Chapter Seven

Author's POV

Ariana walked into the fashion bureau with Dylan, she cringed at the whispers and stares she got and felt like the ground should open and swallow her up, with heads bowed, she followed Dylan straight to his office with heads bowed but he suddenly stopped by the door and she bumped into him, she heard him hissed in anger before turning suddenly to face her, his eyes flashing fire, "will you for a moment not be clumsy?" He hissed and she cowered, "I...I'm sorry" she stuttered and he gritted his teeth, "can't you say a word without stuttering?" Heads still bowed, she kept quiet, she doesn't understand why he was being so angry with her today, without another word, he went in and she meekly followed and watched as he sat behind his desk. "It's time for my coffee" he stared at her straight in the eyes and she quickly averted hers, he had told her never to stare at him in the eyes, he frowned when she made no move to go get his coffee, "is something wrong?" Her eyes rounded at his question, "huh?" He rolled his eyes, obviously seeking for patience, "why the heck are you still standing there? Didn't you hear what I said? As my slave, you have to be fast and sharp in doing my bidding" she gulped and burped her head as she quickly ran out of the office," and be right back before I blink my eyes shut and opened" he snapped just as her hands touched the doorknob.

"I see you're finally a slave," Samantha said to her, blocking her passage, she doesn't have time for this right now, she just had to get Dylan's coffee to him, she made to bypass Samantha without answering her but she moved too, blocking her still, "you know, it's what you deserved, you deserved all the pains and more, I and father made a toast to your good riddance" Samantha's words seared into her heart like hot coals, it's obvious she wasn't missed as they didn't even bother to look for her, no one on this planet Earth loves her, she blinked away the tears and tried once again to bypass Samantha but yet again, she blocked her from passing, "why are you doing this? We're supposed to be sisters" she whispered fighting the tears trying to spill, Samantha scoffed at her words, "sisters" she spat out nodding in anger, "it would have been possible if you hadn't killed our mother"

"Sam, I don't even have a memory of her neither do I have the memory of killing her"

"It doesn't change the fact that you killed her, you let her die and I'll hate you as long as she's dead, we can only be sisters when you bring her back to life" Samantha hissed.

She stared at Sam, tears spilling, she wondered if she had really killed their mother, but this wasn't the place to discuss such, Dylan's coffee was getting cold and Sam wasn't letting her through, she took a deep breath, "I think we'll have time to discuss this later but for now, I have to give our boss this" she raised the coffee to Sam and made to go, "actually, he asked me to bring it" Sam said taking the cup from her hands, "what do you mean?"

"Yeah, he said I should bring his cup of coffee from you, he want you to get a file for him from the dressing room" she eyed Sam, doubt written all over her face, "why would I come looking for you if the boss hadn't sent me? I don't like even seeing your face and you know it"

She sighed at Sam's words, that at least is true, Sam doesn't like to set eyes on her and why would she come up with such a lie? "What file?" She asked

"Oh, just go, someone is there to give it to you" with that, she turned on her heels and walked towards the dressing room.

Samantha smiled smugly as she watched her walk away, "what a fool" she whispered as she stared at the coffee in her hands and dumped it into the trash, "little fool, you don't know a bomb is about to explode on you and tsk, tsk, tsk, you're not going to survive this one, my poor little sister".

Ariana opened the door to the dressing room but didn't find anyone there, "hello" she called out nervously but no one answered, she slowly walked in and wondered who was supposed to give her the file, "hello" she called out again still no answer, she hissed in pain as she hit her leg on the dresser table, she massaged it gently as her eyes landed on a blue file there, "oh, the file is here? But no one is here, perhaps, the person couldn't wait long enough to hand it to her personally" she quickly took it and walked towards the door, she tried the knob but it didn't bulge, her heart skipped, was she locked in? Her hands nervously went to the locket on her neck, for some reason, touching that locket always calm her in times of distress, she tried again but still, it didn't budge, she pounded on the door, "is someone there? Please, I'm locked in, help me" sweat beaded her forehead as she tried to get the door opened, she pounded repeatedly on it but knew it would take some sought of a miracle for someone to hear her, the dressing room is at the extreme end of the office and staffs don't use it except there's a show and from what she knew, there wasn't any show set for that day, she sat down slowly on the ground, perhaps, when she didn't come back with the file, Dylan would come looking for her.

Samantha smiled smugly as she walked away from the door of the dressing room, she had stood there and listened to the fool's desperate pounding of the door, she must be exhausted right now, "no one can save you now dear sister, let's see how you get out from this one, the show is about to begin and I'll sit and enjoy myself, what a great show it would be" she laughed quietly as she walked towards her office.
