed helplessly and took out a thermos cup and handed it over, "I found the missing century-old ginseng according to the prescription. I have boiled it for you. Please drink it."

Elis asked when he heard this, "Miss Woods said that drinking this medicine can cure 80% of my illness. Is that true?"

"The divine doctor Woods never makes a mistake," Brandon affirmed. "She's a closed-door disciple of Lennon Porter, the medical saint. Her skills are impeccable."

"You can trust her completely," he added.

Flynn furrowed his brow and hurried over to them.

As Elis took the medicine soup, Flynn pressed down on his thermos.

"How dare you!" Owen reacted quickly as soon as he saw a stranger approaching him. He was filled with murderous intent and threw a punch at Flynn.

The wind whistled as his fist flew towards him.

Flynn caught it effortlessly and said coldly, "If you don't want to die, old man, throw away this medicine right now!"

With that said, he gave Owen a gentle push which sent him stumbling back three steps like he had been hit by a train.

Owen was shocked. He thought that with all of his martial arts training, no one would be able to defeat him, but here he was unable to defend himself against just one push!

It seemed that his initial assessment of his opponent being skilled in combat was correct!

Owen placed his right hand on his waist, as if he wanted to touch something.

However, Brandon had already pulled out a gun and pointed it at Flynn, shouting angrily, "Who the hell are you to question Dr. Woods' medicine!"

Edwin was shocked and quickly tried to defuse the situation, "Colonel Pearce, this is my friend. Please don't take offense."

"Your friend?" Brandon gave some face since it was Edwin, the billionaire, but still wasn't pleased, "Mr. Gallagher, people who can't control their mouths aren't worth getting close to. You better keep him in check!"

Edwin awkwardly smiled and didn't dare nod his head.

This guy was King of the Underworld! He couldn't even say a bad word about him!

"Ignorant!" Flynn said coldly, "The old man doesn't need any medicine for such a minor illness."

"Drinking this medicine will only harm him!"

They were just insignificant ants in his eyes. If he didn't have business with Elis' son, he wouldn't even bother with them!

"Not need medicine? Nonsense!" Brandon scolded angrily, "This is a prescription personally prescribed by Dr. Woods, how dare you question it?"

"Mr. Gallagher, if you don't take care of this guy, don't blame me for not giving face!"

Layla was the top healer in the southern region and a disciple of Green Liniment Ghost Doctor Lennon. She had cured countless difficult and complicated illnesses.

This young man was pointing fingers at her prescription, which was ridiculous!

Edwin sighed helplessly and whispered, "Mr. Clark, let's not worry about this matter anymore. It's getting late now; let's go down the mountain after the incense burns out."

Flynn sneered coldly and stood aside.

"Dad, that guy is just a show-off! Don't take his words seriously!"

Elis drank all of the medicine in one gulp.

After a moment, his body suddenly felt comfortable again and he could breathe easily.

"Hey! This is amazing! After drinking this medicine, I didn't feel suffocated!" Elis said with vigor in his voice.

Brandon was overjoyed, "I knew it! Miss Woods is a genius; her medical skills are beyond doubt!"

"Some people pretend to know something when they only know superficial things about medicine."

Flynn sneered disdainfully as he raised five fingers coldly, "The old man can still live for so long!"

"Five days?" Brandon's eyes flashed with a cold light as he spoke in a deep voice, "The old man is only in his seventies, there's no problem for him to live another twenty years."

"What's your intention in cursing the old man to death repeatedly?"

"It seems like my Pearce family hasn't offended you, right?"

Flynn didn't care and said flatly, "You'll be dead within five steps!"

"One."

"Two."

"Three."

After he finished speaking, he walked towards Adrianna's tombstone with a cold expression on his face. With each step he took, a number escaped from his lips...
