Javier

“Over here, buddy!” My friends waved as I walked into the club. Girls rushed over and kissed me. Yeah, I’m a player—so what?

“Man, I love this place! Tons of new girls tonight. Hot ones! Who’s the lucky lady sharing my bed later?” I licked my lips, staring at the bar.

“Bad boy!” My friend Sam slapped my shoulder, teasing.

“Why are you still just drinking? Learn from me!” I smirked and tapped his head.

“Pick a wife, for God’s sake!” Sam squealed.

“Sam, you’re a buzzkill! You sound like my second mom with all this advice!” I frowned.

“So what? You hook up with a new girl every night. Enough already! I like girls too, but I stick to one. Not desperate like you, Chicken Javier!” Sam joked.

“Stop being weird! I’m hitting the bar. You stay here with your bottle. Drink alone, dude. Me? I don’t just look—I touch and taste ’em all. Watch me!” I winked at Sam and headed to the bar.

I knew a lot of the girls, but I loved the new ones. I’m a one-night-stand guy. Sleep with the same girl twice, and I might catch feelings.

After way too many drinks, everything got blurry. I saw a gorgeous face walking in from across the club, heading my way. Then I blacked out.

Next morning…

I opened my eyes slowly, rubbing them. My head was killing me from last night. I rolled over in bed and bumped into something.

A devilish grin spread across my face. Must be a hot girl. Gotta check out her body and face—I didn’t remember anything.

I was hammered last night. That’s all I knew.

“Damn, this butt’s so soft,” I bit my lip, running my fingers over it and squeezing.

The person next to me turned. “Good morning, honey.”

I swallowed hard and jumped out of bed. “What the hell? Who are you? Why are you naked in my bed?” I stuttered, covering myself with the sheet.

She sat up, frowning. “You’re kidding, right?”

She looked super young! Gorgeous, but way too young. I could go to jail for this.

“No way! I don’t know you or what happened! Get out—now!” I yelled, scratching my head, trying to remember. Nothing. The shock was pounding in my skull.

I looked around and spotted the disaster. “What the hell is that?”

“It’s obvious! Can’t you read? It’s a marriage certificate! We got married last night! How do you not remember?” She crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow.

“No way! How? When?” I cleared my throat, speechless.

Married? Me? No!

“I can’t believe you forgot. You begged me for hours to marry you. I’m Berry.” She winked.

“Berry? That’s a name? No, I’m not married to you!” I shrieked, grabbing her clothes and handing them over. I nudged her toward the door.

“Stop, Javier! I’m your wife now. You need to divorce me to get rid of me—and it won’t be easy!” Berry said.

“Fine, let’s go sign divorce papers now.” I grabbed her arm, but she pulled away.

“No, sorry. I don’t want to be a one-night joke. People will laugh at me—a marriage that lasts one night!” Berry stepped over to a chair and started getting dressed. Damn, her body was sexy, but no way.

“So what do you want for a divorce? I don’t even know you!” I banged my head against the wall to see if I was dreaming.

She laughed, then got serious. “I don’t want a divorce.”

“Get out of my house! I don’t know you!” I pointed at the door.

“Fine. Then I’ll take half of everything you own. You signed this!” She nodded, then walked around, checking out my living room and the antiques.

“No, you can’t! Is there another option?” I yelled, huffing.

“Yes! Let me live with you for a month. If you don’t fall for me, I’ll leave your life.” I sighed, arms crossed, staring at the floor. I checked the certificate again—yep, my signature.

No choice.

“Deal,” I nodded.

She stepped close and rubbed my chin. “Good husband.”

She was a huge tease. A hot, sexy, gorgeous tease.

I stuttered, “What happened last night? Positions? Did we use a condom? Were you a virgin or…?”

“Relax, I’m your wife.” Berry winked.

No answers!

I sighed in relief. “Thank God. Were you a virgin? We did it—I was good, right?” Curiosity was killing me. First time with a virgin, and I couldn’t remember.

“You were perfect! But I’m not a virgin. You’re not my first. I have a boyfriend.” Berry sighed and walked away.

What? She’s joking! Why marry me? Why not divorce?

Right then, I was about to call Sam, but he burst through the door. He had a key for emergencies.

“Good morning, Berry. Good morning, Javier.” Sam smiled and kissed Berry’s cheek.

“You know her?” I stared, eyes wide.

“Of course! You begged her for hours to marry you. I tried to stop you, but you wouldn’t listen. The second Berry walked in, you glued your eyes and body to her. I called the judge to do the wedding late last night. It’s real. And you owe me big time.” Sam laughed.

“Owe you? I should punch your stupid face! Me, the player, married to a kid like her? You ruined my rep!” I sulked.

“Anyway, I called your dad. Told him you’re not coming to work. He asked why, so I said you got married. Guess what—your mom invited you and your wife to a fancy dinner tonight. Have fun!” Sam teased, tapping my shoulder.

I glared, clenched my fist, and punched him. He flew back a meter, sliding across the floor.

“Javier, I’m gonna shower and get ready to meet your parents.” Berry winked, walking past slowly. I shook my head and drooled at her butt. What a body. Her face was stunning too.

“Dude, the second you saw Berry last night, you kept saying, ‘That girl’s a goddess! I gotta marry her!’” Sam said.

I grabbed my hair. “God, she’s gorgeous, but I don’t want to be married!” I muttered.
