Chapter 1 A Lesson

The mistress got pregnant, and after successfully gaining a higher status, she extended her sinister intentions to my son!

I can't endure this any longer. What awaits my ex-husband and the mistress is a meticulously prepared feast of maternal vengeance!

...

My ex-husband, Jay Park, called and said that our son, Ben, had broken his leg and needed me to come take care of him.

When I arrived at the hospital, I found Isabella Marsh slapping my son, while Jay continued to play games as if nothing had happened!

I immediately rushed forward to push Isabella down and make her taste what it's like to break a leg. My ex-husband quickly walked over and grabbed my hand, flipping me over onto the ground.

"Are you crazy, you wicked woman? Isabella is pregnant with my child. You won't touch her!" Jay protected Isabella and yelled at me.

"Isn't Ben your son?" I questioned, holding my sobbing son while asking.

"He's not obedient, keeps crying, so I was just giving him some discipline. What's the problem?" Isabella, as if feeling terribly wronged, picked up her bag and started to leave, with Jay rushing to comfort her.

I was about to leave with my son when Jay stopped me, saying that he had custody of our son, and I had no right to take him away.

I countered by asking Jay why he didn't give me custody of our son if he didn't like him.

Both Jay and Isabella fell silent.

This wasn't the first time this had happened.

Ever since Isabella entered my family, my son had been getting sick or injured every other day.

Once, he accidentally drank sleeping pills, and it was only thanks to the nanny's discovery that he hadn't lost his life.

Another time, he got lost in a mall and nearly got hit by a car.

Today, he fell down the stairs and broke his leg.

One or two incidents could be seen as accidents, as Jay was irresponsible and didn't take good care of our son.

But with dangerous incidents happening so frequently, it was becoming increasingly clear that this was premeditated. How could I trust my son to live under the wicked gaze of his stepmother, where his life could be in danger at any moment?

After giving birth to my child, I went through a period of postpartum depression and even had thoughts of ending my own life.

Jay used this as a reason to divorce me.

After our divorce, Jay immediately began a relationship with Isabella. I later found out they had been seeing each other for a while.

Jay had been wanting to marry Isabella for some time, but she kept making excuses to delay it. In reality, she didn't want my son to live with them. Once, when I went to see my child, I overheard Isabella arguing with Jay not to let my son stay with them, as she wouldn't agree to the marriage otherwise.

But Jay, pressured by his mother, who valued a male heir, had no choice but to keep my son.

Now that Isabella was pregnant, and it was rumored that she was expecting a son, Jay's mother had started to become distant from her grandson.

It was only when I visited Ben one day and overheard Isabella suggesting to Jay that he should "get rid of" my son so that she could marry him. She wanted the inheritance to belong solely to her son, which is why she could only tolerate it if the family's inheritance passed to her son.

I understood everything now.

To protect my son, I needed to act before Isabella succeeded. I had to find a way to bring her down, crush her underfoot, and make her pay in blood for my son's wounds!

I immediately calmed my emotions, suppressed my inner pain and resentment because now was not the time to confront them directly. Isabella had been trying to harm my son for a while, and she was likely to strike again. I had to act first!
