Friya Is Clueless

"I will wait for you to open your mouth." She spoke rudely. She concentrated on eating her food and spoke nothing further. He was disappointed with her not so friendly nature. He clears his throat, "Are you single? Somebody must have broken your heart into several pieces that you don't get impressed by handsome men anymore."

"I don't talk about my personal life with anyone. Please don't ask. I like to keep my private matters with myself."

"I see. But you can speak to me as a friend if you like."

"I don't make friends either. I stay away from human beings. That's the way I live my life. I am sorry."

"You seem to have struggled a lot."

"None of anyone's business. I just need to earn my living."

"Oh it means you are single."

"Well, I was dating someone who turned out to be a total asshole."

"I wish I met you earlier. I would had definitely helped you break his bones."

Hearing this, Friya giggled. His heart starts beating faster seeing her addictive smile. All of a sudden, he gets upset seeing her cold expression again. She speaks, "I don't know how will I explain. I just decided to walk away. A man who cannot commit is not a man in real."

He feels guilty hearing this. He is not a man to commit to anyone. The irony being he is looking for a woman to marry for property and not for commitment. He clears his throat and asks, "So you like those men who believes in love, marriage and commitments."

"Well I don't like anybody. I don't think I will fall for someone. I am too focused establishing myself. I want to gift my parents a villa."

"Interesting. So where are your parents?"

"They live in another city and am not giving you details."

"No problem. So you shifted here for this job?"

Her face became pale. She remained silent. He felt sad seeing her upset. He does not know why he is having a roller coaster ride of his emotions. They ate the rest of their food in silence. While he was about to help her clear the table, she stopped him and asked him to relax. He sat on the dining chair and watched her clean the dishes. He felt like home being in this place. This is the first time he liked having lunch with someone unknown and secretive without any fear. She was too busy to notice the two eyes looking at her without blinking. When she was done, she noticed him looking at her dreamy. She walked ahead and waved her hands in front of him.

"Excuse me Mr. Cleveward? Are you alright?"

"I am absolutely fine."

"Thank you for the lunch. I should leave."

"That's great." She closed her mouth as she spoke. He frowned seeing her so happy to see him leave. He realises that she just wants to stay away from him at any cost. He did not seem so happy at the moment. She felt like she brought in danger but she didn't care. She intentionally wants him to feel unpleasant so that he does not come to her house again. Trying to get rid of the silence, she spoke, "Thank you for the lunch. It was very tasty. I will prepare something for you and hand over the lunch boxes to you on Monday. It's not nice to send you back with empty boxes."

"Well, I think I have a better idea. Why don't you bring the lunch boxes to my house tomorrow?"

Friya's mouth was wide open. Junes was shocked too. He never invited anyone home especially a woman. Why does he insists on calling her home? He feels confused. He is being too brave and bold. He is not liking this version of himself. Can't he just wait for Monday?

Friya was back to her senses and refused his suggestion immediately. He looked sad but had to accept whatever she suggested. He didn't argue. "You can bring breakfast for both of us and maybe we can have together."

"Oh no. I will bring breakfast as you say but I don't want unnecessary gossip in office. Please let me just handover the lunch boxes to you this time."

"This time? Then I guess you owe me."

"How do I owe you?"

"I gave you my time today to you and you are not."

"I already had lunch with you right now."

"Because I insisted. This surely does not count. You were not willing to in the first place."

"What? I don't understand." Friya pretended to be innocent but she was shocked how on earth he read her mind. She could only keep quiet. He would had stayed longer if his grandfather didn't text him to come over to his mansion right away. He felt some sense of peace in her house. He just brushed her hair with his hands and bid her goodbye.

"Don't touch my hair. I am not a pet."

He could only turn back and giggle. He left without saying further leaving his mind behind in her house. Friya is clueless at what happened. Unfortunately, she does not have a good friend to share. She was all alone in this world. Realising how lonely she was, she could guess she had a good time having lunch although he is a total stranger. She stared at the lunch boxes that has been left behind on the table. She misses home that is no more hers. She drags her feet on the ground walking into her room. She lays down on her bed and a few tear drops fall off her eyes. She hugs the big teddy bear and is lost in thought. She is cold and never cries. This is the Friya to the world and she suppresses all her emotions as well as the struggles of her life within herself. She stared at the ceiling blindly with the memories of the past flashing before her eyes.
