Chapter 11 The Distinguished Guest At The Pearce Family's Residence Is Him!

"Your family has managed to establish a relationship with the Pearce family, that's impressive!" Madeline couldn't help but feel envious when she heard Alan say this.

Elis was retired general and his eldest son was the captain of the Shipmeda State military district's special forces unit. His second son was the president of Niarak's largest bank. With such an illustrious background, few in Niarak would dare not give face to the Pearce family.

Alan being able to befriend such high society figures left Madeline in shock.

"It's nothing really, my dad even had drinks with Jasper just a few days ago. Our families are quite close!" Alan waved it off nonchalantly.

"Sis, look at Mr. Davies' connections; they seem to be boundless!"

"Compared to Flynn, Mr. Davies is like a dragon while Flynn is like an earthworm!" Scarlet exclaimed to Alan.

Madeline sighed as she realized that she and Flynn were never meant for each other. Their marriage was only forced by Matteo who tried to mold them together despite their differences.

As they spoke, the door opened revealing a middle-aged man wearing glasses who looked quite refined - Jasper - Elis' second son who was also Aisino Bank's president.

He frowned when he saw Alan.

"Hello, Mr. Pearce! You approved the Kaur family's loan, and we came to thank you," Alan bowed and smiled.

"Oh, the loan? It was nothing! Miss Kaur is too polite," Jasper looked at Madeline and said with a smile. "If your family has any difficulties in the future, just let me know. I'll do my best to help!"

"But my father has spoken. Today, only the guest who has cured his illness will be entertained here. You can go back now," Jasper closed the door.

"Ugh! Why did that dog Alan follow her? So unlucky!" Jasper spat on the ground and grumbled as he walked towards the Lakeview Pavilion.

Outside the door, Madeline wasn't upset about being rejected; instead she was excited, "Oh my god! Mr. Pearce not only approved our loan but also promised to continue helping my family!"

"Mr. Davies, I'm sure Mr. Pearce is just taking care of my family because of your family's face. You're amazing!"

Alan was stunned after hearing this but then laughed, "It's nothing really. The Pearce family still owes a favor to my family."

"I heard that Mr. Pearce Senior has an incurable disease and even after seeing many famous doctors it hasn't been cured yet."

"He recently approached Layla -the guest in his mouth- so it must be her!"

Scarlet nodded, "Layla is not only the heiress of the Woods family in Slatin, but she also cured Elis' illness."

"With Miss Woods' background and abilities, it's only right for the Pearces to close its doors to the guest!" The three of them understood.

Alan was in a good mood and pointed to King's Landing Restaurant just across the street. "The food at the restaurant across from here is good. How about we eat there?"

"Great idea! I heard that on the top floor of King's Landing, you can overlook half of Niarak." Scarlet added excitedly.

"And you can also see Lakeview Pavilion where the Pearces entertain famous scholars and artists," Madeline chimed in.

Scarlet pulled Madeline into King's Landing Restaurant while Alan followed behind them.

Meanwhile, at Pearce family's Mansion...

"Mr. Pearce, simple dishes will do. There's no need for extravagance," Flynn said calmly.

"Master Clark! Your words are too humble! You have given me great face by coming here," Elis insisted.

"If we were to serve only a few dishes, wouldn't that be disrespectful?"

Flynn smiled and didn't say anything more when he saw Elis was determined.

At that moment, Jasper arrived at Lakeview Pavilion.

"Who's knocking on the door?" Elis asked casually.

"Oh, it's Alan, the son of Davies family," replied Jasper.

Elis frowned and said, "I heard from someone who followed them that the Davies father and son lost 30 million at the beginning of the year while gambling in Astia, and their financial chain broke."

"The Davies family rushed to market a new drug without conducting a third round of clinical trials in an attempt to recoup their funds."

"Recently, some patients experienced serious side effects after taking it and were silenced by them using money," said Elis.

