Chapter 3 Out of the Ordinary

As the weather turned cooler, I was certain that Jay and Isabella wouldn't remember to dress our son warmly. I decided to buy clothes and daily necessities for my son from a mother and baby store.

However, I ran into Isabella near the baby store. She was with a middle-aged man, and they seemed quite intimate. They were laughing and talking, making it clear that their relationship was out of the ordinary.

Isabella had already been a mistress once, and she was ready to be one again. I followed them discreetly for a while and noticed the man caressing Isabella's buttocks with his hand, to which she merely pushed him away gently.

I snapped a photo of them from behind, planning to investigate Isabella's romantic history. A few days later, the detective reported that besides Jay, Isabella had been involved with several other men. Two of these relationships hadn't completely ended. One of the men was Isabella's first love, Cale Russell. He was remarkably handsome, resembling a movie star, but he was lazy, addicted to gambling, and had no other redeeming qualities. Isabella was devoted to him and had given him a lot of money.

The other man was a colleague at Isabella's workplace, Vice President Krish Galloway, the man I had seen near the baby store. He had a somewhat sleazy appearance and was slightly bald, 39 years old, 13 years older than Isabella.

Reportedly, Krish had been pursuing Isabella, even considering divorcing his wife to marry her. However, Isabella was young and had high standards, so she wasn't willing to marry a balding older man, especially since Krish had a domineering wife and a 10-year-old daughter. In the beginning, her relationship with Krish was solely for money.

Suddenly, an idea struck me. What if the child in Isabella's belly wasn't Jay's? It was highly likely to be Cale's. Given her personality, if she were pregnant with Krish's child, she would probably choose to abort it discreetly.

Cale was a person of little merit, and aside from his relatively good looks, he had nothing else going for him. Only Isabella would be enchanted by him and deceive men to provide money to satisfy Cale's gambling addiction.

Krish was Isabella's first target, and he had fallen for her. This made her eager to cut ties with him. As for Jay, he was her second target, capable of providing security and a decent family along with a considerable amount of money.

One had to admit that Isabella had made quite a cunning plan. However, she had undoubtedly planted significant risks for herself and provided me with an opportunity to expose her weaknesses.

I had someone investigate Krish and Cale, and during Jay's birthday celebration, I invited one of our former college friends, who enjoyed drinking and could hold his liquor. I used the pretext of reminiscing to get Jay drunk. At the same time, I directed Isabella to go to the supermarket to buy cigarettes. Then, I and our friend discreetly installed pinhole cameras in Jay's house.

With the surveillance, I could monitor Jay and Isabella's daily activities closely. I had neglected my husband's affairs in the past, which had allowed him to cheat on me without my knowledge.

One year had passed since my divorce from Jay. Before our divorce, I had been completely unaware of my husband's extramarital affairs. I had assumed that after six years of marriage, our relationship had become stale, Jay was tired of me, and my postpartum depression made me feel inadequate. These factors led to our separation.

After our divorce, my son was awarded to Jay. He allowed me to visit our son three times a month. On one of these visits, I took my son out to eat, ordering his favorite dishes. However, he burst into tears and told me that the maid at home had said that the good food was meant for his younger brother. Otherwise, his father wouldn't want him anymore.

I was puzzled at the time, wondering where the maid had come from and how Ben suddenly had a younger brother. I decided to visit Jay's house to get to the bottom of it.

When I reached Jay's home, I discovered that he was with Isabella, who was already pregnant.
