Chapter 10: This Stone Contains Spiritual Energy

Without waiting for Sophia's agreement, Leo began selecting a raw stone from the stall.

"Leo, looks like you are an expert, huh? You said that the big piece with the crack won't produce anything. Well, you just can't afford it, right? Maybe I'll even pity you and give you some money," Julie taunted, determined to embarrass Sophia and make Leo look bad.

Leo ignored Julie completely as if he hadn't heard a word she said.

"Sir, this guy says your jadeite is fake and the piece with the crack has nothing inside," Julie said to the shop owner, hoping to stir up trouble.

The shop owner, busy inside, rushed out when he heard this. "Who said that? If you don't know the stones, get lost! You're not welcome here!"

"This guy must be a novice. The chance of getting jade from this exposed stone is over ninety percent, and he says there won't be any. What a joke."

"Didn't you hear the woman? He's a loser. How could he afford such a stone? Since he can't buy it, he claims it won't produce anything."

The chatter from the crowd was getting on Sophia's nerves. Julie was nothing but trouble.

Sophia tugged on Leo's sleeve, signaling him to leave.

But Leo had already picked a stone. "How much for this one?" he asked the shop owner.

"Five thousand dollars," the owner replied casually. To him, this stone had little chance of producing valuable jade, and if it did, it would be low-quality.

He would have sold it for two thousand dollars if Leo hadn't judged his premium stone.

Without bargaining, Leo took out a bank card and handed it to the owner. "Charge it."

Gambling on stones was all about paying up front. Win or lose, no regrets.

Leo had ten thousand dollars on this card. It was all he had secretly saved all over the years.

The owner swiped five thousand dollars, returned the card, and pointed to a cutting machine. "Do you want to cut it yourself, or should I?"

"No cutting. I'll polish it. You have a polishing machine, right?" Leo asked.

The owner was surprised but then laughed. "Young man, are you so sure this stone will produce jade?"

Leo nodded confidently.

"Alright then," the owner called inside. "Old Dewar, come help polish a stone."

Old Dewar quickly appeared with a polishing machine, took the stone from Leo, and began working.

The crowd's attention focused on the stone. Among them were seasoned stone gamblers, and they all believed the stone had a very low chance of producing jade.

Julie wore a smug expression, ready to mock Sophia and her useless husband.

About ten minutes later, Old Dewar splashed water on the stone.

"Look, it's green!" someone with sharp eyes exclaimed.

"Oh my, it looks like green jade of the best quality," another said in disbelief.

The experienced gamblers knew that if it truly was high-quality green jade, its value could easily increase a thousand times.

As Old Dewar continued polishing, more green appeared, with an even texture and excellent color.

The shop owner was stunned. He couldn't believe that a stone he considered nearly worthless could produce such high-quality jade.

This young man's luck was incredible.

Julie also heard the astonished murmurs in the crowd, and her face turned sour.

She had intended to humiliate Sophia, but instead, Sophia's useless husband had struck it rich.

"Stop polishing. I'll take on the risk. I'll buy this stone for three hundred thousand dollars!" someone shouted.

"I'll offer four hundred thousand!" another quickly followed.

Before Leo could respond, the crowd started an impromptu auction.

Leo smiled and addressed the crowd, "Sorry, it's not for sale."

Another ten minutes of polishing revealed a perfectly formed, high-quality green jade.

As Leo took the stone from Old Dewar, he felt a sudden jolt.

He sensed a special aura within the jade, similar to his own Spiritual Power.

This jade contained spiritual energy!

If he could absorb the spiritual energy from the jade, he could increase his own Spiritual Power.

"Leo, are you alright?" Sophia asked, thinking Leo was just overwhelmed by his luck.

"Yes, I'm fine," Leo replied, snapping out of his thoughts. He handed the jade to Sophia. "This is for you."

His offer caused some women in the crowd to swoon.

Sophia smiled as she took the jade. "You have incredible luck. Let's go."

As they walked away, the shop owner stood in shock. Gambling on stones was risky. Sometimes people spent millions and got nothing, while sometimes people made a great fortune in an instant.

Leo's gamble encouraged others to start selecting their own stones, boosting the shop's business.

Julie, meanwhile, had quietly slipped away.

Leo and Sophia hadn't gone far when a voice called out, "Young man, wait a moment."

Leo turned to see an elderly man in traditional attire approaching.

"Is there something I can help you with?" Leo asked.

The old man walked over and smiled. "I was impressed by your stone gambling skills. May I ask where you work?"

"It was just luck," Leo said humbly. "I'm currently unemployed."

The old man's eyes lit up as he heard this. "What's your name?"

"Leo."

"Leo," the old man repeated thoughtfully before taking out his phone. "Can you give me your contact information?"

Not sure what the man wanted, Leo gave him his phone number.

"Leo, would you be interested in working for Wilde Jewelry Group?" the old man offered.

Sophia was taken aback as she heard it.
