As soon as the bell rang, I hurried out of the classroom to avoid him calling me. Strangely Justine didn't ask me any questions about what had happened as what lasted minutes for me seemed to her barely a few seconds. Fortunately, the rest of the day went well, without crossing him, if we removed the fact that it was raining heavily.
I started my way to go to the bus stop which was quite far because I lived in the countryside so half the year my parents take me but if they work I go back by bus which is almost empty each time. However during this walk, I started a war against the wind and the rain with my umbrella.
Oddly, I had the impression that I was being followed so I turned my head and saw a man dressed all in black, hood on his lowered head. He seemed strange to me so I hurried on. But my fears turned out to be justified because the man was following me no matter what.
So I started to run when my umbrella flew into the air when my hand couldn't catch it. I ran to catch up with him when I saw the man in black reach up and catch him with disconcerting ease.
Every step this man took transformed my greyish-shaded world into a rainbow of color. One step red, two steps blue, then green, then yellow, then purple. Each of his steps made the rain dance in an enormous swirl of crystal.
I didn't know who this man was but he was going to change my life. I was sure of it.
I stood frozen in place like a statue when I saw that this man was my new math teacher. He came towards me with a slow but serene step and put me under the umbrella to protect me. At this moment the colors and the rain burst into small golden flakes.
- Hold. He said giving me back my umbrella as I stood there with my eyes wide open but I pulled myself together immediately.
- Thanks Mr. ? I forgot his name as usual!! I have a big problem remembering names but this is the most embarrassing time of my life.
- I said it in class, my name is Mr. Aubert and you are Victoria?
- Oh ! Yes sorry I have trouble with the names.
- It doesn't matter, but where are you going?
- I'm going to the bus stop right there. I pointed to the stop, which was barely ten meters away.
- I too take the number 3 bus.
- Me too... I was going to take the bus with my teacher for a moment which risked being very embarrassing.
- It's coming, hurry up if you don't want to miss it."
I started running until I got inside when my teacher was already sitting in his place showing me the seat next to him. But how did he manage to arrive so quickly? The bus was empty, so to sum it up, I'm going to travel 30 minutes in an empty bus with my teacher next to me...
