Chapter 2: Because I Find It Dirty

Ivy sat beside the man, but she no longer felt the usual happiness and sweetness.

Just thinking about the woman he brought back during the day made her feel nauseous.

The man's words still echoed in her ears: "She's pregnant. Let's get a divorce."

She couldn't eat a single bite.

Old Mr. Zane suddenly spoke up, "Dillan, you've been married for a year now. When are you going to give Ivy a proper wedding? Don’t make her feel like she’s been treated badly."

Ivy remained silent.

Dillan, with a perfunctory attitude, said in a deep voice, "Let's wait a bit longer."

Once the divorce procedures are done, there won't be any need for a wedding.

Old Mr. Zane's smile vanished instantly, and he snorted coldly, "Wait, wait, all you know is to wait. I’m just itching to have a great-grandchild. When are you gonna give me a little one?"

This time, before Dillan could speak, Ivy looked up and smiled, "Grandpa, your great-grandchild will be here soon."

Dillan's handsome face tightened as he looked at the woman beside him. His cold gaze seemed to warn her: If you dare to speak out of turn, I won't forgive you!

She pretended not to see it.

That woman is pregnant, isn't she? Old Mr. Zane should soon have his great-grandchild.

As for her own baby... the surgery was scheduled for tomorrow. It was truly ironic.

"Really? You have plans? That's great! I'll find a master to name my great-grandchild tomorrow," Old Mr. Zane said with a broad smile.

After dinner, she and Dillan left the old house together.

Outside the old house, Dillan called out to her with disdain in his voice, "Don't tell me you're planning to get pregnant and use Grandpa to save this marriage."

Ivy looked calm, "No."

"Then what did you mean by saying that to Grandpa?" He squinted his attractive eyes slightly.

"Your lover is pregnant. Aren't you planning to tell Grandpa?"

He thought Ivy was up to something, but it turned out he was overthinking it?

Dillan let out a cold laugh, "Of course, I'll tell Grandpa. My lawyer will come to you tomorrow to handle the divorce procedures. Whatever compensation you want, I can give you, including the villa you're living in now."

"I don't want any of your things. Please handle the procedures tomorrow morning; I have other things to do."

On the surface, she seemed calm and composed, but her heart was bleeding.

After the divorce procedures, she still had to go to the hospital for the surgery.

How did her life turn out like this?

Dillan's expression remained indifferent, "Suit yourself." With that, he turned and left.

The next morning, the lawyer sent by Dillan arrived at the villa early in the morning to handle the divorce procedures.

He presented a divorce agreement for her to sign.

"Mrs. Zane, just sign here. These houses, cars, and bank cards are all compensation from Mr. Zane. He said you can dispose of them as you wish," the lawyer said truthfully.

Ivy didn't even look at them and signed her name on the last page of the agreement.

"Please tell Dillan that I won't take any of those things because I find them dirty."

The lawyer was stunned but nodded.

After seeing off the lawyer, Ivy packed her suitcase and took one last look at the villa she had lived in for a year.

Everywhere bore traces of her presence, and she felt a bit reluctant.

She probably wouldn't have the chance to come here again in this lifetime.

Standing in the living room, recalling the scene of Dillan bringing the woman home yesterday, she couldn't help but feel nauseous.

Dillan, this is it for us in this lifetime. We'll never meet again.

...

Hospital.

Ivy arrived at the hospital at the appointed time for the abortion surgery.

"Ivy, it's your turn. Come in."

Hearing the nurse call her name startled her. She stood up.

Touching her flat abdomen, she felt like she was killing a small life and felt a deep sense of guilt.

Ivy lay on the cold operating table. The doctor had a cold attitude: "Lie down, take off your pants, spread your legs..."

She mechanically followed the doctor's orders.

She didn't know if it was an illusion, but she suddenly felt a movement in her abdomen.

But it was only seven weeks into the pregnancy; how could there be fetal movement? It must be an illusion.

Ivy closed her eyes, and memories of her past with Dillan flooded her mind, filling her heart with dense hatred.

Suddenly, she heard a childish voice calling out, "Mommy!"

She abruptly opened her eyes and looked at the glaring surgical light. An idea suddenly came to her mind.

She jumped up and rushed out of the operating room...

Four years later at Ewrodon Airport.

"Are you out yet? We're running out of time. We need to go talk about this case first; it's a big client and we can make a lot of money."

"Okay, I know. Come pick me up."

Ivy wore black sunglasses that covered most of her face. She pushed a luggage cart with a yawning little boy sitting on top.

This was her son, Ian Yancey. He was three years old and looked more and more like that scumbag.

"Mommy, I'm so sleepy..."

"Ian, Mommy has to go to work soon and doesn't have time to settle you down. You'll have to come with me. Be good, and I'll take you for something delicious afterward."

She coaxed him as if he were a baby.

Unexpectedly, the little boy rolled his eyes at her. "Mommy, I'm already three years old. I get what you’re saying when you talk like you usually do. Besides, when have I ever been naughty?"

Sometimes Ivy felt that not only did her son look like that scumbag, but even his temper was similar.

"Ivy! Over here!"

Henry King, who was responsible for picking them up, waved at them.

Ivy smiled and pushed the luggage cart over.

Henry took over her luggage cart. "Let's go talk to the client first; they seem to be getting impatient."

"Let's go."

Half an hour later, the car slowly stopped in front of a skyscraper.

"Ian, you mustn't run around. Otherwise, Mommy will get angry and make you stand in the corner!" Ivy reminded the bouncing little boy beside her again.

"I know, I know. Mommy, you're so naggy."

Mother and son walked into the lobby on the first floor.

However, after four years had passed, Ivy didn't know that this skyscraper was now Zane Corporation's new location.

In other words, Dillan was also in this skyscraper at this moment.

Henry approached the front desk. The receptionist greeted them with a smile: "Hello, do you have an appointment?"

"Yes, Henry from Equity Law Firm," Henry said.

Ivy's eyes caught sight of the large letters behind the front desk: Zane Corporation!

Her expression changed instantly. Her eyes were filled with surprise as she looked at Henry: "So our client is Zane Corporation?"

"Yes." Henry hadn't realized the seriousness of the situation yet.

At this moment, Ivy had an urge to turn around and leave.
