Chapter 3: Meeting The Other Girls
I refuse to look up at them. Vincent had left. Now, it was just Master Wilson, and Landon standing in front of me as I sat on a red velvet couch, fiddling with my thumbs. Master Wilson's arms were crossed as he looked down at me, his cold, piercing eyes watching me intently. Landon was flipping through some documents in his hands, checking to make sure I was completely assigned to Master Wilson.
"You have a room." Master suddenly said in a deep tone, not taking his eyes off me. I glanced up at him for a couple seconds, but once my eyes met his, my head immediately went back down. "Just like the other girls, you each have a small room you stay at. And I have permission to go in whenever I would like. You also have bathrooms between your rooms where you can use them." Okay, were we talking rules now?
"Um, I can explain the rest." Landon spoke up, and Master Wilson turned toward him, giving him a cold glare. "I know you wanted to gather the other girls so Maddie could meet them."
Master Wilson stared at him for a while longer, and then glanced at me, and left. Landon swallowed hard, and sat on the couch next to me, and I slowly inched away.
"Okay, you go to school here." He flat out announced, and I frowned at him. "Yeah, um, it's a small academy, with all girls. They came from other masters at different parts in Galea, and the professors there teach you guys about vampires, and how Galea works."
"So, it's not like, normal school?"
"Yeah." Landon looked around, refusing to look at me in the eyes. "Oh, and a couple helpful tips: don't try to run away. At all. If you do, Master Wilson has plenty of "punishments" on the line. He does that to all the girls. Also, don't refuse to do any of his orders, or anybody else's, in that matter. He gets angry quickly. Also, try to get along with all the girls. The last time a new girl came, a whole circle of hate started, and there were frequent fights."
"Why are you telling me all this?" I asked, and Landon frowned at me. "Aren't you supposed to be on Master's side, against me and the other girls?"
"No, you're thinking of it wrong." Landon looked around for Master Wilson nervously. "I'm not a vampire. Yes, everybody here knows that, and it usually doesn't mean anything. But I'm not like those other personal assistants, that are just as cold-hearted as masters."
I swallowed, sighing.
"Is there anything else I should know?"
"You might have to get an injection eventually." I squinted my eyes with suspicion. It didn't sound fun. "It's basically where Master Wilson gets some of his blood drawn from his doctor, Dr. Brown, and injects his blood inside your body."
"What's it supposed to do?" I asked, clearly confused.
"It's supposed to give you a less chance of turning into a vampire in case you ever get bitten." I nodded. "Not to scare you, but Master Wilson might bite. And he doesn't want any of his girls transformed. Although the injection doesn't always completely guarantee that it'll work, it just helps your chances by a lot."
"So, an injection is kind of a good thing?"
"I suppose, if you don't wanna be a vampire." I didn't want to. Vampire just reminded me of freaks. Doesn't that explain why I didn't want to come living down here in Galea?
"Will I ever get to see my mom?" Landon stared at me for a while, but he didn't have the chance to answer, because Master Wilson then entered, with 3 girls behind him.
The first one had strawberry blonde hair, with bouncy curls. She was pretty, but it looked like she wore too much makeup. She was a fake person, I could tell. The second girl wasn't much better, with straight, blonde hair, and some slutty getup. And the third, was much different. Straight, jet black hair, heavy, dark makeup, a grayish skin tone, black clothes. Your average Goth.
"Maddie.." Master Wilson made his way over to me, and once in front of me, grasped my hand in a gentle way, and pulled me to my feet. He stood behind me, his right hand resting on my right side, and it made me uncomfortable. "Meet Nora, Piper, and Amber." Nora was the strawberry blonde, Piper was the blonde, and Amber was the Goth. "These are my other girls, that you'll be getting along with."
His tone changed, and I think it was supposed to refer back to that story Landon told me, of his last girls getting in a big fight.
A little later, I learned that Nora and Piper were actually suck ups to Master Wilson. They were clingy to him, and I could tell it irritated him. Amber, on the other hand, was very distant, desolate to everybody. She kind of had her own thing going on, and I could tell she hated Master Wilson.
Shortly after meeting the girls, Master Wilson dismissed us or whatever. Apparently, he was going through a busy time with all his stuff, and he left us, and told Landon to take me to my room.
As Landon led me, the 3 girls were in front of us. Piper and Nora kept looking back at me, with almost disgusted looks on their faces, and then would start snickering. Yep, already hated them. But Amber was silent. She didn't ever look at me, didn't get in my way. I liked her better.
Landon led me up some stairs, into some more hallways filled with old decorations, and cherry wood and blood red walls. Then, he opened up a dark door, and there was my room. It was super small, with white walls, and cherry wood flooring. The bed set was nice though, although it was all white, it was a pretty bedroom.
"This is it." Landon muttered, looking over at me, watching me study my surroundings.
"What does he mean by saying that he has all permission to come in here whenever he wants?" I asked nervously, looking over at him.
"He does it with all the girls." Landon sighed as I sat on my bed, feeling the comforter with my fingertips. It was soft material, really soft. "If he feels like spending a night with one of you, that's what he'll do. Usually, he spends most of the nights in his own bedroom, but other nights, he sleeps with one of the girls." I flinched.
"So he's like a manwhore?"
"I won't answer that question, I'm not obliged to." I frowned as Landon made his way to my door. "Yeah, but he hasn't been doing that lately."
"Why not?"
"Nora and Piper just annoy him, and he hates Amber." My frown grew wider. Amber seemed pretty fine, she was just silent.
"Amber?"
"Yes. She's a vampire, just like him, which is one thing that bothers him, I don't know why. She's kind of reckless too, and she has a big attitude toward him. The other girls just suck up to him and cry when he hurts them, but when he does something to Amber, she fights back. She probably has the most miserable life here."
I felt bad for her. I wondered where I would be in Master Wilson's point of view? Annoying, like Nora and Piper? Reckless, like Amber? Perfect? Ugly? Terrible? I didn't know how he felt about me, now, he was kind of gentle and soft with me. But that could change at any time.
"Anyway, Bridget will come knock on your door when dinner is ready." Landon opened my door, and began stepping out. "Then, just go to the dining hall. Everybody meets there for all meals, which includes the master, the girls, and all the maids and servants."
"Who is Bridget?"
"Oh, just some black haired, green eyed maid." He shut the door, and I raised my eyebrows, looking down at my shaking fingers. She must've been the gorgeous woman that I saw earlier.
I lay back on my bed, staring up at the ceiling. This was gonna be my new life? Did my mother and siblings even know anything about this? How was I going to live with Master Wilson? Would he like me? And what about my new academy, the girls, and all this new information?
I still didn't like this place. I had to find a way to get out of it.
