I debated how to dress today. I had double meetings.

One to inform me, one to teach what I was just informed.

So I needed something comfy. But breathable since it would be 89 outside.

I hummed, pulling a nice black dress over my head.

I pulled up the flat line so my cleavage wasn’t showing.

« Hey babe. So… after last night how’s today gonna be ? » Ally smiled, sitting on the toilet seat of my bathroom as I began doing my makeup.

« Awkward. I literally accused a big ass, gay man, of taking photos of me who also happens to be my boss and literally the man who decides my working status. So you can add embarrassing to that list. » I put on mascara, lipgloss, eyeliner, and highlight.

« God I can’t imagine. » She laughed.

« It’s terrifying because I have to pay attention today and I’m gonna be so screwed. » I whined.

« Well, have fun with that. I’ve gotta go to work as well. Thank you for letting me stay over. » She kissed my cheek and I smiled, pulling my black heels onto my feet.

« Bye. » I sighed, brushing my hair up into a clean/messy bun.

I grabbed my things, getting in my car after locking my house’s door.

I made myself a cup of coffee, a dark frame filling the space beside me, scaring me.

« Oh-«  I put my hand on my heart when I realized it was Mr. Zara.

« I apologize for the sneak up, but excuse me. » He pointed to the foam cups and I moved, putting creamer in my coffee.

« You seem… stressed. » He said, his voice very gentle, making me want to spill the boiling coffee all over him for starting conversation.

« Long morning. » I have a short smile.

He chuckled.

« Well there’s donuts in the meeting room if you’d like to grab any before the other animals take them. » He let me know.

« I appreciate that. I know- uhm- I apologize for my behavior. » I looked at him and he tilted his head, his hazel ish eyes pinning me on the spot.

« Yeah, you’ve been… strange. » He looked slightly amused with the way the corners of his lips were slightly turned up.

« Things have been strange yeah. But I thank you and Mr. King for being so patient, giving me chances to not be a royal screw up. » I nodded, moving baby hairs from my vision.

He smiled.

« It’s no problem little love. I appreciate your apology. I hope things get, less strange, for you. » He have me a soft smile.

They won’t.

« Thank you. Now I’m gonna take advantage of the donuts. » I turned on my heel and walked away, my heart lodged in my throat.

I grabbed my planner and notepad, sitting in the meeting room where I typically did so I faced the projected head on.

« I’ll pay attention today. » I murmured to myself as I stole a glazed donut, setting it on a square napkin.

It would be just fine.

« Davina. » Mr. King walked in.

I can never catch a break.

« Mr. King. » I nodded, trying not to think about anything too much.

« How’s your morning ? » He asked.

Weird as hell.

« Good, yours ? » I returned the respect.

« Pretty good. » He set up the laptop on the table, getting it hooked up to the projector.

Mr. Zara came in also.

« Are you able to get it ? » He asked King.

« Nope. » He laughed, both of them taking turns clicking buttons.

I couldn’t help but think what everyone always did.

Them. Together.

I felt as though it was uncommon for two giant men like themselves to be together.

And their membership at the sex club made me more curious.

Because it was a hard thing to imagine.

With a few google searches I’ve made when I began working here, they’ve confirmed obviously that they’re together, but I wondered if they’ve ever spoken about their sexuality openly.

And the search was done because once upon a time I found them unbelievably attractive. But I’m also aware of my boundaries so I’d never voice these things. I know it’s none of my business.

I realized I’d been staring at them for too long, their eyebrows raised at me.

« Zoned out I’m sorry. » I laughed, wiping my under eye to not ruin my makeup.

People came in, quickly filling the table and stealing the donuts.

I took a deep breath, ready to focus.

But with two pairs of eyes on me, it made it difficult.
