Chapter 2: Finding Hybrid

She woke up when her alarm rang. She knew she doesn't have to wake up early since Alex gave her days off. At first, she declined it but he treated her by cut her allowance.

Alora doesn't have any choice so she just accepted it. She turned off the alarm and goes do her routine.

She let water pour on her. While she was showering, she thought of Alex's words yesterday. Alora stared at her hands.

Get...a hybrid?

Well, it's not bad. Most hybrids are nice, some are not when brutal humans abused them and treated them like slaves. Alora has wanted a hybrid since she was a child. Unfortunately her parents didn't allow that and she respected their decision. After they passed away, it wouldn't be a burden to have one. Not gonna be rude. She loves her parents though.

"Hmm. Alex was right. Maybe I should adopt a hybrid." She talked to herself.

She put on a black hoodie and black jeans. She didn't care about her hair because it was short after broke with Matthew.

After doing her makeup, she grabbed her phone and called Alex.

"Lora, I told you already. I give you a day-"

"Where did you get Yui?" She interrupted him.

"I can't stop your habit from cut people's sentences. Anyway, why you ask?" He asked curiously.

"I want to adopt a hybrid. You are right. I might feel alone and I need to interact with a hybrid other than Yui." She answered while going to the kitchen.

"Oh. That's surprising. Well, I got Yui from SPOHY." He stated.

"What was that? It sounds funny. Can you tell me straight?" She groaned.

"No wonder why you are so dumb. Yah, stupid. I said I got Yui from SPOHY, SHELTERS AND PROTECTION OF HYBRID!!!" He yelled.

"Geez. Sorry. I don't know about it, okay." Alora said.

"I will send you the location and good luck on finding the right one!!" He hanged up after that.

She took a breath and opened the fridge and almost yelled when she saw nothing in it. Looks like she forgot to get groceries yesterday.

She goes grabs her things and her backpack. After locking everything, she went out.

Once again, she checks the address that Alex gave to her. It was right. The place is so big and makes her jaw drops.

"No wonder why it's called 'Shelter'." She mutters.

She takes a deep breath and walk-in. Soon she walks in, a smile appeared on her face. This place is amazing. She can see a lot of hybrids live happily.

It seems like school also.

"Excuse me?"

Alora jumps in shock and saw one of the co-workers. "Um...you look lost. Do you need any help?"

"Oh. Uhh...well, actually, I come here to adopt hybrids." Alora spilled it out.

"Oh really!? Gladly you talk with the right person. I'm in charge of that." She pulled her hands out. "Nice to meet you, I'm Mina."

"Nice to meet you too. I'm Alora Watson."

"Wait. I did hear that name before. Maybe I'm mistaken." She giggles.

"Are you talking about...Alex Watson?" Alora asks.

"Aha!! Yes!! Wait. Did you relate to him? I know him because he adopts one hybrid and her name is Yui." She speaks.

"He is my twin. Yui is a great hybrid. She is sweet." She smiles at her.

"Aww. I miss that girl. Anyway, follow me. Maybe you can look around and see what catches your eye." Mina said while leading her the way.

"Hybrid here look...happy." Alora spokes.

"Yeah. Sadly, there's a lot out there being abused and homeless. But, we never stop to find and help them." Mina responds.

"That was awesome." She chuckles. Mina winks at her.

An hour later

She let out a heavy sigh. Mina looks at her with concern and sits beside her.

"Are you okay? Maybe we can take a break first?" She suggested.

"I'm not tired. I just...why there's no one caught my eyes? No offense but I couldn't bring them home with no feelings at all." Alora spilled it out.

"I know what you mean. Would you come back tomorrow morning?" Mina told her.

"Probably. I can't promise you."

"It's okay. This is my card. Call me if you need anything." Mina gave her a card and bowed. "I'm ready to help you." She bowed again and walked away.

She puts her card inside her pocket and walks away. Hybrids here is cool and awesome but, she wants someone who can make her feel...undescribed.

While she thought of that, she stops walking as heavy rain pouring outside.

Great.

She takes out her umbrella and continues walking. She just looks around and saw some people have their hybrid. Hybrids are more loyal to you than human.

That's why they are special.

How she wishes to have one! If Alex and Yui get married in the future, she will end up alone.

Thinking about that, Liam comes to her mind. She stops walking and shakes her head.

Stop thinking about him, Alora!!!

She held her head and groaning. Suddenly, she heard something break.

"COME BACK HERE!!!" That old guy throws a glass at one...man?

There's a wound on his thigh and he keeps forcing himself to run. He wears a hoodie so she couldn't see his face.

"You stupid hybrid!!" That old guy yells again.

'Wait. Did he just say...hybrid?'

Without thinking twice, she goes to help that hybrid. He accidentally falls on the ground and drops a lot of the food he holding.

Stealing?

"Got you. I will never let you go!!" The old guy almost hit him but Alora stands in front of him. "What the-"

"Stop. Don't make me call the police." She glares at the old guy.

"Call the police?" He scoffs. "That hybrid is the one who you should report to the police. He steals my bread and my other food!!!"

She glances at the hybrid who keeps looking down. "It doesn't mean you have to hit him. Now, let me pay for him. How much he stole?"

"Tch. 75."

She gave him extra and tell him to behave next time. That old guy just sneers and walks away.

She turns around and covers the hybrid with his umbrella.

"Are you okay?" She asks.
