Chapter 6

Bryn's POV

I've been driving for hours and I knew eventually that we'd run out of gas. Jennifer's been asleep for most of the ride and I was glad she was resting. I had no idea how long we'd get sleepless nights in the forest.

I had honestly no idea where I was going, even with the GPS in the car. I had no idea where I was or where I was planning to go so it was absolutely useless. I've always been the kind of girl who had plans, who thought ahead. I had a 5 year plan in my mind and I had lots of schedules and checklists. Now I have absolutely no plans, my only goal is to make sure Jennifer and I survive and live a happy life.

As I drive down the road slowly car started to pace us and soon enough, we passed by some shops. I soon realized that we were in Montana and I smiled. From here I can find an information centre, that hopefully will provide me with a map that will help me drive to California. I could only hope that everyone still lived in California and if they don't, I'll head to my dad's place in Alaska. I see a small street full of shops, including a motel, dinner, and a gas station so I pull over.

I get out of the car and ignore everyone's stare; I was obviously on a pack’s territory. As other males staid close to their mates and steered them away from me. I wasn't dangerous but I doubt they'd believe me. I open Jennifer's door and shake her arm, trying to wake her up. She yawns cutely and stretches in the car and flashed me her adorable smile. Her dark blue eyes stared up at me sleepily and I smiled rubbing the sleep from her eyes. I loved her eyes the most about her, Jennifer appearance takes mainly after me but her eyes are all Mason's.

"Hey sweetie did you have a good nap?" I asked and she nodded slipping out of the car, stretching again to warm up her muscles. "Where are we mummy?" She asks and I couldn't help but smile, "We're in Montana, now come on sweetie let's get you cleaned up" I say grabbing her hand and walking her into the diner. She probably had no idea what let's get you cleaned up means but she obeyed anyway.

The instant I entered the diner, more eyes were on me. They weren't as intense as before, as Jennifer makes me look like less of a threat. I resisted from picking her up and holding her close to me and protect her from the world, but I have to look like I'm not scared or nervous about being here.

I walk up to the counter were a small she-wolf shivered under my gaze. She looked scared, even though if I tried to lay a hand on her I'd surely be attacked. Which reminds me I'll need to leave soon before the pack alerts their Alpha. "Excuse me? “My harsh voice croaked out and I cringed at the sound of it, with the lack of water and words the last few years my voice sounds terrible. "How may II help you...?" She asks stuttering over every word and I sent her a friendly smile. "Do you mind if we use your bathroom?" I ask politely and the girls eyes widen in surprise, as if I asked her the most ridiculous question ever. "Of course," She said reluctantly, still a little wary of me. "Thanks" I say taking Jennifer's hand and leading her into the girl’s bathroom.

Anyone that was in there quickly cleared out of the room, and I didn't mind it gave us more privacy. I picked up Jennifer and placed her on the bench. "What are you doing?" She asked with a grin and I smiled. "Making you look pretty" I said grabbing a hair tie I found on the bench. I plaited her hair into a French braid, her hair was so long and un-cared for that she looked nice to have all her face swept off her face.

I grabbed a paper towel and wet it under the tap. I used it as a face cloth as I wiped the dirt and filth from her gorgeous face. Tears welled up in my eyes as I saw how truly beautiful, she was. I've never seen her like this, so clean and beautiful. Not a spot of achene or redness, and her father's light freckles dancing under her eyes.

I grabbed another paper towel and cleaned her filthy feet, as she didn't have any shoes to wear. "OK sweetie do you need to go toilet?" I ask and she nods her head, I place her back on the floor and she walks into the stall and closes the door behind her. I sighed and looked at myself in the mirror, I looked dead and would love to have a hairbrush or some make up. I grabbed my own paper towels and cleaned myself off. I wet my hair under the tap, making it easier to rake my fingers through my knotted hair, and put it into a messy plait. After I was done, I looked decently clean, but I stink really bad. Imagine not having a shower for 10 years, gross I know right!?

I hear the toilet flush and Jennifer walks out, and I help her wash her hands. As she was too small to reach the sink. Once her hands were dry, we walked out of the bathroom and into a very tense atmosphere. I gulped realizing I wasn't quick enough and the pack alerted their Alpha and they were in this dinner. Staring at us, trying to make me feel intimidated. But I was a born Luna, so I wasn't scared of them. The Alpha and Beta was here, while the rest of the pack members who were in here earlier were now gone.

"What are you doing here rogue?!" The Alpha snarled but it didn't affect me and he raised his eyebrow. "I'm just passing through on my way home" I replied and they chuckled, "Rogues don't have homes" The Beta snickered and I frowned. "I have a home , I used to live in the Luna Moon pack with my mate and friends" I said and the Alpha nodded his head with a smirk, "Yes used to live there, now you're a rogue" He said and I frowned, "It's not my fault I was kidnapped!" I snapped and they chuckled. "Kidnapped sure whatever cupcake, were going to have to take you to the pack house" The Alpha says getting serious standing up and walking towards us and his Beta followed.

"Chill dudes, show me what car and I get in peacefully. No fighting in front of my daughter" I say stubbornly picking up Jennifer and placing her on my hip. The boys nodded in understanding, but obviously not trusting me completely as Alpha lead the way and Beta walked behind me, making sure I wouldn't escape.

Just to be cliché I climbed into their black SUV's and they locked the doors before driving away. Yeah, this guy will either kill me, or make me a deal to be in their pack, neither of those options sound good. The drive was anything but silent, as Jennifer kept asking questions. The men didn't seem to mind, they even found some of her questions amusing.

When they finally parked their SUV's, they opened my door and forced me out of the car. Obviously getting more cautious with me around their back. Even though I have no intentions on hurting anyone, they didn't know that and assumed I was a threat. I opened the back car door and grabbed Jennifer out of her seat and placed her once again on my hip. Everyone from the pack near us immediately calmed down, as if seeing me with a child made me look less dangerous.

I knew as soon as I gazed my eyes on this gorgeous pack house, I'd never want to leave. Depending on their intentions, I may have to leave. I refuse to let them kill me and I don't wish to become part of their pack. They would never let me go of course; I was a rogue. Maybe I could become part of this pack until I have a plan on what to do next. Maybe joining a pack will help stabilize Jennifer's life and give her the help and education she needs.

With guards in front of me, beside me and behind me we walked towards the pack house. The Alpha smiled walking up onto the pack house porch to stand beside a woman, who I assumed as her mate and Luna. The Luna's eyes squared in one me and I was surprised that she wasn't judging me. She wasn't glaring at me; she was softly observing me and Jennifer with a soft smile on her face.

Her face light up with excitement and squealed "Oh My Gosh!"...