"Yes, the head of Davies family invited me for dinner recently and asked for 100 million in emergency loans. I refused," Jasper added with a hint of disgust on his face.

"That batch of drugs has been on sale for a month now. It won't be long before Davies' Pharmaceuticals goes bankrupt."

"And officials involved in illegally bringing this drug to market will also be punished!"

Flynn remained calm after hearing all this information. The fact that they were in debt by 100 million didn't faze him much.

It seemed like the end was near for Davies family anyway. He found it amusing how Paulina still held Alan dear despite everything going on with his family.

The topic about Davies' Pharmaceuticals ended there as everyone took turns raising their glasses to toast Flynn. He only took a sip but no one from Pearce's family felt slighted by his lackluster response.

The disease that even Layla couldn't cure, Flynn fixed in a matter of seconds, giving him the confidence to be proud.

Halfway through the banquet, the butler approached Brandon and whispered, "Mr. Hill heard that Mr. Pearce has recovered and brought something to visit."

"Why do you need to ask for permission?" Brandon's face darkened as he immediately became displeased. "Didn't we say no one is allowed except for Master Clark today?"

"I thought Mr. Hill was Mr. Pearce's adopted son, so I assumed it would be okay," explained the butler hastily.

"Okay?!" Brandon raised his voice suddenly and scolded loudly, "Even the female members haven't come to dinner yet! What makes Marcel Hill think he can just waltz in here with gifts? Get him out!"

The butler trembled with fear and quickly ran out of Lakeview Pavilion.

"Brandon, watch your tone when Master Clark is around!" Elis glared at him before apologizing with a smile towards Flynn, "Marcel is my comrade's son who entrusted me with his care after he passed away."

"This kid has never been disciplined properly since childhood and relied on my family's name to deceive people outside, which made him become arrogant."

"That's why he gets angry every time this adopted son comes up in conversation. Please don't take offense," he said while looking at Flynn.

Flynn didn't mind it much and chuckled, "Colonel Pearce wasn't only furious about this matter right?"

Since he arrived at the Pearce family's Mansion until now, Brandon had hardly spoken much or given any sincere smiles when offering drinks to Flynn; his expression was extremely unnatural.

Earlier, Brandon had an outburst for no apparent reason. It was surely due to some inner frustration.

When Flynn asked about it, Brandon felt relieved and embarrassed as he explained,

"My daughter has a strange illness that even the Dr. Woods couldn't cure. I was wondering if you could take a look."

"Of course! If you're not willing, then forget I said anything."

"Please tell me more," Flynn said calmly.

Brandon blushed and sighed,

"When my daughter is not having an episode, she's just like any other person."

"But when the illness strikes, her desires become extremely strong and her behavior becomes...wild...and reckless."

"And at its worst, she tears off her clothes..."

"Oh, this sounds like excessive yin fire. Let's go see her tomorrow," Flynn replied casually.

He didn't think it was a difficult case to treat and believed he could cure it in no time.

Flynn was pleased with how well the Pearce family treated him.

As they say: never bite the hand that feeds you. So he agreed to help Brandon and left him his contact information before politely declining their offer of more drinks.

Afterward, he went to enjoy the view from the observation deck.

"What a great view! The life of rich people is truly different."

Looking out at the magnificent Shipmeda River, Flynn couldn't help but feel a twinge of envy.

"Oh my god, isn't that Flynn?" Scarlet exclaimed upon spotting him on the observation deck at Lakeview Pavilion from King's Landing Restaurant. She was so shocked that she dropped her fork.

"Flynn is today's honored guest at Pearce family's Mansion!"

Flynn stood with his hands behind his back on the observation deck, admiring the breathtaking view of the Shipmeda River. He exuded an air of dominance, as if he ruled the world.

That was the Lakeview Pavilion of the Pearce family's Mansion!

Only esteemed guests of the Pearce family were allowed to ascend there.

Yet, Flynn appeared there!

Scarlet turned around, her face filled with confusion, about to share this shocking news with Madeline, when Alan spoke up.
