Chapter 2: Master Wilson
My new home is a mansion.
That was the first thing that popped in my head as a black and red mansion loomed into view. It was in some sort of desolate place, surrounded by dark trees and grass. I sat in the back of a black vehicle, almost like a hearse, with Vincent and some other guy, a man named Landon Bondette. Apparently, Landon was the assistant of Ivan Wilson.
We made our way into the half circle that led us to the grand, front entrance. My body was trembling, I was sweating terribly. The place reminded me of a gloomy, concealed setting. I hated being in these places, I panicked.
"You will not meet Master Wilson right away." Landon declared. Surprisingly, he had a much lighter, friendlier voice than everybody I've met in Galea. In fact, I don't even recall once seeing fangs in his mouth.
"Why?" I whispered.
"Your Master is very busy." Vincent replied, and I shrank in my seat with his powerful voice. I wondered if there would be other girls here. Of course there would, Master Wilson was a very famous and powerful man, I'm sure I'm already his 8th girl.
We parked in the front. Vincent and Landon both began to get out of the car. But I stayed inside. I was not bound to go out there. I don't think I would ever be ready. The place horrified me to smithereens, and I was very hesitant about meeting the vampire I was forced to stay and live with.
Landon politely opened my door, and gestured for me to stand out. Wow, the first man, or person really, to actually give me some respect in this new country. I suddenly felt the urge to become his friend. He would most likely be my only friend in Galea.
I slowly stepped out, my body shaking more than it ever has. Landon gave me a small, reassuring smile, a sad smile, but it quickly disappeared as Vincent came around the car, straightening up his tie, and he silently headed forth to the front entrance. Landon began following him, but I stayed where I was, and he stopped, looking back at me.
"Come along, Miss Vega." He mumbled quietly, glancing nervously at the back of Vincent. I shook my head, and Landon sighed, and approached me slowly, and grabbed my wrist in a very gentle way, and tugged me forward.
By the time we were finally behind Vincent, he was already talking to the two muscular looking guards that stood at the large entrance doors. Once he explained to them, in some sort of different language, maybe Russian, they nodded silently and opened the doors up, giving me glares.
I swallowed, and Landon put a hand on my lower back and pushed me forward gently, and I took small steps behind Vincent as we made our way inside.
The inside would remind you of any old fashioned vampire horror film. The walls were deep velvet red, the floors were dark, dark wood, and dim candles lit the dark atmosphere. There were pictures hung up on the walls, of maybe famous vampires, pictures of Galea's landscape, etc.
The smell was very musky. I could taste the scent of blood in the air. It was heated, very heated, which didn't help with my nervous situation, where I was sweating up a storm. Vincent walked down some long, dark hallway, and I peered at everything, Landon close behind me.
Suddenly, we were in this large, towering room. The ceiling was maybe 30 feet above us, large, glass windows plastered near the top of the walls. A huge, cherry wood table was planted in the middle, with a blood red tablecloth, and cherry wood chairs.
"This is the dining hall." Vincent exclaimed, glancing back at me, a dark look in his eyes. "This is where you, your master, his servants, and the other girls will eat." Other girls.
"How many other girls are there?" I whispered.
"3." Landon whispered lowly behind me. 3? Only 3?
"Why so little?" I whispered as Vincent led us into what seemed like a living room, with the same colours and appeal.
"Master Wilson once had 8 girls." Landon replied, glancing at the back of Vincent's head. "It was too much to handle. They all clung on to him too much. For some reason, almost every girl that comes here falls in love with him, and they become too clingy."
"Why would they love him?" I asked. "They should hate him for what he has done."
"Something about him." Landon muttered. "I can't believe it myself, either." As he talked, I focused a lot on his mouth. He was not a vampire. He clearly had no fangs to present.
"So he just sold them?"
"Yes. Masters have the option to sell their girls to other masters, or put them in auctions, in return for a new girl. But Master Wilson didn't want another girl. He just wanted to get rid of some."
He seemed like a cold-hearted man. I was becoming more and more afraid of him, so I stopped asking Landon about him. I guess I would eventually find all that out later.
Vincent stopped in a smaller living room type place, and he told me to sit down in the one seat. I sat down, nervous, and he turned toward Landon.
"Come with me." Vincent told him. "We are going to go check to see if Master Wilson is available now."
I wanted to puke as they left. I looked frantically around. I had to run. I had to escape. As I stood up, I saw a woman, with long, black hair, small curls at the bottom, walk past the room. She turned to look at me, but didn't stop walking. I first noticed her bright, green eyes that made her complexion, her hair, everything stand out in her. She was gorgeous.
She wouldn't be one of the girls, right? If she was, I had to meet her. I was longing for anybody, and I needed her. She was also dressed in a blood red dress, a silky one. She vanished almost immediately, as if she was never there. But I knew she was real. She had to be.
I went back to looking for an exit. There was a door, near the corner of the room, and I hurried over to it, and opened it quickly, ready to sprint.
But I couldn't. A strange, attractive man stood there, looking down at me with ominous green eyes. I stared up at him, trembling with fear. He was much taller than me.
"Maddie.." Master Wilson mumbled. "How nice to see you trying to escape the second you hear I'm coming for you.”
