Chapter 10 Poor Thing

The scene erupted in chaos as Flynn stood his ground, much to everyone's surprise.

Olivier's face darkened, as he had never apologized to anyone before. But if he didn't keep his promise, how would he ever be able to make a name for himself in Niarak?

"I'm sorry," Olivier muttered through gritted teeth as he tore off his protective gear and slammed it onto the ground. He gave Flynn a menacing glare before storming out.

Madeline may have received an apology, but she was far from pleased. "Flynn, you're too aggressive! How could you hit him so hard?"

"I barely used any force at all! Don't call me for these childish games anymore," Flynn replied nonchalantly.

He couldn't be bothered with these boring people and left the gym with indifference written all over his face.

Madeline was boiling with anger and couldn't find her words. Scarlet tried to calm her down by saying that Flynn had stood up for her after all.

Alan wasn't happy with Flynn either but tried to console Madeline by saying that there was no need to get angry at such a person.

"Don't worry Madeline, I'll give Mr. Read a call later on and sort things out."

Meanwhile...

"Mr. Gallagher, do you want to grab something to eat?" Layla accompanied Edwin out of the club.

"No, let's wait until Mr. Kennedy comes back tomorrow and we can all hang out together," replied Edwin.

As they stepped outside the club, Edwin heard the commotion in the parking lot and squinted his eyes to see what was going on. Suddenly, he froze.

"Isn't that Mr. Clark?" he asked himself.

"Isn't your car parked in the underground garage?" Layla furrowed her brows in confusion as Edwin stopped walking and chuckled self-deprecatingly.

"I must have mistaken someone else for him. Why would he be hanging out with these kids?"

"Miss Woods, please stay. I'm leaving!" Edwin turned and headed to the underground parking lot.

"Oh my god! Miss Woods came to see Mr. Gallagher? Should we go say hi?" One of them exclaimed excitedly while another scoffed at the idea.

"Don't be ridiculous! Someone like Miss Woods wouldn't even look twice at us."

"I heard she's a master of both medicine and martial arts. Do you think she could beat Flynn?"

"What a joke! Miss Woods wouldn't waste her time competing with an ant like him. Just one glance from her would make him feel inferior."

Layla was drawn into their conversation but shook her head with pity when Flynn silently got into his car.

"It seems like I was right, Flynn can't even fit into this group's circle. What a poor guy."

Flynn left the club and returned to the Plenilune Mountain. By the time he reached halfway up the mountain, it was already late in the evening. Suddenly, he changed direction and headed towards a dense forest on the side of the road.

"Why are you hiding? Come out!" Flynn said calmly.

Swish!

In the darkness, four figures appeared with murderous intent. They were all dressed in black clothes with black cloth covering their faces and carrying long knives on their backs.

Flynn frowned, "Judging from your attire, you should be from Dark Night Temple. What are you doing here?"

Dark Night Temple was Northland's largest underground organization with all its power in Northland. Why did they come south today?

"Hehehe...if we run into you, then it's your unlucky day! Since that's how it is, we might as well make sure you die knowing why," one of them said.

"A wealthy young man from Northland has taken an interest in Layla Woods and paid us 1 million to kidnap her! Kid, prepare to die!" another added as they drew their knives quickly and approached him menacingly.

They had been investigating for three days and found out that Layla came to Plenilune Mountain every night. They planned to ambush her here and take her back to Northland for ransom.

Swish! Swish!

Four long knives, with a murderous aura running rampant, moved as fast as lightning.

Their sharp blades gleamed with a chilling light, tearing through the air as they approached.

Flynn remained motionless, with a cold smile curling up at the corner of his mouth as he said, "Is that all?"

He didn't even put the world's strongest organization, the Asura Palace, in his eyes.

How could he care only about the Dark Night Temple that ran rampant in the North?

The blade was less than three inches from Flynn's neck when he suddenly raised his right foot and stomped forcefully on the ground.

The movement seemed casual, but it contained tremendous power.

"Boom!"

Within a radius of ten meters centered around Flynn, a sudden gust of wind and huge waves were stirred up.

The four people from Dark Night Temple were shaken away like falling leaves.

Flynn jumped up five meters in place and stomped on the chest of an assassin.

Bang!

The mist of blood rose as the killer died on the spot.

"Second one!"

"Third!"

"Fourth!"

Flynn, like a whirling dervish, swiftly ended their lives. "Is Layla really that good? Someone offered 1 million to kidnap her, I don't understand..." Flynn shook his head and walked away as if nothing had happened.

Ten minutes later, Layla followed the immense energy fluctuations and arrived at the scene. As she unveiled the assassins, a moment of awe overcame her. "It's the Four Heavenly Kings of Dark Night Temple!" she exclaimed. "These four have been ruling the North for decades and few can defeat them. How could they die so easily in Niarak?"

"Moreover, I didn't sense any signs of a battle while I was on my way here. It's evident that this was a one-sided massacre!"

"Who could be this strong? Could it be Cruz, the God of War from the North?" Layla looked towards Plenilune Mountain where Cruz's mansion stood.

The Thodell Mansion was lit up like a palace and Layla knew that Cruz must have returned home. She often passed by Plenilune Mountain hoping to meet him someday.

"It really is him! It's too late today but I must visit him soon..."

Early the next morning, the Pearce family's residence was spotless and ready to welcome Flynn. Elis donned his new suit and stood outside with Brandon for an hour before Flynn finally arrived. The Pearce family greeted him warmly and escorted him deep into the residence.

At that moment, Alan led Madeline to the front gate of the Pearce family's residence.

"Don't worry, Madeline. My family has some connections with the Pearce family," Alan reassured her.

"We'll bring a gift as a thank you, they'll let us in," he added before knocking on the door of the residence.
