Inside Duty (1)

Hao Fang and He Hung were working while Hua Jun Jie was there observing his home. "Are those two the new workers?" He questioned his wives, sitting close to them at the table.

"Those two are the new ones. The tall one with hair covering his eyes is Zhao and the shorter one with the bun is Zu. They are best friends, but also like brothers. We assigned them to the pasture to handle our horses." Huai Qing Ge said.

"Mhm." Hua Jun Jie just left after not even thinking anything about it.

"Hey!" Hao Fang turned around to see Madam Xu Lin behind him jumping a little. "Give me one of the best horses here." Hao Fang showed her one of the horses as she got on. "I'll be taking him for a ride." She went on, moving out of the way quickly to avoid being ran over.

"Woman like her are still young and immature." He Hung said with both agreeing to it. Later that day, Hao Fang was having his break of the day.

Hao Fang pulled out a necklace of a red eyed Phoenix. He had received it from Kei Ren as she had given it to him before he left. He smiled looking down to it just when it was taken out of his hand.

"What a pretty thing. Where did you get it!?" Xu Lin was asking, surprised that he did not notice her since he was so distracted by the thought of Kei Ren. He tried to get it back, Xu Lin kept putting it behind her back. "Tell me where you got it?!" She asked.

He Hung had grabbed it from behind as he looked to Xu Lin. "My brother here got it from his lover. Now, it isn't kind to take things from us. We'll be taking our leave." He Hung wrapped his arm around Zhao Fang quickly leaving to the pasture. He gave back the necklace as he sighed. "Don't ever let anyone see it because they will take it no matter what. Imagine how Kei Ren would think about it." He Hung told Hao Fang.

"I understand." Hao Fang held onto the necklace with his hands not wanting to lose it.

Weeks passed, Hua Jun Jie was still sending letters to the brothel for information but there was nothing about it. Both brothers were still spying with Xu Lin, still bothering Hao Fang as he started to get annoyed how the woman seemed attention.

"Who is this lover of yours!?" Xu Lin would ask Hao Fang. He Hung would be there to help him, he didn't talk at all to anyone unless it was his brothers.

"Why do you need to know when you have a husband already?" He Hung would question her. Xu Lin was silent having both brothers ignore her soon after.

"You both. I need you to pick some things up. I have matters to discuss with my wives." Hua Jun Jie said to them.

He Hung and Hao Fang left to get what their master ordered, walking along the market streets, they also wanted to get away from the crazy lady. It was busy as usual as they were walking. They then heard, "Stop that man! He stole my pouch!" Hao Fang saw the man run then punching him. The man fell down unconscious which Hao Fang took the chance taking a woman's money pouch back from the thief.

"Fang!" Hao Fang turned around to see a breathless Kei Ren as she smiled looking to him. She ran to hug him although he was shocked but hugged her back. "How have you been?" She asked giving a little space for him after the meet up.

"Ren... your too fast... you know... I'm slower than... you." Weng Yan Mei was behind them and then she saw He Hung.

"Yan Mei!" He ran fast hugging her that had her surprised. "It's been so long! Your still beautiful as always." He said missing her. Weng Yan Mei struggled trying to get out of his arms.

“You need to calm down!” Weng Yan Mei kept trying to get He Hung to let her go.

"Where are two going?" Kei Ren asked. Hao Fang looked from her sweaty forehead then down to her beautiful faces. Taking out his handkerchief, he wiped her face having to rid of the sweat.

"We were off to do some shopping for Hua Jun Jie." He Hung had bags that they carried with them.

"Let's hang out. It's been a long time since we've last seen each other. I want to be sure to have time with you." Kei Ren said to mainly Hao Fang seeing a smile form on his face. He felt more comfortable with her, grabbing her hand without hesitation. Kei Ren was surprised by the sudden action as they both walked along ahead of the other two.

"Let us go also." He Hung held onto Weng Yan Mei's hand deciding not to fight this time. She would fight him when he came back from his duty.

They walked around the market, they had done the shopping at the same time. "How have you been for the past weeks?" Kei Ren asked Hao Fang. She was hoping to have an answer after missing him for so long.

"We've... been fine. Just miss... everyone." Kei Ren was feeling deep joy smiling to know that he was opening up to her. He still held her hand as the girls decided to drop them off at Hua Jun Jie's manor.

"We'll see you both again right?" Kei Ren asked. Hao Fang unexpectedly kissed her head when she didn't expect it but blushed. Spending the day together when both had to leave after the reunion.

Both girls left, Hao Fang and He Hung brought the items. They came across Hua Jun Jie and his wives in a meeting with each other.

"Jun Jie! Are you accusing me of being with other men!? I'm your wife and I've been nothing but loyal to you. Why must you assume I'm cheating?!" Xu Lin was arguing but Hua Jin Jie only looked away from her.

"There's been rumors in this manor about you and I don't want to be seen having an adulterous wife." Hua Jun Jie said. Huai Qing Ge was feeling happy that Xu Lin was being accused. The rumors spreading were either true or not did not bother her since Xu Lin caused the rumors.

"I've not been adulterous. Maybe if you would spend some time with me then it would make you see me more and know me better!" Xu Lin stomped out of the room. Both Hao Fang and He Hung bowed to not look at her walking off.

They entered in the room with all the items as they saw Hua Jun Jie. "We've brought all the things that Master has ordered. Would that be all for today?" He Hung asked.

"That would be all. I would like you both to do another favor for me." Hua Jun Jie then said.
